31. UN and Ban
Sarah B. ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.28.12)
How dare he question the all mighty G-d of Israel, all the Fakistinians should be lucky that they are currently breathing. If it were up to me they would all be gased. Ban ki-moon better was his back look what happened to Rachel Corrie
32. Numbers Don't Add up!
Adam ,   NYC   (01.28.12)
Arabs generally have large families and multigenerational homes. At least in Israel, they build homes with flat roofs so they could stick another floor on top for the grandparents or when the kids get married. 622 homes and 1100 displaced, less than 2 people per a home? Nonsense.
33. To: No.14
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.28.12)
Keep drinking the KoolAid, why don't you? Do you believe every claim made by the ersatz "Palestinians?" More fool you. A lot of the land and quite a few homes in East Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria was owned by Jews, who were expelled from their homes by the Jordanians in 1948. They have every right to return to the homes and land they owned. Every ersatz "Palestinian," it seems, can produce a rusty key; deeds seem to be considerably harder to come by. The "proof of ownership" between 1948 and 1967 was nothing more than squatters' rights. You seem to imply that the ersatz "Palestinians" are entitled to build illegally just because they were unable to obtain permits. Did you stop to think that it isn't easy for Jews to obtain building permits, either?

35. Instead of addressing the mass slaughter of people in Syria,
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (01.28.12)
and the Iranian drive to develop nuclear weapons, the UN focuses on the lawful municipal work of Israel in territories that legally are part of "the national home of the Jewish people" as is inscribed in the UN Charter, Article 80. Why a cynical world in which we live; one in which institutions such as the UN demonstrate how little they contribute to peace and stability...
36. End suffering by paying "Palestinians" to leave our land.
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.28.12)
The real suffering is caused by large numbers of "Palestinian" poseurs squatting in our land and stirring up endless terror and troubles. End the suffering by paying them to leave our land forever.
37. Stop the rocktet attacks, that is human suffering. UN sucks.

Your comment would at least have a hint of credibility, if you had known some history, Ed...Before 1967 there were no such people, called "palestinians", just as they are not existing as a nation to this day...Talk about credibility, Ed...You have none, zero, zipo....

Yes you are right, UN forgot human suffering long time ago. That was in 1948 when Palestinians from Haifa, Yafa, and other cities and towns were kicked out of their homes.

Harmen ,   Leiden, Netherlands   (01.28.12)
Sarah, your comment would be acceptable, if the Israeli government were not condoning illegal Israeli construction on the West Bank. Migron is the clearest example. It is built on private Palestinian land, as the Israeli high Court has stated, and therefore it is an illegal settlement. Yet the Israeli government is still trying to find excuses in ending this settlement. Sorry, this is inequality before the law, there is no other interpretation. Unless, of course, one believes that one is in a better position than the Israeli High Court to interpret Israeli laws. But then it would become simply a matter of "winner takes all"; whoever happens to be the strongest party, wins the discussion. Sometimes it really seems as if Israel is going downhill. Hope I am wrong.

..human being show compassion and empathy for innocent people, but the Arabs of Judea and Samaria are not exactly innocent - unless of course you a racist who believes that Arabs or so called "Palestinians"/Fakestinians are holy cows who can never be touched or criticized no matter the severity and monstrosity of their crimes. Showing compassion for others does not mean voluntary national collective suicide - giving up one's life, land and freedom to satisfy the feelings of an arch enemy called Arabs who harbor Jew hatred and racist genocidal feelings directed at us Jews and holding anti-Jewish beliefs in general due to the Koran and Islam and holding Arab imperialist beliefs. The Arab presence in Judea and Samaria only serves as the Trojan Horse of the Arab world to Arabize Israel. Essentially, it is an existential conflict of a small peace loving western democracy and naton state (and one of the oldest living civilizations on earth) called ISRAEL surrounded by 22 Jew hating imperialist racist expansionist artificial Arab states without history or identity, who have "forgotten" that the Middle East is the home of at least a dozen nations of the past and of the present and not only a region that "belongs" "exclusively" to Arabs. And by expelling the Arabs from Judea and Samaria, we Jews will safeguard our national rights among the nations, while urging the Arabs to be satisfied with their 22 national rights in their 22 Arab states across the border. What is Israel's is ours. And what belongs to the Arabs is rightfully theirs. But all of Israel belongs to the Jews - INCLUDING Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, Gaza, Golan. While we can express sympathy for the Arabs, we can never express sympathy for their hatred of Jews, for their hostile intentions and for their presence in our land.

Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (01.28.12)
The "Palestinians" - meaning Arab speaking Moslems without history, without historical rights and without origins in our land, have the same right to claim our land and build on our land as Mexicans have the right to build on US soil. The difference is that much of the USA once belonged to Mexico but Israel has never belonged to any "Palestinian" state or people in recorded human history. And if you claim otherwise, please present a list of "Palestinian" kings, dynasties, currency, cities, or capital and examples from history proving the existence of a "Palestinian'" nation state, city state, republic, kingdom, duchy, principality or empire. Give me the name of the "Palestinian" king/president/prime minister in 1967. "Occupation" only deals with STATES. Was there any "Palestinian" state 1 million years ago, 100.000 years ago, 5000, 1000, 500 or 100 years ago? Was there any "Palestinian" state in 1947, 1948, 1949, 1967? The answer is clearly no. Moral lectures should not be given by an American considering the fact that Americans massacred Native Americans, allowed Black slavery, institutionalized apartheid laws against Blacks well into the 50s and 60s and the CIA has toppled many regimes in Africa and Latin America during the Cold War and not to mention various American war crimes in Vietnam. Get your own house in order first before spewing hatred and criticism against others.
45. #14: Yes, small detail, eh?
Ingrid ,   US   (01.28.12)
The whole truth is rarely found in Sarah B's posts which usually consist of some combination of half-truths, propaganda, and outright lies. It's no surprise she hides on a talkboard that is 90% far-right, hyper-militant Israelis and their Christian-fundie American brethren. She's far too cowardly to go someplace where the majority will challenge her views.
46. Double standards!
Rick ,   Earth   (01.28.12)
The UN condemns home demolition in the Palestinian areas while ignoring home demolitions in Jewish areas. It is true, indeed, that the UN doesn't have compassion for Jewish lives.

zivron   (01.28.12)
The kicking ofpeopleout of their homes arabs and jews is an unnecessay aggravation but their ought be a limit to construction of that no argument . Restricted areas ought contain military functions and deep and efficatious underground nuclear shelters which can double as factories in the heat even experimental agricultural growthwith mnovel air filters . Batteries of ballistic missiles offensive and defensive have a huge place for future deterrance ,On a more optimistic note parklands and green saces and solar energy stations are options .

You wouldn't believe the sheer arrogance of the collection of so-called "diplomats," either. They park where they want (including in front of fire hydrants and in no-parking zones), they act imperiously in restaurants (there was one in Le Bernardin a few weeks ago that insisted on smoking a cigarette following his meal, and could not be arrested because of diplomatic immunity and refused to leave); they sweep into stores and demand immediate service from sales personnel that are busy helping others .... not all diplomats, of course; but the highest concentration of rude and uncouth individuals appear to come from Third World countries. Most New Yorkers want them out of here, too. I would venture a guess that most Americans feel similarly.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.28.12)
You fail to understand. In order to get a building permit in Israel, you must provide architectural plans, engineering reports attesting to proximity to existing sewer lines, existing gas lines and existing electricity sources. You must produce proof that you have hired a licensed contractor, and he must provide proof that he has hired licensed subcontractors. I have seen Arab construction that clearly violates all of the foregoing. Don't make yourself silly -- cousin Ahmed and Uncle Mohammed, who once worked as day laborers in the construction trade, do not licensed and knowledgeable contractors make. Stop whining -- adhere to the laws and follow the regulations, or don't build.

Wrong on every count (gee, there's a real surprise!) 1. I replied to Post No. 14; it is published at Post No. 33. 2. I live in Israel six months of the year. 3. I do not live in a basement. 4. I do not "warmonger." I just want Israel -- MY COUNTRY -- to rid itself of vermin and parasites who are a drain on our resources and a cancer in our midst. Nothing wrong with that. It isn't "warmongering;" it's a little bit fiscal responsibility and a lot of pest control. 5. If you have a problem with that, please feel free to leave the Jewish State at any time. May as well do it while it's still voluntary, because it won't be for long.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.28.12)
There is no such thing as private ersatz "Palestinian" land if the ersatz "Palestinians" who claim ownership cannot produce title. Moreover, all of Judea and Samaria (save East Jerusalem and environs, which have been formally incorporated into the State of Israel) constitute non-sovereign territory acquired by Israel in the course of fighting a defensive war against Jordan. The Arabs resident thereon are all citizens of Jordan, courtesy of Jordan's 1954 Citizenship Law, which extended Jordanian citizenship to all West Bank Arabs and their progeny irrevocably. Israel's presence in Judea and Samaria is fully legal, and Israel has every right to settle, retain and even annex all of non-sovereign Judea and Samaria. Population transfers arising from war is nothing new. Loss of property and territory arising from war is nothing new. You are wrong to hold Israel to a standard different from that which is applied to every other country in the world. Israel has had to endure six wars, all started by the Arabs, and seven decades of unremitting Arab terror, which continues to this day. In no instance in history has the principle of "winner take all" EVER been more justified than in the case of the State of Israel.

Want to lay off the rant -- your stupidity is showing. I invite you disprove anything I said about Arab building methods and the requirements under Israeli law to secure building permits. You may also wish to lay off the broad, sweeping statements. It makes you come across as pompous, and there is nothing worse than a pompous fool.
56. NO to UN
Brod ,   USA   (01.28.12)
The UN has noi business intruding in Israel's internal affairs. It also has no business ganging up with the Arab Islamist-Jihadist usurpers and terrorists against Israel. The Land of Israel belongs to Israel since ancient time. It is GOD-GIVEN and GOD-RESTORED to Israel. Period.
57. Not true

59. Stop misuing taxes to support worse than worthless U.N.
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.28.12)
Before the U.N., we had the League of Nations. The League became so discredited due to it's corruption and malevolence, that it came to an end. The U.N. is even worse than the League of Nations. The West should pull the plug on the U.N. Stop misusing tax dollars to support the worse than worthless U.N.

Israel IS minding its own business. It is you who are not. You also state you are for peace for everyone. You are not, as your “peace” does not include Israel. Another ‘fact’ you have wrong; Jacob is the name from the Jewish bible.
