If it's already announcing it's secular style, it can't be too pro-Israel. These are welcome news, but also confusing ones. The point of confusion is the non-existing answer to the question "who is a Jew?" Defining "Jew" by its culture, not religion, will be the essence of this project's survival. Take me for instance -- I will not tune in to this channel if I catch the slightest whiff of mystical faith in it. I will listen to this channel and buy products from its sponsors if the Jewish culture and world reality are guiding it. Guide it close to the news in a secular sense and I can guarantee the project's success.

If the new news channel will be directed to a jewish audience only it will make no sense. It will be preaching to the converts. What would be interesting was a Israeli Al Jazeera in Arabic to counter Al Jazeera anti Israel bias.
