61. Barbaians at the gater
Al ,   falls Church, VA USA   (10.19.11)
They go by many names, Palestinian, Egyptian, Libyan, Syrian, Saudi, iranian BARBARIANS in Human vessels. Keep making concessions to followers of the religion of peace and soon enough you'll be in a body bag.
62. journalistic sadism I am stunned...
nikki ,   NY USA   (10.19.11)
WOW ! How calm, eerily cheerful, seemingly benign yet utterly heartless are her bizarre questions to an obviously very weak , very stressed, shaken and confused and malnourished captive yet to actually be released. Insensitive, leading, pandering , propogandizing and cruel and unprofessional of the reporter to say the least. Incredibly inappropriate almost insane questions to ask such a person..... The reporter could win an oscar playing an SS interrogator as if she watched too many such movies to hone her craft.
63. Amin and Anapour =2 despicable pseudo-jpournalists
nikki ,   NY USA   (10.19.11)
2 despicable women without the humanity to be on this planet.
64. shalit interview
nancy ,   usa   (10.19.11)
the Egyptians are drek. He looks sick. The Palestinian convicts looked pretty healthy when they wer released.
65. Oh give her a break! She's an "Arab" journalist after all
Brian Cohen ,   Judean Peoples Front   (10.19.11)
I don't think that Shahira Amin did such a bad job for an Arab journalist. In fact, I thought that given the circumstances, she simply did her job well. Remember, folks, that her job is NOT to be a real journalist, but rather a hostess for a state-owned and run Arab government tv station - of which there are hundreds and NONE of which have proper journalistic integrity or morals. My only beef with Shahira Amin is that she didn't have the courage to refer to "the prisoners" as anything but "the prisoners". She's just another Arab propagandist doing her job. She also is another Arab who simply refuses to acknowledge, let alone mention, that hundreds of these "prisoners" Shahira Amin wanted "free" are convicted murderers and war criminals.

67. Forced Interview
John Steele ,   San Francisco -USA   (10.19.11)
Radical Muslims are cancer that needs to be removed form the earth.
68. REALLY?!?! .... Yes I am going home with my lost youth lost
nikki ,   ny usa   (10.19.11)
innocence lost years, bruises, stress malnoutrition, emotional and physical scars, 5 years lost from my loved ones and yes ABSOLUTELY asap yes I am going to go home join greenpeace save the whales and also by the way campaign relentlessly for the release of every enemy of my country cause you guys have been such a blast. I get it now! Thanks for asking!
69. The usual ungrateful attitude towards Egyptians
Dalia Abusharr ,   Brooklyn, USA   (10.19.11)
Shahira Amin obtained permission for the interview including Gilad himself agreeing to the interview but the ungrateful posters here to Egyptian efforts to release him and Egyptians for 30 years guarding the best interest of Israel is the usual we get. I blame Egyptian officials for getting involved in anything in regards to Palestinian-Israeli negotiations or deals
70. interview some terrorists before they go to Gaza
Duno Domingo ,   Vancouver, Canada   (10.19.11)
and have a little fun with it. ask the terrorists if they think Israel should allow more terrorists to be released...or ask the terrorists if they believe they are terrorists or freedom fighters...let people see just how stupid these extremists are. I bet most of them are delusional and through interviews most Arabs watching the interviews would probably begin to think the terrorists are better off in jail and far away from the public!
71. The animals are running the zoo.
ross ,   annandale USA   (10.19.11)
Egypt is slowly slipping into being just another mid east Islamic hell hole.
72. Hatred: Arabs
Phineaus Ferb ,   Seattle, Washington   (10.19.11)
When Arabs recognize Israel as a country then they can be acknowledged as something other than hateful people. Until then (it will never happen), the West should carpet bomb them all.
73. "Any decent human being"...?
Mike R ,   USA   (10.19.11)
It is a miracle that this young soldier is even alive following 5 years of captivity. "Decent....?" His captors and those who support them decidedly are not "decent"... including the dunce who interviewed him. Now, that interview was indecent.
74. Journalistic "ethics?"
John IV ,   Cincinnati, OH   (10.19.11)
Ethics in journalism died a long, slow death, and this woman proves that it is world-wide. Print only "who, what, when, where, and why" is no longer the standard. Print only the facts, untarnished by personal or political opinion of the writer, editor, or publisher, is no longer is no longer the goal of professional newspaper writers and their cousins in the electronic media. Ethical and moral standards are chapters torn from the textbooks. Where have all the true professionals gone?
75. Hypocrisy
Susan ,   Bell USA   (10.19.11)
Such glaring hypocrisy. First she asks if captivity has "made (Galit) stronger," yet wants to know if he'll support freedom for Palestinians jailed in Israel. What? Won't it make them "stronger" too? Hmph.
76. Will she speak out
David ,   New England   (10.19.11)
-against the rape and forced conversions of Egyptian Coptic women? What about them murdering Copts?
77. Shocked?
Don Schreiber ,   Missouri, US   (10.19.11)
How could anyone be shocked at ANYTHING they do?
78. Shahira Amin - unforgivable
Sara ,   Boston, MA   (10.20.11)
What Shahira Amin did was absolutely disgusting and there is no excuse for it. "She didn't know" - she couldn't see the Hamas gunman at Gilad's back? Not only did her interview go against the agreed-upon plan for the day, but this poor prisoner hadn't seen the sun in five years, nevertheless a Red Cross official. How could she think he'd really want to take the time to speak with her, before anything else? What she did was absolutely cruel, and heartless. Her complete lack of consideration or compassion is, in my opinion, tantamount to torture.
79. Gilad was given a platform to show the world a hero...
Orly ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (10.21.11)
These were the questions everyone wanted to hear Gilad answer at som point, but had little hope he would be allowed to answer on his own. As soon as it became difficult (by repetitive questions and Gilad's difficulty with the English and the bright light) the interview was promply stopped. The Israeli public got a rare opportunity to see the undiluted hero Gilad truly is. He had the chance to say that despite all the speculation regarding the "swap" he didn't expect it to go through and thought he'd be in prison for a long time - yet without any indication that he feared remaining in captivity as long as it would take. Gilad also gave the Israeli public a taste of true objectivity regarding the issue splitting the nation: When asked about his thoughts on the prisoner swap, he responded without personal bias, neither as a captive nor as a freed man, but only that this was the price being offered for his return and that if the elements making the deal wanted him back then this was the price they had to pay (and apparently they did want him that much) - a veritable lesson in supply & demand. He even was cool headed enough to take a jab at his captors regarding the question of the frequency of his contact with his homeland by effectively saying: Don't ask me, ask them! In the minutes after his return Gilad showed all of us his bravery in face of a release date that may never have come, his ability to keep cool in captivity despite having no decision-making privelages and complete objectivity regarding the prisoner exchange. Gilad showed us what it means to be a hero and he gave us all a chance to be proud that he serves our country.
80. Interview with Shalit
MONA SEWILAM ,   EGYPT   (10.23.11)
I am a Nile TV correspondent at Egyptian TV. This is to inform you that Shahira Amin lied to CNN, BBC and others when she said that she quit her job because she refused to do biased coverage during Egypt's revolution. I and Nile TV colleagues informed CNN about that and CNN did not care to put the truth on the screen. They made a hero out of her and we were all laughing when she told us that Hillary Clinton asked to be interviewed by her because of her ethical position during the revolution. We wrote a petition that we did not want her back as she never talked journalism ethics or freedom of expression when she was vice president of Nile TV. But Egyptian TV could not get her to resign because she did not write a paper asking to resign and now she will be supporting the new regime whoever that might be. Her sole concern was to monopolize all TV coverage of ex-president Mubarak and his wife and she did succeed... I am glad the Israelis discovered who she is. Please inform CNN!!
