1. Palestine Israel is the only option now
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (11.16.11)
2 States, 1 Country, with 5.7M Jews, and 8.7M native Palestinians in Israel, Gaza, the West Bank, and outside refugees.
2. Whatever lieberman is . . .
nibot ,   israel   (11.16.11)
There is no Arab country Tibi would be allowed to talk like that. There is also no country in the world that would permit a parliament or representative talk like that What does he think to himself?
3.  who do not like it can drink from the Dead Sea : )
Salma ,   Palestine   (11.16.11)
I love you , Dr. Tibi, I love your courage, I Love every thing in you. Man you are great.
4. Tibi is one of Israel's double agents.
Israeli 2   (11.16.11)
5. Ironically, Yaser Arafat was Egyptian
Mark ,   Maale Adumim   (11.16.11)
.... ditto
6. Tibi needs only to fear a law against stupidity
Charles   (11.16.11)
He'd be facing hard time if that were true. Fortunately for him, being stupid is not a crime - but in the court of public opinion we uphold his self-inflicted sentence of being the knesset idiot.
7. How come
Mike S ,   Phoenix, USA   (11.16.11)
Israel (Bibi) is always bragging that the 1 million Arabs living in Israel are the only ones who enjoy real democracy in the Middle East? I mean this Tibi guy obviously doesn't think so. I believe him more because he represents them, otherwise he wouldn't have been in his current position.
8. If Tibi's words aren't incitement, what is?
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (11.16.11)
Tibi should be stripped of his parliamentary immunity (a privilege I oppose in principle) and sanctioned. No self-respecting country would put up with such behavior.
9. You are wright Tibi you should go to Gaza to be free
Mike ,   Raanana Israel   (11.16.11)
10. Would America let Al Quaeda sit in Congress?
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.16.11)
No other western democracy would even dream of allowing it's mortal foes to sit in it's governing bodies. Would America let Al Quaeda sit inj Congress? The time is long overdue to ban Arab parties from the Knesset. Ignore the howls of the wack job extreme left. America would NEVER allow such an abomination. Neither should Israel.
11. Chaim / 10 I don't know....
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (11.16.11)
Look what we have in our White House.
12. Israel's Mature Democracy
Ari Ben Canaan   (11.16.11)
Imagine if in America, a member of Congress spoke to a rally of Mexican nationalists (on soil outside of American jurisdiction) and spoke of how "those fascist settlers in Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and California are invading my homeland." Imagine if a member of Congress spoke with leaders from the Taliban and ripped on the American government. No sane democracy would ever tolerate this insubordinate behavior. Anyone who calls Israel an "apartheid" state -- this is evidence that you are dead wrong. The fact that the likes of Zoabi and Tibi can behave the way they do shows that Israel's democracy is MORE MATURE than that of France, UK, and dare I say it, the US.
13. "Palestine" -- a phony name
Alfredo ,   Raanana   (11.16.11)
The Romas in 132 AD changed the name of Judea to "Palestine" -- after the Philistines who had disappeared from history hundreds of years earlier. No one used the name "Palestine", not even the Turks, until the European colonialists in the 20th century. The "palestinian" identity is a phony as the name. And by the way, they owe us RENT for conquering and destroying living in our land all these years! They received 3/4 of the "Palestine" mandate from the British in 1922 and that IS the "Palestinian" state --- if there must be one.
14. To #10
Mike S ,   Phoenix, USA   (11.16.11)
Yes, if they were democratically elected they would make it to the Congress.
15. Hey, Ahmed!
A ,   Belgium   (11.16.11)
Hold that idea, you might be on to something!
16. Tibi prooves to the world that Israel is ....
Nora Tel Aviv   (11.16.11)
...a true democracy. If it wasn`t, Tibi would be in prison now.
17. ONE STATE?
DAN ,   FLORIDA   (11.16.11)
Steve how easy it is for you to deal away ones country while sitting safely in front of your fireplace enjoying all the comforts of home and personal safety. The Allies did that before WWII with Czechoslovakia. The end result was 65 million people dead including 6 million Jews. A state is NOT what the Palestinians want or they would have had one 64 years ago. They only desire to kill Jews and destroy Israel. War may ultimately come again to the Middle East but your "solution" is a death sentence for all Israeli's and another diaspora will result. We Jews have a homeland. We have the 3600 year old deed from God. Israel is a land where I am free to exercise my faith daily out in the open. There are 122 other nations and 11 Islamic nations that Palestinians may inhabit securely. Ask yourself why whenever Palestinians seek succor from another nation that nation is repaid with chaos?
18. Actualy is not a bad idea as....
Avram Goldsmith ,   Toronto, Canada   (11.16.11)
This paranoid passage look very much as Shakespearen a bit more dramatic, specialize in sound effect immitating a fort.
19. To Salma : Your line look like Desdemona role
Avaram Goldsmith ,   Toronto, Canada   (11.16.11)
From Otello and the end it is..... read it.
20. New Preconditions
Toronto Jew ,   Toronto   (11.16.11)
"Abbas also mentioned the Palestinian prisoners issue, saying it must be resolved before any agreement can be reached." The Pals never cease to push the limit as to what the require in order to negotiate and reach peace. I say you made your 'bed', now sleep in it.
21. #12 true democracy?
Rachel   (11.16.11)
I beg to differ. A democracy does not mean every idiot can spread treacherous ideas, racist speeches etc... this is NOT freedom of speech if it hurts the country. This loony needs to be muyyled- strip him of his cushy government post- that will show him who is paying. You are wrong in thinking allowing this is democracy. IF someone in a european government started spewing Anti semitic slogans - how quick would you guys be up in arms? This Tibi mouth is doing the equivalent- and you call this democracy? Think again- this is NOTHING to be proud of. Shut him up. Throw him out of the Knesset- THAT is democracy.
22. It's also Lieberman's homeland, Tibi
William ,   Israel   (11.16.11)
and its the homeland of all the Jewish nation. Whether Tibi accepts it or not, Israel is the Jewish State and a sovereign nation since 1948. We're not colonialists or occupiers, we're people living in our homeland. And as such, we have the sovereign right to manage issues of immigration, which includes allowing Lieberman to immigrate and participate in the State just as any other citizen has the right to do. There is no "us" and "them" mentality except among Israeli Arabs and that is unacceptable in a working democracy.
23. #1 - if you really mean "native Palestinians"
William ,   Israel   (11.16.11)
then the number drops to well below 3 million, when you remove all of those illegal economic migrants from the 1930s from places like Bosnia, Iraq, and Arabia, and the illegal immigrants forced into Jewish land by Jordan between 1949-1967 which was a war crime under the Geneva Convention. That more manageable and still provides a Jewish majority. However, most Arabs outside of Israel were fed a life of racist, dehumanizing propaganda about Jews and will be nothing close to a loyal, peaceful population. Ergo, 2-State solution is the only way. Full sovereignty for "Palestinians" over their own affairs, their own govt, and their own refugees inside their own State is optimal.
24. #3 - love him enough to have him as your leader?
William ,   Israel   (11.16.11)
After we give the PA some Arab towns which includes Tibi's home, he's going to need a job and he needs to know he has your support for the corner office over looking Arafat's grave in Ramallah.
25. #7 - yes and no, Mike
William ,   Israel   (11.16.11)
The points MK Tibi is bringing up are actually not fully the State's doing. The Israeli Arab community has done its utmost to NOT integrate with the rest of the State, including not paying taxes in full, not doing even National Service in lieu of mandatory military service, and being involved in incitement against non-Arabs which is a crime in the US and other nations. There are issues of disparity which are typical in a multi-cultural democracy, and not State-policy. Again, similar issues seen in other global democracies. The Israeli Arab MKs answer is to have 51% of the power given to them with Jews to have 49% of the power, even though Arabs are in the minority (about 22%). That's called Apartheid and is unacceptable. I lived, worked, schooled, received healthcare, stood in unemployment lines, vacationed, drove on the same roads - as Israeli Arabs. They are equal and its enshrined in law. The telling difference, which you do not see in Pheonix, is that many Israeli MKs have lost the mandate of Israeli Arabs because they spend their time bad-mouthing the State and spreading incitement rather than dealing with the everyday issues facing Israeli Arabs. It's the same in the US as the Republican party focusing their efforts on removing Obama and bad-mouthing the Democrats than actually doing their jobs. And also, in the Arab world, you always make gains if you bad-mouth Israel. That's just a fact steeped in racism.
26. #12 - they did, remember?
William ,   Israel   (11.16.11)
Congress invited the President of Mexico to address them. Calderon spent the entire speech lambasting the US, blaming them for Mexico's ills, and demanding the US give free access to the country by Mexican immigrants. He received a standing ovation by the Democrats led by Pelosi; NOTHING from the Republicans who saw it as an insult by Mexico and a selling out by the Socialists of the Left.
27. Racism in Israel
David ,   San Francisco, CA   (11.16.11)
Has reached record levels! And it is unquestionably because this current Israeli government turns a blind eye to it! Tibi is speaking the truth! We all see the road Israel is going down- one of apartheid and severe discrimination against not only the occupied Palestinians, but the ones who are Israeli citizens. The right wing in Israel has a major voice now, but sadly it will be this voice that leads to ONE bi-national state in which Palestinians are the majority! And no, Arafat was not an Egyptian. He was born to wealthy Palestinian parents from Jerusalem and Gaza, who had a second home in Cairo! Using this logic, very few Israeli politicians are "Israeli." In fact most are not! Its a made up nationality! Even your buddy Leiberman still speaks with his Russian accent!
28. Soon will be out
GG   (11.16.11)
Mr. Tibi, i think your time has run out. Soon will be out of knesset.
29. To: No. 27
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.16.11)
Any Arab who is unhappy living in the Jewish State is free to leave at any time.
30. Time's almost up for this ridiculous situation
Scott ,   Australia   (11.16.11)
It cant last. It wont. We all know where this is going and have pretty good idea - how it will end.
