"Waiting is the best option." Wait for what? For Jews to file passively into gas chambers or their twenty-first century equivalent while the world looks on and does nothing? Or perhaps you think that Israel should wait for Iran to acquire whatever it would take for them to bring to fruition their thirty-two year threat to "wipe the 'Zionist entity' from the map." Here's a news flash, oh deluded one: Israel takes existential threats quite seriously. The words "Never again" resonate quite deeply with us. We do not need "permission" from the United States to attack Iran, and if Iran decides to retaliate by attacking American installations and assets -- hey -- that's YOUR problem. Not Israel's. By the way -- who do you think is responsible for nuclear scientists meeting with accidents, missiles blowing up, nuclear facilities blowing up, STUXNET and DUQU? It's Israel. Please do keep in mind that Israel has tried to stop Iran's nuclear ambitions in the most civilized manner first. That does not mean that we won't push the button should the need arise. Since Israel and the Jewish people get blamed for practically every ill in the world already, it won't much matter to us if we get blamed for yet one more thing. We're going to survive. What the United States chooses to do or not do is entirely up to the United States.

All you have is one-liners, sans substance Despite your wishes, Congress won't allow aid to Israel to be cut off Maybe you noticed how Netanyahu received more than 29 standing ovations from both sides of the aisle when he spoke before Congress The latest Gallup poll indicates that 63% of American's favor Israel, that is why Obama is trying to suck up to the Jewish vote USA didn't create Israel; we came into being 3400 years before America was founded, or 2400 years years before Mohammed thought of creating the Muslim religion Haven't you noticed that your Arab Spring has turned into a bitter winter? Syrian's killing each other by the thousands, more bombings in Iraq, Libya's factions fighting with each other, not to mention the failed election in Egypt, where the Muslim Brotherhood claims they won the election and the army refused to turn over control I'll put it up to you, name a single Arab Democracy that exists or ever existed? Frankenstein’s Monster, you might want to look at how your brothers are behaving, Body counts included www.thereligionofpeace.com Isn’t really all that peaceful, the only peace it knows is the peace of the dead, which you have mutiliated & killed

Iran is the monster Frankenstein, with Hezbollah, Hamas, PA, PLO, Syria and the Muslim Brotherhood also vying for the title. But you don't ‘get it', do you?

Israel would be unleashed if the U.S. cut "aid" to her. The only reason Israel is still fighting a defeated enemy is because the U.S. intervenes every time a war breaks out.

Israel's secrecy surely troubles the obama administration...almost as much as his buddy Ahmadinejad. The moment Israel tells obama its plans is the moment Iran will learn of them. How naive can the impostor in the White House think Israel is, regarding obama's intentions to betray you at every opportunity it can. He is not only your enemy...he is OUR enemy. - Yes, I am an American!

Please don't jump whenever a news-agency like the British Reuters strews some opinion pieces in lieu of hard events. Every gov.ment is riddled with talkative people or outright moles...nothing is a sure thing the way it's printed. Every day they need to throw new sensationalist pieces to the restless people to keep them occupied.

Israel has no better friend than the US. Just because Obama doesn't kiss Israels a$$ doesn't mean we don't use our VETO when we have to. Also it would be in Israel's interest to tell us when we will be involved in a war because we do have dozens of navy ships, tens of thousands of soldiers near Iran along with hundreds of warplanes that most likely will come under attack. The US has it's own interest just like Israel has it's interest and who say's we can trust that habitual liar BIBI.
43. Keep the White House in the dark.

Israel has every reason NOT to trust the present President of the USA. Barak HUSSEIN Obama. He and and his sidekicks have time and time again shown that they are pro Arab and anti Israel and look at what's happening now. Obama is trying his best to water down sanctions and Iran and he has just rewarded Assad of Syria by sending the USA Ambassador back to Syria.

A lot of people saying the President is in league with this group and that we orchestrated the overthrow of the pro-American shah (strange thing to do if we did). I highly doubt our president actually has such connections, but there is a real problem with him. Obama is too weak. He is indecisive and has this desire to be friends with everyone. He doesn't realise that this isn't an after school special where you can become friends with the neighbourhood bully. This is real life. If you give a group like the Iranian government too much slack, they'll take the whole rope. Obama doesn't seem to realise this. He thinks he can resolve our issues with Iran through diplomacy and strong/weak words. This is not a President who can really stand up for himself and the country (alright, maybe for himself; he is a great campaigner!) to the dangers of the world; and quite frankly, I don't think he would make any sort of good war president if it ever came to that. A lot of people complain about American imperialism, but the fact is that even though the world still stinks when we are in charge, it's a lot better to have a strong America and stable world than the alternatives. We need a strong leader of the Free World.

I think the two of you have thoroughly refuted the general silliness of that post (I use silliness as a euphemism for much meaner terms). Excellent work. I don't mean this to be an attack on Australians, but why do so many talk so tough on this site when they are so isolated from the rest of the world and its issues? (same can be said of Americans, but we DO take an active role)

Why should Israel place the interests of the United States above Israel's existential concerns? The U.S. is not the be-all and end-all, and we could care less about your veto power. When will you finally figure out that Israel's interests and the interests of the United States run parallel. Israel, after all, has never called the United States "the great Satan" and Israelis -- the Jewish ones, at any rate -- do not burn American flags or chant "Death to America." I suggest you keep that in mind.

Wrong. When you have the God of Israel on your side it doesn't matter which way the tide is flowing. 1948 would be a good example. When you have Allah on your side you are going to get the short end of the stick. The 6 day war is a good example but you never learn do you?

Skip the mandatory "Never again" emotionalism, and use your damn head on this one. Israel has hit the operational limits in this affair. You cannot honestly solve this problem with some imagined "in & out" lightning strike in a day & night. You were able to swing that with Syria and Iraq, but now no longer. As a rule, military operations that reek of panic and desperation are almost always doomed to failure. Only by working in conjunction with the sheer muscle and ability of the big dog does the military option have any real hope of success. Though it galls the Hell out of you, by blunt necessity, you'll wait for our decision and effort in this matter of Iran and the right approach.

You may think that "Never Again" is emotionalism, but to Jews -- and Israel -- it is a cold, hard fact. It really means a great deal to us. One-third of the Jewish population in the world was massacred, and Israel sees it as its obligation to make sure it never happens again. Forget "in and out lighting strike." We aren't risking Israeli lives or Israeli aircraft or Israeli submarines. If we go after Iran -- and we probably will, because sanctions just aren't cutting the mustard -- we will use everything available in Israel's considerable arsenal. You know what that means. I assure you that "panic" and "desperation" are the emotions being felt in Teheran, not Jerusalem. Israel does not need -- and has never sought -- the approval of the United States to take the steps necessary to counter existential threats. Emotion has nothing to do with it. Survival has everything to do with it. "Never Again" is far more than a slogan to the Jewish people and the State of Israel. You do the math. And -- as I said -- if Iran decides to retaliate against an Israeli strike by targeting United States assets -- well -- that would be the big dog's problem, right?
