M. Hartley ,   Atlanta, US   (12.02.11)
The same thing that happens when one of them falls in love with a Jew???? Boyohboy, you should hear that!!! That train seems to make the same noise running in both directions......
32. Shameful jews
Sam ,   Usa   (12.02.11)
When did we become so afraid of the other? For thousands of years Jews lived among people of other religions. Its a real shame that we are too afraid to share with others. I blame the rabbis who have created overly cloistered communities. We need to grow up and recognize our strength not fear others
33. To those who truly love...
Taz Man ,   USA   (12.02.11)
To the Jews who hate us Christains: That's all right: we still love and support God's true Chosen (Israel), unconditionally. As opposed to the godless Muslims' who seek to destroy Israel, we true Christians' will stand, and if need be, die with you defending your right to God's Holy Land. Everyday, I pray for Israel and for the peace of Jerusalem...the eternal home of the Jewish people. To the Jews' who are open-minded: a helping hand and much love...a love without fear. May God (Ha-Shem) bless all the Jews, especially those who cannot trust; only willful understanding can bridge those doubts. We true Christians' are NOT the enemy...we are your only ally. God bless and may He open the hearts of the fearful! A Christian Zionist
34. Don't they work for free in the vineyards?
Jo   (12.02.11)
If the community does not want them then tell them to go. Using Christains volunteers to work free is nice but not really pleasant ( for both) especially if you don't like them and are all the time suspicious of them. Get paid workers in, far better.
35. I agree with Gayle Sussman #17
RW   (12.02.11)
These people may be very fine and really love Israel, however sooner or later, someone from this group will fall in love with someone Jewish. The main reason why there is so much intermarriage in the Galut is that young Jews intermingle with so many non-Jews in their daily lives. Here in Israel we have plenty of non-religious Jews and the main reason that there is little intermarriage is that they intermingle mostly with other Jews.
36. Problem
(12.02.11)
Just remember what happened on kibbutzim in the past. After the Six Day War, many non-Jewish tourists came to volunteer on kibbutzim. Many romances and marriages with Israelis resulted from this. There were cases where the volunteer converted, but there were lots of cases where they did not. Quite a lot of the Israelis that married them left the country and went to live in their non-Jewish spouses' countries and raise non-Jewish children and grandchildren. As much as these volunteers in Har Bracha want to help us, there are still serious problems involved. I myself wouldn't want to have them as neighbors. I left the US in order to live with other Jews and have my kids marry Jews only.
37. These volunteers shouldn't be offended....
Miriam L. ,   Jerusalem   (12.02.11)
but this can turn into a very big problem. I had a Xtian neighbor here in a Jewish neighborhood in Jerusalem. She was really very nice and I was friendly with her. The first couple of years that we were friends everything was fine, but then little by little, she would throw out a word here and there or make a comment that would arouse my suspicion. Eventually I heard from others that she was an active missionary. I politely put a distance between us just by saying that I was very busy and didn't have free time to spend with her, so our friendship kind of died a natural death. I don't know what the people of Har Bracha can do without causing anti-Semitism. It's too bad that they got involved with them in the first place.
38. WE need more of these friends of Israel! God bless them
Yitzhaq ,   Gush Etzion Israel   (12.02.11)
39. Make peace and be believers in your hearts. (signed) Pagan
Michael ,   California, USA   (12.02.11)
40. How would you feel if Christians spoke this way about Jews?
shaun green ,   pasadena usa   (12.02.11)
If Jews moved into a predominantly Christian or Muslim community we'd be pissed if they were so intolerant. Evangelical Christians are important allies of Israel. You should be careful to preserve that relationship.
41. Accept with grace everyone who supports you
Zev ,   Israel   (12.02.11)
and you will win. If they are not trying to convert you and you are not asked to fraternize with them, don't be so weak. We need all of the friends that we can get.
42. who is steadfast in their believe, doesnt have to fear a mis
eporue ,   europe   (12.02.11)
sionary... imo, you can tell them, when you feel they do, and after a while they give up... imo, one shouldnt cancel a friendly relationship over this... they dont mean bad, they seem just so overly excited about their (usually newly discovered) believe and "club", that they have to tell everyone how great it is...blah...... the other things about them, with "yes to big war", their who-is-who in terms of messiah and antichrist, so their extremism, i think its really worrysome - but globally, and they are also not alone with this...errm...
43. To #17
A JEW   (12.02.11)
Dear Gayle, first a Jew can fall in love with a non-Jew ANYWHERE!, It's not because we are in Israel they cannot fall in love with a non-Jew. The important thing here is we have been so persecuted during so long by the "WRONG Catholics and some christian denominations" that we have to be aware about those GOOD Christian believers that deeply love Israel and the Jewish people and make the difference. I think Hab Braha people need to understand it as the Rabbi did praise G.OD!!! To all the Jewish people posting your anwers here I ask you "Do you know Israel wouldn't be able to survive without the Millions of dollars per year the Real Christians send to Israrel??? did you know that?!!!, B. Netanyahou knows it very well, that's why he always thank them for their support. Let's try to focus on the truth and not on lyes. Shabbat Shalom!
44. Rabbi is wrong. Jew suffered for only 1600 years.
JMK ,   NYC   (12.02.11)
You see the Rabbi is an uneducated fool who does not know history but lives in a fantasy mythical world.
45. Re: 25 Want to bless us?
Ariel Ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim   (12.02.11)
B"H - Just leave us alone. You can't hate Hashem by worshipping a replacement god and "love us" at the same time. It's either-or and you know it. You also know that you are here "to show us the Jesus that you know". Well, we are not interested, thank you. Go home and stay there.
46. Um, hello!
Palestinian   (12.02.11)
Major problem not even discussed here ... Har Bracha is a settlement. Now we have Christian settlers, alongside Jewish settlers, so long as they are not Palestinian, right? What the eff is going on?
47. Har Brach
Stephen ,   Israel   (12.02.11)
We fear what we don't understand and even worse, we don't truly understand what we ourselves believe.
48. Our rejection of xian "friendship" is based on the Torah
geula girl ,   Jerusalem   (12.02.11)
to those xians and Jews who claim any Jews who reject their friendship and oppose their infiltration of our holy land are fearful and suspicious because of anti semitism of the past are ignorant of Torah. We are against you because Hashem is against you and the Torah (halachah) is against you, period. For the rest of you whether or not these xians are missionaries or pro-Israel, they are idolators and Hashem hates idolatry.
49. Open up, integrate, have a healthy gene pool.
Michael ,   California, USA   (12.02.11)
Marranos survived better than Jews did in Spain. Supporting Israel is a great service from those Evangelicals at Har Bracha. Both Jews and Evangelicals can intermingle and thrive as Israelis in a secular state. Citizenship is what matters.

Justaguy ,   CA, USA   (12.02.11)
What you say is true. What makes this difficult is that it is very difficult to tell the difference between person 1, who labors for conversions to increase the political and social power of the group they are a part of, and person 2 who does many or all of the same things because they truly believe eternal life and fellowship for the believer and that unbelief delivers people they care about in Hell. Assuming person 1 and 2 are both misguided, where's the harm in people working to benefit Jewish people and the State of Israel? Seems like the State of Israel, especially the settlers, aren't suffering from an overabundance of allies.
51. To #24 perhaps some do
John ,   Alaska   (12.02.11)
However, Scripture strongly suggests that the Antichrist is the figure you would know as the 12th Imam. Either way, he's a loser. Scripture promises this also.
52. To #27 Chaim - why Israel's heartland?
John ,   Alaska   (12.02.11)
Because that is where you are. Some of us are blessing you in the halls of Academia, some (me) are able only to provide prayers, and some - like your guests - are able to provide physical material comfort and blessing. The actual rebuilding of the Promised Land happens in the promised land. As to the honesty of the Christians that dwell among you, or the discernment of those who lead your communities, you have only the word of both. This can be frightening, and if I could make it less so, I would. I pray that over time, you will have more confidence in both your leaders and the christians that dwell among you, and more than that, that Ha'Shem will bless you with confidence in what He is doing in your land.
53. To #29 I didn't think I'd be posting on this subject
John ,   Alaska   (12.02.11)
Pinchas, that is about the most sexist comment I have read on these boards. Really - I can't remember another that was a criticism of small-minded women. Youre mom might not agree with your assessment.
54. To #35 RW This is might not be a problem
John ,   Alaska   (12.02.11)
If when the two marry, the Christian half of this couple goes through Halachic conversion. Moving from our Covenant to yours without looking back is not a problem, as both worship Ha'Shem. Falling in love with a Jew sounds like the perfect time to see if Judaism is where Ha'Shem wants one. Whether or not the Christian in love with a Jew converts to Judaism, as long as their many children are raised as Jews, then you have lost nothing and gained as many Jews as this couple is blessed with by Ha'Shem.
55. To #44 Actually Rabbi vastly underestimated.
John ,   Alaska   (12.02.11)
Jews have been endangered by populations who have hosted them since Exodus and have been in conflict with people of the land since Genesis. If we want to go back as far as possible. The first conflict can be described as a war of extermination between that portion of humanity not in Covenant with G-d (Cain) and that portion that was in Covenant (Abel).
56. "faith and lifestyle" Never mentions Torah.
Josh   (12.02.11)
Just choose life. What is the big deal? In my experience Evangelicals cannot turn it off. But the cop-out to say this is about an unraveling fabric is bunk. Torah said these things would come to test us. The fact of the matter is that any person learned in Torah and understanding of the rules and obligations cannot be swayed. If the fabric unravels because they are swayed by a stranger who brings a man in as now G-d, then the people are already fallen if you ask me. Of course Eliyahu as an eternal blessing granter in heaven or the ghosts of the fathers, raises issues in my assessment of the fabric of Torah. Rather than viewing it as a cursed labeling of the town, maybe the residents should take the opportunity to "speak of it on your way" to the strangers and do the mitzvah of talking about Torah and our One G-d. Show the Evangelicals you know your stuff and they will leave you alone just as Jesus did. (aka. He administered only to the sinner) First you have to know Torah, of course. Devarim 13 is a test and the people are now being tested. Live with the idea you will be tested.
57. lemons into lemonade
iselin ,   Oslo, Norway   (12.02.11)
I am taken aback by all the invective in the talkbacks. There seems to be a double standard here, but bigotry is always bad no matter who practises it. If the Jewish residents don't want Christian volunteers working free in the vineyards, why don't they offer to take their places? Then they could leave knowing that the vineyards would still be tended. Make a new kibbutz! That would be a constructive way to solve what they see as a problem. Someone said to bring in outside workers, but who would pay them?
58. @45 and 48
Gabriel ,   Leiden, Netherlands   (12.02.11)
You're both as mad as a hatter. For 48 especially, Hashem doesn't hate anybody, you purblind overly orthodox fool. As long as they keep the Noahide laws, they're fine, if my secular memory is correct.
59. #1 gayle et al
solomon ,   bklyn   (12.02.11)
"What happens when a Jew falls in love with one of these volunteers? " It is their own business.
60. #45 ariel, #48 geula
solomon ,   bklyn   (12.02.11)
Of which "halacha" do you speak? Of whose interpretation? Any time anyone needs 'backup' they use the word halacha as a blanket justification (just as Israel-bashers still talk of the Flotilla being boarded in "international waters" as "against international law".) And you can't love HaShem by hating everyone else.
