31. #9 yeah you made aliyah when you were tool old for army
(09.22.11)
well done.
32. #24 explain why Jewish population has grown massively though
American Ashley   (09.22.11)
if its that bad, why have they grown
33. #16 that said.. UK held its triple A rating where USA lost
(09.22.11)
their rating. Thanks to the Muslim president. I can gather from your message that you are not that clued up.
34. I will only buy AHAVA from now
(09.22.11)
35. No. 23
(09.22.11)
Putting aside the fact that your talkback is riddled with bullshit...such as land being "taken away" from poor people. Try reading some history before you go off half-cocked. However, do you also boycott products from China...a first-class human right abuser? Good luck trying to do that these days And while it's easy to boycott things like cosmetics, try giving up anything technological that's developed or manufactured in Israel...and then see how you like it.
36. There are other AHAVA stores in London
Israeli grandma   (09.22.11)
On a recent visit my attention was drawn to sounds of Hebrew conversation. I was passing the AHAVA display in that excellent shop John Lewis. I hope that the AHAVA people will try to get legal redress against the victimisation by the pro-Pal groupies.
37. Really funny - hilarious even
Vernon Marriott ,   Jerusalem   (09.22.11)
1) It's hilarious that people (with appalling English) on these talkbacks imply or state that this is an attack on Jews - when the shop was open on Shabbat 2) It's funny that the misreporting or mistranslation of ynet implies that people living near the shop didn't like the protests. In fact - no one lives within 100 metres of the store (its like a shopping mall). I worked close to it for four years and spent a lot of time there - and except for the homeless, there's no one there. 3) The UK is a free country and one can boycott and protest as much as one likes, provided it's peaceful, Violent protestors have been charged and convicted when they got out of hand at Ahava 4) Ahava has it's plant around 2km inside the territories. Why don't they move it 2km south and stop all this nonsense.
38. Protesting At the weekend....
Joe ,   London, UK   (09.22.11)
I am surprised we havent heard from the Chareidi section yet. it didnt take long, as here I am - the level headed Charedi! (Whatever that awful word repesents...) For if this store were to have been closed (as indeed it should have been) on Shabbat, there would not have been any demonstrations which would have meant that the store could be profitable as the compensation for being closed on this day would have been well compensated for on Sunday (in addition to the Kiddush Hashem it would have presented) Why did our cousins decide to demonstrate on our day of rest and not pick any other day of week? Perhaps it's a sign? Who knows! But as an embarrassed Londoner, it's a shame that we have had to retreat and 'give in' but on the other hand, it's a shame that this store had to remain open on Shabbat, in the first place. Elal only became profitable once it stopped flying - officially - on Shabbat (thank you, King Menachem Begin, z'l) Many lessons could be learned from that and from Begin... And to those of you who say that they would have demonstrated on Sunday... they didnt and so your argument remains flat on its face) We are Jews and need the world to know and realize that we work withi the perameters of our hreligion, whatever and however bad we think the consequences will be!
39. #23, I don't buy UK products b/c of this ..
ita ,   israel   (09.22.11)
if people in the UK are so blind to see what is going on they will not get one morsel of my money.
40.  AHAVA closes London store
Niss ,   uk   (09.22.11)
shame this will incourage pro-Palestinian to do this to other shops, places because it worked for them some jewish backed organization should have backed Ahava to remain open
41. I would say what goes around comes around, only
Talula ,   Israel   (09.22.11)
the Palestinians don't have a branch of anything outside Gaza and the West Bank, their only branches are of terriorism. Shame for the people who'd love to boycott them. Shows how useless they are.
42. #23 HA HA HA HA YOU ABSOLUTE MORON!!!!
Talula ,   Israel   (09.22.11)
I heard they are looking for useless actors for the selling channel products, maybe you should apply - or if they won't accept you, maybe you can go get yourself an education.
43. Your right VK
Lee (UK) ,   UK   (09.22.11)
as a Jew in Leeds I am disgusted with the apathy shown by the Jewish community in the UK. If I had lived or been anywhere near ( I am 200 miles away) then I would have stood there by self if I had to.
44. ahava, london - another victim of the settlers...
eporue ,   europe   (09.22.11)
...more to follow most likely...
45. Our counter demonstration
Harvey ,   London   (09.22.11)
The BDS did indeed succeed in closing Ahava . I was one of a small group of israel supporters who regularly turned up to counter the vicious lies and propaganda disseminated by the BDS movement . We were joined each week by several welsh Christian friends of israel who travelled all the way from Cardiff and the valleys in order to express their love and support for Israel. Ahava was subject to aggravated criminal trespass on several occasions but chose to press charges just once with the trespassers found guilty as charged . Why just once ? Ahava s neighbours complain about disruption to their business and blame ahava instead of the fascists demonstrating outside . Why did ahava not seek a court injunction limiting the protest to once a month and limited to no more then two at a time These maladjusted ne'er do wells are the same reprobates who ruined the IPO concert . Finally why have ahava not seen fit to relocate to north London perhaps to one of the large private shopping malls . This sort of behavior would not be tolerated and would be actionable as aggravated trespass . This is not about Ahava per se . Ahava is a metaphor for the closing down of Israel . The BDS will be empowered by this success and strive for ever increasing Israeli targets . Ahavas failure to stand firm is a shocking indictment of a company that fails to see further than its bottom line .
46. The Brits better star looking for
(09.22.11)
47. Palestinian products
Mike Hunt ,   NYC USA   (09.22.11)
In the mean time the main products the palestinians have ever been able to export are waste products: Little criminals, drug dealers and terrorists. It costs western society billions to help sustain the palestinian territories that are essentially disfunctional and corrupt. And it cost western society a lot too in falsly deserved benefits and keeping these criminals in prison also bears a heavy cost. Instead of spitting on free and overgenerous society like Europe and the US that accomodate them, Palestinians should assess what contribution they bring to the world before they prevent other people from working and distributing good products.
48. Then, somebody explained to me that the product came from la
Lee (UK) ,   UK   (09.22.11)
What?? Who told you this and worse you believe it? If you are refering to the W Bank it is disputed land taken in war from the State of Jordan, not the Palestinians. Disputed means exactly that not stolen. If you mean Israel in general then you are talking about a member State of the UN whos land is soveriegn territory. Who's land has exactly been taken?
49. Good to see Ahava paying for its colonist fraud
European Israeli ,   Frankfurt   (09.22.11)
50. Ahava has my support from now on
KO ,   Surrey   (09.22.11)
51. Easy solution... make the store mobile and difficult
seadog1946 ,   Arthur Kill, NJ   (09.22.11)
for the protestors to locate. Perhaps a large pushcart. An even easier solution... go online.
52. don't worry, British ladies are the ones loose out!
mary of Bethany ,   singapore   (09.22.11)
... so import to the rest of the world, try the chinese, the indians... esp the Chinese don't care about politics. Singapore loves Ahava, Brits gals can get Hamas-Dung for facial if they desire, who cares? then the rest of the world will get prettier, and the British ladies get "........" (mmm leave it to your imagination... don't want to be offensive.) . 8-)
53. The only losers in this story are the nice shoppers.
robert renders ,   belgium   (09.22.11)
54. kristallnacht
jes ,   tel aviv   (09.22.11)
watch out london, soon they'll be boycotting burberry...
55. I am not surprised! They boycott Israel but Syria?
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (09.22.11)
Not a word! One thing is certain. That this boozing nation whose, people laud 8 year old kids cage fighting in a pub, has lost the basic sense of what is right and what is wrong. Napoleon called the British a "nation of shopkeepers". Actually, after the recent riots that should be changed to "a nation of shoplifters" who know nothing else but getting drunk, killing kids and who think that ASBO,s are more important than getting a job. A natiol that has become one of elbow lifters and drunks and a man who is married to the Queen's granddaughter and is captain of the English Rugby Team, gets drunk in a pub in New Zealand and can't keep it in his pants! Ahava, don't cast pearls before swine. They aren't worth it. In any case the women of Britain will have to cover their heads and wear a hijab so who cares what they look like!
56. AHAVA
charlotte ,   UK   (09.22.11)
I'm only buying AHAVA from now on--even if I have to order it by mail.
57. Buy ahava
Sam M ,   UK   (09.22.11)
I'v just had a quick look through websites selling ahava products and the good news is that there are literally hundreds if not thousands of them so anyone who wants to buy ahava wont have any problems at all. It looks like the idiots who devote their lives to boycotting Israeli products have hardly even scratched the surface!! Buy and enjoy!
58. AHAVA means love in Hebrew
Logic ,   Israel   (09.22.11)
FYI for those who don't know the symbolism.
59. The last line of the article says it all:
Rebecca ,   Israel   (09.22.11)
a source in the Palestine Solidarity Campaign said Tuesday... "Getting rid of AHAVA is just the first step." Getting rid of LOVE is just the first step...
60. maybe time to boycott LUSH
oferdesade ,   israel   (09.22.11)
... who helped financed the "peace" flotilla?
