to compare Auschwitz to Syria????? Go and learn what was Auschwitz and then apologise to all of us

This is one of the worst articles I've seen. Comparin Syria with the Holocaust is completely stupid and non-sense. If we go by this "logic" how many holocaust have the world seen since the end of WWII..... 15-20?

How can a 'teacher' be so superficial and simple-minded? Say what you want about Syria on it's own terms. The Auschwitz comparison is foul.

The author would have "West" do as it did in Libya - strike Syria. But consider the results in Libya. Yes, Qaddafi was evil but he was constrained. He'd surrendered his nuclear project (something Syria has yet to do), but not yet his chemical weapons or ManPADs. So NATO - with support only from Qatar though the Arab League was pushing intervention - drove him out. And who has taken his place? Islamists. Now look at Syria. Yes, the regime has much (if not most) of the populace against it. But who is waiting to take its place? Islamists. Only this time they'll take over Syria's chemical weapons, missiles, and nuclear project.

...stay in Afghanistan, go back to Iraq, fix Yemen, go after Iran, clean up Lybia and now go after Syria? I am all for Israel going after her enemies who want to destroy her, but we can't keep sending US troops all over the world. As much as I want the US to stand by Israel, we can't do it all at once.

This must be one of the worst articles I've ever read on Y-net. If you really had to compare the Holocaust to any other atrocity, why not chose the 1994 genocide in Rwanda where the Hutus slaughtered almost a MILLION Tutsis in 100 days, nazi-style. This low-level civil war in Syria doesn't even come close.

I'm appalled by all these commentators whining about the article's comparison with Auschwitz. Auschwitz is not some holy place that we're forbidden to mention. The author wasn't saying that the killing was occurring on the same scale - he was making the perfectly reasonable point that the world did nothing to stop the massacre of Jews, and is doing nothing to stop the massacre of Syrians by their own regime. We're all human beings first - some of you would do well to remember that.

The US won't lift a finger. they've got too much riding on a secret deal with OPEC, in which they'll get cheap crude oil for kissing off Israel altogether. The US is in crisis and cheap oil would certainly make things easier for them...not to say that The Lord won't throw a wrench in their plans. Big difference , in what happened in Auschwitz , then whats going on in Syria. The people that was lead or taken to Auschwitz had no warning what was in store for them and was given no way to defend themselves. Lets see, last week it was Mr Adler suggesting Israel should assasinate Obamma and direct the replacement President to invade Iran . Now Merav calls for an invasion of Syria and tries to use ''Holocaust guilt'' to back up his demand, all the while pretending that his motives are humanitarian rather than selfish.
