61. To Chaim: Israel has the Arsenal and They Know It
Noah Lev ,   HollywoodCAUSA   (09.16.11)
To Chaim: We all know that most of Palestine was lopped off and made Trans-Jordan (the home of the true Palestinians). 2 states were created in 48, one Arab, the otherJewish, in the remainder by the UNGA. The Arabs attacked, negating everything previously agreed to. They lost..and lost again in 67/73. Had they won? Now they want to reverse history, as if nothing had happened. This is not about giving up "what is left of Palestine", its about their right of return demand..and ultimate destruciton of the Jewish state. Hamastan and Hez in Lebanon are portents of things to come, and everyone knows it, cept for some liberal, naive, defeatist Jews, and the Pales supporters. In 3 US cities, the Pals activists have posted anti-Israel advertisements in the subways. Oh me oh my. Would an Arab city tolerate this, but they still are there, for the gullible to believe. Abbas got his 140 nations to agree to a state to the 67 cease fire lines, and E. Jerusalem. In the meantime, he demands the right of return to Israel..and NO JEW IN PALESTINE. What he really means is: no Jew in the former British Mandate, the settlements the first to be Judenrein. The EU and a few Israeli supporters know that any attempt by the Pales to force the issue on it, will mean war. That will suck in other countries.. Israel has the weapnry to defeat any combo of nations..it is a nuclear power. Thsoe nukes were not manufactured for show. In fact, Israels arsenal was designed to stop any Soviet aggression against the state. NATO, and the EU know this. Does anyone think that Israel will not launch them if its situation becomes dire? The solutionj: Jordan is Palestine, 6 times larger than Israel. In the meantime, Israel should declare marshal law, until this passes.
62. Terrorist Palestine
David Asleson ,   Minneapolis USA   (09.16.11)
63. Corrections
Kim walker ,   Denver, USA   (09.16.11)
Sorry about the gratuitious IPad corrections on my post. But I believe the gist come through despite that.
64. Let Them Have It
Eric ,   Sacramento CA USA   (09.16.11)
Let the Palestineans have a state then when not if they attack Isreal in any way they can declare war and finish them for good. Would a Palestinean state be listed on the state sponsors of terrorism list?
65. A big all out ME war is looming...and...
Israeli 2   (09.16.11)
It will come upon us soon Nothing can diffuse it. This war will have more casualties than ever, but Israel will still be victorious. Israel will annex more land than ever before. From the Noth to the East and to the South Israel will double in size. I have seen the future and it is upon us.
66. Obama! Obama! Obama! Obama!
Bryan Abbott ,   City of Lost Angeles   (09.16.11)
Oh thank you Lord Jesus, Praise Obama.. lead us to the promised land! No Peace No Justice! Obama! Obama! Obama!
67. Obama
David N. ,   DAMASCUS, MD   (09.16.11)
Obama does not speak for the US, we support Israel. Peace be upon Jerusalem as well as the hearts of the Palestinians.
68. No such thing as a Palestinian nation ever existed.
Pavel Mares ,   Prague, Czech Rep.   (09.16.11)
Israeli Arabs, Gazan Arabs and Judean Arabs are exactly the same as Jordan Arabs, i.e. ARABS. They got their Arabian state already in Jordan. Now they want the rest of the former British Mandate although only Hamas is saying it openly, whereas Abbas pretends he would be content with pre-1967 border. But once the islamists gain overhand in the Westjordanland, rockets start raining from there as they do from Gaza. This must never happen.
69. #5
Jane   (09.16.11)
Don't get over-excited, Wissam. Not gonna happen.
70. #7 - sorry they got stuck between two sides in a war
William ,   Israel   (09.16.11)
and even more sorry the side that claims to love them used them cynically against their enemies. But, that doesn't make them Israel's problem. No one stole their land as legally it wasn't theirs. Morally, that's a different issue. many Jews lost their land and their loves when ethnically cleansed by force in 1948. Is that legal in your eyes...JOE? They want a place to call home? We offered it to them - 6 times since 1947, and they still refused. because don't want to call Ramallah home, they want to call MY home their home, and that's unacceptable. Do average "palestinians" want to live in peace and get on with their lives? I believe so. But their leaders insist the world will not be right until Israel is destroyed and Jews ethnically cleansed, and that's just unacceptable, even in NY. If they accepted a State, next to Israel, in peace and coexistence (which again was offered as early as 2006), all this mess would have been over.
71. #9 - ugh, who wants an ugly Roman name anyway?
William ,   Israel   (09.16.11)
Israel is both special and steeped in history. No one would want a Roman-created bastard name....not even the Arabs who decried it's use to describe the region, from 1919-1956. But...here you are...Rome's little bastards.
72. #11 -nice quote
William ,   Israel   (09.16.11)
but that quote, attributed to the US Constitution, has never stated that the rights of one population must be at the expense of the rights of another population. That defeats the "all men are created equal" statement. Ergo, if PA Statehood means - living in peaceful coexistence and self-determination, then you are correct. However, when they start off demanding no Jews or gays will be welcome, and end with "a State will not end our demands on Israel, nor the right to resistance", your quote falls flat.
73. #47 - do you mean 1967 "borders"?
William ,   Israel   (09.16.11)
1947 borders aren't even an option. And per the 1949 Armistice Agreement, those 1967 lines cannot be used as a border nor as a basis for border negotiations. It was the Arabs who insisted that language be added to the Armistice before signing. Yes - the Oslo Accords were dead from the beginning. While Israel was celebrating future peace and handing the PLO weapons, Arafat began planning the destruction of all of Israel and it was caught on tape in South Africa. Better get used to the heat in Amman.
74. Read
Erik ,   Seattle, US   (09.17.11)
The history books. Forming a Palastinian state will open a box we can never close again.
75. External factors leave 1 option: BIG ISRAEL
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (09.16.11)
76. Yeah, and I want
Jon ,   Austin, TX   (09.17.11)
my very own space shuttle for Christmas.. What's your point, Abbas?
77. Obama said contiguous PA state.
gary ,   USA   (09.17.11)
this was never challenged by anyone I know. thought that was odd.Careful!
78. #44 - The UN is awash with terror states. Don't you know?
Harry Wright ,   UK   (09.17.11)
Islam = terror. Check out how many Islamic states there are at the UN. They are only too happy to create yet another one. Suits them fine when it is time to vote. Only one way around that - western countries can pull out and leave them as the United Islamic Nations. Failing that, Islam will rule the roost.
79. Leave Israel alone
Joe ,   Indiana, US   (09.17.11)
Israel doesn't have to 'negotiate' anything. They're on their own land, leave em alone. Have all the Arabs that are "so worried" about the Palestinians take care of them! Israel is surrounded by Arab nations and not one will take them? That's the problem here. No, the REAL problem is the Arabs want to destroy Israel, ain't it? Just admit your hatred and be done with it.
80. Palestinians want full UN membership
ken ,   Oakland, USA   (09.17.11)
81. Palestiians want. . .
ken ,   Oakland, USA   (09.17.11)
And people in Hell want ice water!
82. UN and the PA
Honest John ,   Dallas, TX USA   (09.17.11)
The OBVIOUS deceit in this latest ploy to destroy "the infidel in our midst", is that the PA will say ANYTHING right now to get UN acceptance, THEN fall back on the old "...but Hamas never said they would stop trying to destroy Israel". The fate of Israel is a harbinger of the future - as if any additional examples should be needed since the Armenian genocide not so very long ago and the numerous more contemporary examples of the Islamist view of "co-existence".
83. Obama's fault
RHO ,   Milan, IL   (09.17.11)
Obama has pandered to the radical Muslims. Now the PLO wants to force Israel to cede ground for a Palestinian State. Can anyone see a problem with that? Israel will never let that happen. Start preparing for a major middle east war, and understand it is the fault of Obama.
84. #6 This time.....
Phil ,   Ireland   (09.17.11)
....thought/think again. To receive full membership of the UN, the PA must disengage from Hamas and negotiate a peace deal with Israel.
85. In your dreams
Kimmy ,   US   (09.17.11)
86. to 84
Salma, ,   Palestine   (09.17.11)
I fully agree with you but at the moment we don't have a good and honest leader. We know that Abbas is corrupt and has taken monies belonging to our people.I can't believe that people in jail get wages. What should we do?An up-rising against our corrupt leaders? We are not in Egypt etc.
87. Israel / Palestine
dblais ,   va beach USA   (09.17.11)
In your dreams Wissam. Palestinian state or not, Israel will never cease to exist. If it did'nt, trust me, you and your folks won't be around to see it either.
88. Thank You Obama
Maxwell ,   NYC   (09.17.11)
Claiming to support a Palestinian state while campaigning in 2008 Obama has empowered Abbas. Now Abbas is moving to force Obama to make a choice. How ironic.. The same campaign rhetoric that won Obama a 'Nobel Peace Prize' will now cause more bloodshed in the middle east. Obama has not only failed America, he's failed America's friends too.
89. #86: The answer to: "What should we do?" Move to Jordan.
Chaim ,   Israel   (09.17.11)
#86 Salma. The answer to your question: "What should we do?" Move to Jordan. Palestine is forever fictional. It's time to face up to reality.
90. Palestine? Filistine? Filibuster?
Sam ,   Miami, Florida   (09.17.11)
Abbas, PLO, Hamas, all are sh..t starting from the piggiest of the pigs, Arafat. Golda once said "we'll have peace only once they will love their children more than they hate us". This is the truth. If someone wants peace doesn't go out a provokes a continuous state of war but tries to finish up the previous deals to which they had previously agreed. This is the problem : they cannot stand by what they agree. No honor, no nothing. First let them abide by the agreements and then get to statehood.
