I don't understand how The US can complete such a major operation without Israel being dragged in. Surely if this happened the rockets would start flying in to Israel from Iran , Lebanon and Gaza and maybe Syria. What woul be Israels response ? Two things are for certain, time is running out and it probably needs to be done before Egypt becomes stronger.

So, we now have a situation, where Iran cannot be considered weak. If you are professional and go into a problematic situation to fix it, you don't go and fix it a little and hope, that it will stabilize. Next you use a little more of your means..... and again you hope in vain...... Just like the European monetary crisis. No! A professional enters a situation with all means at hand and fixes it with only one goal in mind! Maximize the chances to fix the issue once and for all, while reducing the collateral damages to a minimum. Iran is a problem since it messes around in the ME since years. I am not sure, whether the Iranian leaders are so rational. They have one big goal in mind and they will follow this goal as they always did! If they agree to stop their nuclear activities, they will break the agreement. Just remember what they did with the UK embassy! They don't give a **** for intl conventions and rules.
