61. #45 - which bible are you referring to?
William ,   Israel   (09.30.11)
"Palestine" was never mentioned in the bible as it was originally a province in Syria, who's name was used by Romans to cut Jewish ties to their homeland in 70AD. It's not even mentioned in the Kuran, Anton. By the way, neither is Jerusalem. Al-Quds just refers to some far away mosque, which some Muslim scholars believe is really Medina. Despite all of the digging, and the research, not one factual shred exists to tie Muslims or Muhammed to the Jewish holy city. But the Islamic precedents of invading and usurping holy cities of others, renaming them, building on holy sites with mosques, then changing history to reflect a "native Muslim presence" there are plentiful. Just as the Indians. BTW - things like recognition of one State by another State is not a popular vote issue, it's a Foreign Policy issue and falls in the lap of the President, and is usually based on political issues at hand. If you're so supportive of "popular votes" then why decry the US for the VETO when the majority of Americans DO NOT support a terrorist State with ill intent on Israel's borders?
62. #55 tea man - Maybe you noticed how
BEN JABO ,   ISRAEL   (09.30.11)
Congress reacted to Netanyahu, give him at least 29 standing ovations from BOTH sides of the aisle Obama, first & foremost is concerned with his re-election in 2010, he isn't about to jeapordize his chance Palestine can't become a state, it's against the UN Charter, for the following reasons, pay attention to the last paragraph & Article TEN “The General Assembly may discuss any questions or any matters within the scope of the present Charter or relating to the powers and functions of any organs provided for in the present Charter, and, except as provided in Article 12, may make recommendations to the Members of the United Nations or to the Security Council or to both on any such questions or matters.” The UN Charter does not grant the General Assembly or the International Court of Justice (ICJ) the authority to enact or amend international law. The General Assembly actually lacks the competence to enact general international law. One may easily reach the conclusion that UN member states act on the basis of political concerns, not on fair or legal ground. Professor, Judge Schwebel, former President of the International Court of Justice stated: “The General Assembly of the United Nations can only, in principle, issue ‘recommendation’ which are not of a binding character, according to Article 10 of the Charter of the United Nations.”
63. a un bid.
sjoerd ruurd van der ,   mankindship   (09.30.11)
the more support for a state for the palestinian people the better it is in that case and so on....
64. #55 - "there's too much at stake here"
William ,   Israel   (09.30.11)
Arab oil, Arab terrorism, Arab bloc in the UN. Yep. Although, when Israel taps its huge gas field and the West begins to move away from a petroleum economy, you can bet the stakes will change. Had oil NOT been found in the ME desert - you'd still be just a bunch of illiterate desert camel herding tribes. Now, you're just a bunch of illiterate car-driving, conspiracy theory peddling, racist tribes. Not really much difference the oil has brought you, huh?
65. Nigeria has 36 states. 20 dye hard Christian States that support Israel.
Prince ,   Niger Delta, Nigeria   (09.30.11)
Nigeria has 36 states. 12 muslim states with 20 dye hard Christian States that support Israel plus 4 states that are shared by both. Don't ever refer Nigeria as an Islamic State because of past Islamic military head of states that wanted to dragged it into OIC
66. #63 sjoerd ruurd van
