In order to get a building permit in Israel, you must provide architectural plans, engineering reports attesting to proximity to existing sewer lines, existing gas lines and existing electricity sources. You must produce proof that you have hired a licensed contractor, and he must provide proof that he has hired licensed subcontractors. I have seen Arab construction that clearly violates all of the foregoing. Don't make yourself silly -- cousin Ahmed and Uncle Mohammed, who once worked as day laborers in the construction trade, do not licensed and knowledgeable contractors make. Stop whining -- adhere to the laws and follow the regulations, or don't build.
