31. Here's what really happened
Henry from New York ,   USA   (09.10.11)
Erdogan (the g is pronounced as a "w" by the way, but no one puts the accent above the g) went on YNet and read about the Dolphin-class subs. He realised that his subs are garbage compared to Israel's, and when he read that three more were on the way, well, we just read the result now didn't we?
32. PRESS TURKEY ON THE ISSUES
American ,   Los Angeles   (09.10.11)
The issue of the human rights of the kurds and recognition of the Armenian Genocide will keep erDOGans gov busy to defend itself for years and will create internal disagreement and finger pointing.
33. legal gaza blockade applies to turkey too
bernard ross ,   st anns bay, jamaica   (09.10.11)
erdogan has already supported terrorism against israel by sending his terror flotilla in order to provoke confrontation. After this all turkish boats are suspect.
34. BATH?
turgay ,   ankara Turkey   (09.10.11)
Sorry but Israel is already helping PKK but does not admit this. Surely, Liebarman changes the policy by by not denying that Israel is behind suicide bombers in Turkey.
35. "Remarks taken out of context"?
Jennie ,   Israel/US   (09.10.11)
Pathetic...It is quite evident and remarkable, that Lieberman's response didn't get long time to arrive...And now 'poor' Erdogan's knees got week....He is not such a big macho after all...Thank You, Lieberman ! You are showing to other Ministers and the Nation the kind of Leadership and currage, that is much needed these days... It would be a good idea for Israel to strenghten ties with Kurds,Cyprus and Greece...
36. Mistranslated
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (09.10.11)
Why isn't erdogan translating his own words before they are said ?.
37. Sneer quotes from "Salma" the "Palestinian"
Scott ,   USA   (09.10.11)
"She" is such an "admirer" of "Erdogan," the Ottomans' new Sultan, that she can't utter the word Israel without quotes. This from a member of a self-styled and phony nationality.
38. Put the Turkish navy on the bottom.
Ron L ,   USA   (09.10.11)
39. No.18- tell you what you can do with your bone
Shaul R   (09.10.11)
40. Turgay - let me clarify a few things
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (09.10.11)
1. Israel did use PKK help when Turkish (AKP) government did not want to stop the arms train from Iran to Hezbullah. PKK was paid to derail the train #5555. That does not mean the Israekl supports the PKK. In fact it is the opposite. Israel helped the capture of PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan. 2. Try to remember when was the last suicide mission that PKK executed. I remember and it was long time ago. Lately the PKK only attacks Turkish military targets and hide in isolated mountains like Kandil. They do not hide behind civilians while Hamas attacks civilian targets, hied behind the innocent children, women and elderly in Gaza.
41. If Merdegan just kept his mouth shut he wouldnt have been "misquoted"
Alan ,   SA   (09.10.11)
42. Misquoted? Uh huh!
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (09.10.11)
43. #34 Tur(-kish)gay>
HaifaGuy   (09.10.11)
Not that there's anything wrong with it))) Don't you Muzzies love putting everyone else in the same fecal mass collector where you reside! Conspiracies are your pipe dreams for lack of anything real in your lives like jobs, freedom, sex, etc. Take your conspiracy and put it in your crackpipe. Or better yet, make a TV series depicting how a team of brave Turkish unibrows bravely penetrates Israel and bravely abducts Lieberman to bravely torture him and bravely kick him in the groin. Your brave Turkish TV and movie producers are awaiting your brave orders.
44. haha - the translator again
Roman   (09.10.11)
it's always the translator's fault if a politicians mouth runs away- too many suffer from foot and mouth disease.... Turkey's Erdogan is suffering also from an inflated ego- is beginning to sound like Ahmad, Assad and Ghadhaffi and Co. What about the Armenians and Kurds, Erdogan baby?
45. No difference !.
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (09.10.11)
46. #26;David, YOUR RIGHT
Mark from Georgia ,   USA   (09.10.11)
Another interesting story happened in 1942 before Israel's rebirth, during WW2. Google the SS Struma 1942. It's a story about Turkey and their responsibility in killing 768 Jewish refugees, men, women and children. It was the single worst civilian disaster of WW2.
47. Oh, really?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.11.11)
Turkey scrambling away. Well, we always knew they would. So Erdogan finally figured out the world of hurt that Israel can bring to bear upon Turkey. Turkeys. I say, let's just do it anyway. It will be fun, and it would teach the world a very, very big and rather important lesson.
48. Mark From GA
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (09.11.11)
I know tyhe Struma and also The Parita. When the Parita stopped in the port of Izmir with a broken part the passengers were not allowed to land. many Izmir Jews (We call them Izmirli) including my father carried home cooked meals to the ship using rowboats. Fortunately the Parita had a happy ending, it was able to reach Palestine. As a child growing in Izmir at public schools these were never thought to us in history classes.
49. TAKE YOUR PROZAC AND LITHIUM ERDOGAN
EZRA THE PROUD JEW ,   USA-ISRAEL   (09.11.11)
What a wild, unstable lunatic this man is. And YEAH, of course he has to soften his stance; he put himself in a diplomatic firestorm; i'm sure his butt was nailed to the wall shortly after his idiotic statement was released. what a farcical looney bird.
50. Translate it!
Mehmet ,   Siirt   (09.11.11)
I graduated from university department of Turkish language and literature. You can be sure that they say quite correctly translated into English. We are also extremely happy to have listened as Turks. In addition to the things he said or something that does not take a step back. Because just because he is not the prime minister of Israel, that the Turkish Prime Minister. So do not be surprised, a lot of glorious history of empire, a country who is breaking the shells. There is no more Old "Cold War Turkey. Economic and politically powerful, there is now a democratic Turkey.
51. SARAH B. , #47
DENNIS ,   NJ, USA   (09.11.11)
I usually agree with you, but.. let's remember: when you take on the enemy, some of our kids are going to be hurt or killed. Did, or do , your kids serve in the IDF? If so, then I wont argue with you. If not, then i just suggest that you think abut that. again, I agree with your thoughts , positions, and sentiments.
52. So to put it in context:
Vlad   (09.11.11)
"We're not sending warships now, but If Israel stops the next flotilla, we will". Oh, how reassuring.
53. Erdogan needs an exorcist
Jack Golan ,   Sacramento, USA   (09.11.11)
The demon that possesses meglomaniacal Muslim leaders is seeking a new gig, having left the soon-to-be-no-more Gadhafi. Just a hop across the Mediterranean from Tripoli to Ankara and he's found a new place to reside - Erdogan's head. World, I present to you the latest wacko suffering caliphate envy ... PM Erdogan.
54. Erdogan is a gasbag.
Erekat   (09.11.11)
55. Sure, whatever.
Stephen in New York   (09.11.11)
Climbing down that tree.
56. #18 laughing?
jason ,   israel   (09.11.11)
who is laughing at Turkey? maybe Erdogan's outbursts have become amusing to some people, but i wouldn't compare the reactions of ynet talk balks to Israel government policy, which I think has been responsible. Waiting for better days.
57. Erdogan is learning Israel also holds some important cards
Yitzhak ,   Israel   (09.11.11)
All this means is Israel also holds some strong leverage points and the Turks do understand this. If Erdogan continues down this road, I can envision Israel sending "advisers" to the PKK, or supporting Kurdish independence in international political forums, something the Turks, Iranians, Iraqis and Syrians would be very unhappy about since these four states oppress the Kurds and deny them their inalienable right to national self-determination on their own land, which all four of these states illegally occupy. I can also see a major push on the Armenian Genocide question, putting Turkey into a tight corner it won't be able to get out from. And let's examine the inherently racist doctrine of Turkism. Criticize Turkish nationalism in Turkey, go to jail. See Article 301 of the Turkish Penal Code: "The person who publicly denigrates the Turkish Nation... shall be punished with imprisonment of six months to two years." There is no such law in Israel. We have Arab Knesset members and Israeli Arab citizen activists and NGOS that constantly denigrate the Jewish nation, without fear of being jailed. Turkey is no guardian of human rights, and its hypocrisy must be called out.
58. #57 imagine this
Israel Israeli ,   Tel Aviv   (09.11.11)
Israel allies with Greece and Cyprus to liberate Northern Cyprus from Turkish occupation. Other Orthodox countries give support, including Russia who is angry about NATO radar in Turkey. After liberation of the North, Cyprus becomes part of Greece, and the Cypriot gas saves the Greek economy. Justice is served, everyone wins.
59. #58 Israel Israeli
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (09.11.11)
And what do you want to do with the Turkish population in Northern Cyprus (which is originally from Anatolia) - send them home to the land of their ancestors?
60. #47 and #51
Henry from New York ,   USA   (09.12.11)
Indeed, I normally also agree with Sarah, but my girlfriend is currently in the Israeli Air Force. As I would really like to marry her and have three children, I would prefer there not to be any war with anyone at any point.
