Now we learn from Maariv that Obama has political operatives in Israel trying to unseat Netanyahu & glue Tzipi to the PMs seat. The self-loathing Jew York Times has been running an unending onslought of Netanyahu hate editorial opinion pieces. Obama knows he's in trouble with Jewish voters and he wants to shift the blame entirely ro Bibi. People like David Axelrod don't sleep. Being a “provincial” Canadian, I am not fully knowledgeable regarding newspapers. However, I did notice three “sister” leftist newspapers that indulge in anti Israel propaganda. Haaretz, the Toronto Star and the NY Times. They borrow from each other and conceivably coordinate with each other.

I'm surprised at you Mr. friedman for this line you have used. I have read many books over the years that have shown that those people that stick to their principals when all others around them tell them they are wrong eventually prove themselves to be correct. We Jews who see through clear eyes know Israel has to stand up even if alone. When the world decides to put pressure on the Palestinians maybe something will finally resolve itself.

Harry Truman recognized the partition of Palestine and independence of Israel when in a position similar to Obama's: money was desperately needed for the 1948 and, as Margaret Truman related in her book, the Democrat Party faced loss of many millions of dollars if Truman did not support Israel. A better choice for Obama would be to sacrifice re-election in favor of doing something genuinely effective in settling the peace issue, like recognizing Palestine in the UNSC. That will give him a place in history. Obama should adopt the position of another famous American who said "Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead."

A columnist for the New York Times and author. Big Deal. He is given an ear-because he was one of the the first Jewish American to adopt the Arab narrative and write about it. He seems to have no sympathy for Israel or it's issues i.e terror. He should have a different last name, then he would not be considered such an expert. I find him vile because he represents one side of the story while having an obvious Jewish name. He has leveraged that name to give himself more expertise to disrespect Israel.

As an American I can't express my frustration with this situation. Our congressional leaders have sold out to AIPAC and our President is hesitant to act responsibly because of his upcoming election. Israel got itself into this mess and has totally isolated itself. America should not follow suit. Jews are only 2% of our population and much of the other 98% of Americans want to see an end to this situation and see a two state solution. Our leaders need to do what's right for America and the current situation is not it.
