1. Huh?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.07.11)
On the one hand, Turkey accuses Israel of failing to meet its obligations in defense deals. Yesterday, they suspended all military deals. Can't have it both ways, turkeys. Make up your mind.
2. The Turks bought a "maintenance contract"
seadog1946 ,   Erie Basin, NYC   (09.07.11)
from a used drone dealer? Oh well, live and learn.
3. Shmuck you just cancelled the Military trade with Israel!?
Joe black ,   Florida, USA   (09.07.11)
What a fool, first he publicly declares that he is canceling all trade with Israel. Then he comes back and says, wait a minute, I meant only all MILITARY trade with israel. Then today he comes back again and complains, look at these Israeli's they don't even want to respect our Military trade agreements anymore!! Is anyone watching this? you tear up an agreement and then complain when the other side doesn't want to trade with you anymore. This guy has lost his marbles...Arm the photon canons and send the dolphin subs out to protect the oil rigs. They are a coming!
4. "We don't care if it costs $15 million or $150 million,"
rob ,   Orangevale Ca. USA   (09.07.11)
How about a billion or so in lost tourism and military hardware exchanges as well as maintenance. Where ya gonna get spare parts for all the Israeli made weaponry and surveillance drones? Huh? Erdogan is a fool that really thinks the photo shop military of Iran will protect him and his Islamist goons. Ok, Kurds could use a few drones of their own, and we all know the nasty Greeks could use a hand. Cyprus, yeah, they want help. The Isles are beautiful and the people there nothing like the Turks. Israel wont sink Turk ships unless Turk ships do something stupid. I hope the commanders of these ships realize that the Israeli's are NOT playing games. Shalom, Rob
5. erdo wanted to punish Israel; now, he seeks cover...
dante ,   uk   (09.07.11)
now, erdo wants to blame Israel for the cancellations that he defiantly and belligerently announced. this child had an opportunity to be a great leader, a builder; he has chosen, instead, the path of the demogogue, the path of the hater, the path of the spoiler, the path of the angry, resentful impotent.
6.  "Walk all over our honor "
jojo   (09.07.11)
carbon copy of Goebbel's serenades over the radio. What a jerk this Erdogan. The 9 thugs he sent over the marmara, now represent Turkey's honor?. Lower than that it can not get. Poor Turkey.
7. Just go to hell
Shalom ,   Ashdod, IL   (09.07.11)
We should sell these drones to the kurds so they can fight you. Keep screaming like a rabid dog, the louder you scream the more Hashem will help us
8. Everything in the Islamic world centers around honor
Mikey   (09.07.11)
Like slaughtering people in the streets, killing your own daughters, revoking people of basic rights, oppressing women and minorities and so on, so on. No wonder Muslims are the biggest enemies of other Muslims, way way way before anyone else. All in the name of honor. But what honor exactly...?
9. ha ha! weirdogan...
Fabio ,   Rome, Italy   (09.07.11)
10. Sorry, we can't seem to find the drones
Rachel ,   US   (09.07.11)
11. The new rules
FreddyNYC ,   nyc usa   (09.07.11)
Evidently Mr. Erdogan is to determine all the changes and timing of changes in Turkey/Israel relationship. Israel cannot initiate any changes. Israel must be entirely predictable for Mr. Erdogan.
12. BWAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA!!!!
Silverdog ,   San Fran USA   (09.07.11)
OMG! I am LAUGHING in Erdogen's FACE!

the drones Turkey no longer wants. I am sure they will be put to go use.
16. #1: they don't want to be sued
david ,   new york   (09.07.11)
it was just mentioned yesterday that israel could sue turkey if they boycott israel. endrogen heard this and now claims that the reason he is suspending military purchases is because of something israel did (trying to protect himself from a lawsuit)
17. #13: america is with turkey??
david ,   new york   (09.07.11)
you must be warped: turkey is an ally of iran, how are they supposed to helpful to the US?? support for hezbollah is not exactly pro-american since they killed more than 200 american marines and are an active member of worldwide islamic terrorism. do you remember turkey blocking america from entering iraq during the war? once upon a time they were our ally, but now the leaders are crazy islamists.
18. 1 huh huh -- actually it is quite consistent
David   (09.07.11)
and goes hand in hand perfectly but not expecting you to get it... continue with the blue pills you might get it one day.
19. Erdogan painting himself into a corner
Stephen in New York   (09.07.11)
That can’t be good. Chaos will result since Turkey’s ability to shape events is questionable and violence is attracted to vacuums. Israel can deal with everything, but the cost remains to be seen.
20. #13, Joe Blow
Chatich   (09.07.11)
When you say "people here in the USA" I can only assume you mean at your local kkk clubhouse and neo-nazi revivals. Those select groups aside, the vast majority of Americans stand resolutely with Israel and against islamo-facsism like the erdogan regime. Go google some polls, if you have the wherewithall to perform such a task. On second thought, never mind...
21. the head Turkey
DonQ ,   Canada   (09.07.11)
seriously, the man is a putz!
22. The Turkish joke
Mike ,   Canada   (09.07.11)
Turkey last week expelled top Israeli diplomats, suspended all military deals and vowed to step up Turkish navy patrols... so how is Israel responsible for not meeting military contract obligations? T
23. Americans stand with turkey?
Jason ,   NY, NY   (09.07.11)
What cave do you live in? have you read a newspaper in the last 20 years? The vast majority of Americans are well educated enough to realize that Israel has been and continues to be America's strongest and best friend in the region and not the Islamist regimes that continue to blow up the world every time their "honor" is offended.
24. LMAO!!!!!
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (09.07.11)
Oh lordy Erdogen is such a comic. The last military trade deal ended a year and a half ago. There are no deals to suspend. Now for a maintenance deal, well the guys that were handling the paperwork were expelled from Turkey, so we'll get back to you about as soon as France gives us our money back on the aircraft we bought in 1967 and never got, nor was the money returned. Three letters for Erdogen - TFB.
25. this man is certifiably crazy. where are his meds?
ralph   (09.07.11)
26. Chutzpah
Adam H ,   USA   (09.07.11)
There is no way Israel should sell weapons nor provide maintenance. I just hope that ass licking Barak does not give in.
27. The idiot wants to have his cake and eat it too!
Maurice ,   Montreal   (09.07.11)
It doesn't work that way you ignorent monkey!
28. #13 Joe aka Mohammed!
Maurice ,   Montreal   (09.07.11)
Who do you think you are fooling?
29. no. 13 - it's thanksgiving already?
Shaul R   (09.07.11)
But seriously, I wish Turkey the same, esp. to stick to the truth, something they haven't been doing much lately.
30. Erdoğan is definetely right
lamy ,   istanbul   (09.07.11)
Some of the commenters above, are definetely unaware of daily business practices and rules. Regardless of all sort of possible disputes between sides, when you are talking business, it is the rules of business that applies. As he said, there is an international ethical code that enforces business agreements. All manufacturers offer a warranty that is applicable from the date of sale, in case the product, or some part of it proves to be defective or malfunctioning. Even if you make a purchase of 15 dollars watch, warranty applies for 2 years, Let alone a military item that costs 150.000.000 $. So, please don't distort this. He may have suspended all military ties for the future, but this does not grant Israel an exemption from its liabilities that it is legally and ethically bound to.
