1. How many tank divisions do we have on the Southern front?
tom ,   tel aviv   (01.01.12)
2. Standard islamic parctice: taqqiya
Susya Bar Dror ,   IL   (01.01.12)
Any deal, agreement, contract or mutual understanding with Jews is subject to infringement. This is according to the koran.
3. Egypt
Anwar   (01.01.12)
Israel should not wait for these people to decide whether they like a binding peace treaty or not. In case they will not respect it ,the IDF should bring its troops to the canal and not waist time about. My dear muslim brothesr you cant have it both way Sinai and no peace treaty.
4. Sinai must belong to Israel.
Jules   (01.01.12)
How could Menahem Begin have ever trusted such a "peace treaty" ?
5. Defining taqiyya
Zooey ,   Toledo, OHIO, USA   (01.01.12)
Susya Bar Dror's definition of taquiya is incomplete. It leaves out that religious dissimulation is permitted in cases where adherents of Islam may conceal their religion when they are under threat, persecution, or compulsion. Wikipedia offers this: "...taqiyya is lawful in situations where there is overwhelming danger of loss of life or property"
6. itstime for IDF to take back Sinai from these crazy gang.
Hadad ,   U.K   (01.01.12)
7. Then the Wgyptians wouldn't mind to lose Sinai again
(01.01.12)
AND NEVER GET IT BACK!
8. Never trust peace with Muslims. Always be prepared for war!
(01.01.12)
9. #1 it doesn't matter
israel israeli ,   tel aviv   (01.01.12)
The Arabs aren't stupid. Unlike Israelis, the Arabs think one step ahead and change their war theory (torat lehima) according to past experience. Jihad knows they lost tank on tank battles, but had major victories with SabraShatilla, Jeningrad, Durrah, Lebanon II and Goldstone. Future wars will involve massive missile attacks on Israeli civilians and infrastructure from Arab population centers, commando attacks and activation of their NGOs inside Israel to demoralize and delegitimize the IDF.
10. moslem brotherhood wont recognise israel under any sercumsta
DANNY TAWIL ,   ENGLAND   (01.01.12)
WELL POSTED TOM IN TEL-AVIV. OSER YISROAL BEGHBORA, WHO GIRDETH ISRAEL WITH MIGHT.MY LATE FATHER WAS FROM HALEB AND HE USE TO SAY THE ONLY THING THEY UNDERSTAND IS MIQAL HIRK. IRON FIST THEY HIT US YOU HAVE TO HIT THEM BACK 10, 20, TIMES HARDER, THEN THEY UNDERSTAND.
11. I wonder...
Jewish Patriot ,   Galut   (01.01.12)
I wonder if Israel had told the same, now the full world including the UN and everyone would "worry" about the Israeli democracy and hundreds of anti Israeli protests would begin... Where is the UN and the great "liberty" lover West in this case?
12. Brotherhood position
graczek ,   Maryland, USA   (01.01.12)
At long last, Egyptian policy will be coming back to normal and will erase the political crimes of the Sadat-Mubarak clique! No sane Muslim (or Christian, for that matter) considers Zionist sovereignty to have any legitimacy.
13. Sad. They will turn Egypt into a toilet
EgyptianJewishRefuge ,   Ex. Cairo, Egypt   (01.01.12)
Sad. They will turn Egypt into a toilet. Until 1952 Egypt was Shangri la, a Paradise. Nasser ruined Egypt. Now these primitive backward extremists will turn Egypt into a toilet.
14. Agree
Sam ,   Cardiff uk   (01.01.12)
If they don't want to cooperate. Then take Sinai from them. Then hit them with bombs and death. After all it seems all Muslims understand is killing people. I think the world would be better off minus a few Muslims.
15. Israel should Strike Military emediatelly -
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (01.01.12)
'Israel is enemy entity' He stressed that under no circumstances will the Brotherhood recognize the State of Israel. -The Peace deal is anuled, and take the whole of Sinai back !!!. Arn.Sweden.
16. But Obama & Hilary said MB is moderate
Anne ,   USA   (01.01.12)
17. Just look at this Bayuomi guy..
Frank ,   T-A   (01.01.12)
A sack of lard, with the hands itching to send poor Egyptians to die for him. Poor Egypt. Already in turmoil and chaos, now it has idiots who will rule it. Jew-hatred in its essence.
18. WHY IS ANY ONE SURPRISED ????
AMERICAN HINDU ,   USA   (01.01.12)
No surprises here for me. Libya, Tunisia, Syria, (and maybe Jordan )will all fall to the brotherhood. Do not understand why people in the West (Jews amoungst them) are so keen on the "Arab Spring". You do not need to be very smart to forecast what is going to happen.
19. Of course it won't.
Ypip ,   Canada   (01.01.12)
The MB is hostile to Israel due to its ideology. The movement regards all the land of Palestine as a waqf, and rejects the State of Israel's right to exist. It promotes jihad against Israel, and absolutely rejects peace treaties and normalization with Israel. It supports terrorism as performed by Hamas which is its Palestinian branch.
20. 16-They're wrong.
Ypip ,   Canada   (01.01.12)
21. Just quoting..
eran ,   singapore   (01.01.12)
"I guess Israel can take Sinai back now. Starting a war is, of course, the last thing Israel needs. But to bend over backwards to appease these vultures is worse. Now let us all bow heads and say THANK YOU, OBAMA. For destroying the shaky truce in the ME and causing hundreds of thousands of deaths. If America votes back this anti-democratic muslim puppet, I will lose all hope for the once great country."
22. Peace Treaty?
Max ,   Washington DC   (01.01.12)
Why is Carter, the architect of this "Peace Treaty" silent? It appears the Islamists want to give Israel "Causus Belli" to retake the sinai and the oil wells Israel developed.
23. Peace agreements with Arab states
Mark ,   Israel   (01.01.12)
Toilet paper is worth more! The shifting situation in Egypt shows that a peace agreement with an Arab state will never last for long. It will always be trashed in the end by the Arab side, which just wants the benefits of peace without having to pay any price for it!
24. Screw the MB, bunch of Morons.
mel ,   chicago   (01.01.12)
25. Not to worry.
Roy ,   Miami   (01.01.12)
Just switch to Haarets. They will surelly explain you why this is good for us.,--sarcasm
26. I quote 2
eran ,   singapore   (01.01.12)
"Writers for the New York Times like Nick Kristoff were telling us for a couple of weeks how really sweet the Muslim Brotherhood was and they had such good intentions where Israel were concerned. Oh yes, Nick, real sweet like the sweet kiss of death. Nothing has changed except Israel now has to deal with a very long and open border with Egypt. Our only advantange is we use our brains, theirs only for hate! "
27. Well ... actually ... they're wrong
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.01.12)
Israel assumed the peace treaty with Egypt to be binding. If the current "leadership" of Egypt deems it not to be binding, they will be nothing short of amazed at how fast Israel can take back Sinai and, perhaps, a strip on the East Bank of the Suez Canal. We did it before. We can do it again. And the best part is that Israel would take control of the Canal, and not charge the exorbitant fees for vessels transiting the Canal. I assure you that the world would shut up in very short order when Canal transition rates drop. VERY SHORT ORDER. Plus, we get Taba back. Always did miss Taba. We can rebuild the Aviyeh Sonesta in very short order, and restore it to its once beauty.
28. Treaties with Arabs not worth the paper they're written on!
Yaniv ,   Israel   (01.01.12)
We heard this a million times. All deals with Arabs are eventually broken. Just a matter of time.
29. Egypt
Steve a ,   manchester England   (01.01.12)
If the Peace Treaty with Egypt is abrogated ,then there is clearly no point in having any further negotiations with any arab entity. And the Israeli government should make this quite clear.
30. # 17 "Bay-jummy"
Susya Bar Dror ,   IL   (01.01.12)
Please give him more respect. He is longing to be a martyr but has a problem, no cojones.
