We got it from you. Both the US and UK have it and have been using it for decades, but it is only terrible if we do the same as you. Who cares if the asshole dies?
34. split #27 how about my list?
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (02.10.12)
The United States of America and the United Kingdom. They too have the same sort of laws and people in prison without any sort of trial.

agree with you hundred percent, but please remenber that israel took this law from british occupation of palestine and continued to use against arab only
37. #7 - no, it's not. Terrorism is clearly defined.
William ,   Israel   (02.10.12)
A person who targets civilians by choice IS a terrorist. The "Palestinians" may call him a Freedom Fighter to soothe their genocidal tendencies, but a terrorist is still a terrorist regardless of whether they wear fatigues or a suit and tie. No where is it written or accepted that killing a mother and her children at point blank range is an act of self-defense, as many "Palestinian" terrorists claim to justify their war crimes.
38. #8 - actually, detention in jails of torture...
William ,   Israel   (02.10.12)
or detention in places unknown is more common in dictatorships. Dictators rarely provide ICRC access to prisoners, adhere to Intl laws on prisoner welfare, nor access to legal aid. Infact, by your logic, pretty much the entire world is a dictatorship, no?
39. #27 - The secular Republic of Turkey is a representative

42. Think of Gilad
Eran ,   Singapore   (02.10.12)
AP is full of bs and well known for biased reporting. One wanders where were they for the five years Gilad was imprisoned under most brutal conditions. Regarding this terrorist:-) Just hold him at least five years before judgement as payback for Gilad.
43. #17 - or you'll...start an intifada? or declare war?
William ,   Israel   (02.10.12)

pinchas ,   boston   (02.10.12)
was right, and her view should be the prevailing view: the food is there, and if this idiot/martyr/jihadi nutcase terrorist wants to starve, let him! But for God's sake, Israel-- don't cave in. Remember!: those who are mericful to the cruel will end up being cruel to the merciful.
48. All I'd feed him would be pork-chops!
tom ,   tel aviv   (02.10.12)
49. let him drop dead
Larry ,   Los Angeles   (02.10.12)
Israel should execute terrorists, not pamper them. Who needs another exchange of one thousand terrorist bums for one Jewish soldier. Put them all against the wall and shoot!
50. Hunger strike
Pasquinel ,   London.Ca   (02.10.12)
And we care why?

Robert ,   Australia   (02.10.12)
......going on a hunger strike.
52. Just imagine the fallout ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.10.12)
.... were Israel to order insertion of a feeding tube. Can't have it both ways, folks. Either let him starve to death or allow Israel to order a medical procedure which will save this miscreant's life, but which will violate his free will. So, which is it? Let him starve himself to death, or allow Israel to save him against his will?
53. To: No. 51
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.10.12)
What a remarkably "substantive" comment! You would benefit by giving up booze and finding a job. I'm fairly certain that the good taxpaying citizens of Australia are pretty sick of you.
54. To: No. 17
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.10.12)
Yeah? Really? What kind of a "response?" The last time your nasty little country attacked Israel, it did not go very well for you, so I suppose that's off the table. Jordanian-inspired terror attacks haven't really worked all that well, either. Jordan is not in the habit of freeing criminals, and neither is Israel. So, slave, what "response" is Israel going to face? A lot of tongue-wagging? Go for it. No one takes Jordan seriously, anyway. But I could use a good chuckle.

In wars you don't always have the luxury of playing by the rules and being humane and although there might not be any enemy tanks pointing their guns in our direction its still a war just different type of war. England is fortunate in that nobody has launched an offensive war against it since WW2 so can afford to be humane. I do know that my grandfather came to England from Austria during WW2 and they didn't welcome him with open arms he was detained at least for a little while because they didn't know if he was a spy or an enemy agent come to kill people. He was just a refugee but he was held in detention. This guy is not being held in detention because he was a refugee like humane England did to my grandfather he is detained because he is a terrorist. If he dies then he has saved the Israeli taxpayer alot of money and there will be one less terrorist in the world. Speaking as somebody who was born in England but moved to Israel and having seen both sides my conclusion if you can't use British values worldwide because problems are different in other parts of the world & require different ways of dealing with them.
56. #51 Robert, as per usual

Bad Ased Jew ,   United States   (02.10.12)
Let him starve himself to death and do the world a service.
58. Such bullshit
Bad Ased Jew ,   United States   (02.10.12)
this lunatic wants power.. He's better off dead, and so are we. If he wants to end his life, it's his call. Another strange tale from a strange 'invented' people. Death to them is glorified and opposite of all that's holy. So much muslim death, perhaps we too should celebrate his decision? After all, who cares about one more terrorist?
59. No death penalty in Israel such a pity.
Bad Ased Jew ,   United States   (02.10.12)
this maniac prefers to die with press notices... Screw the bastard. He should have been killed long ago,
60. Zionist forever
Bad Ased Jew ,   United States   (02.10.12)
well said. However, Britain isn't responsible for this lunatic, unfortunately, Israel is. ( to a point) As the starving lunatic proves, his wish is his command. Death is the highest achievement of any muslim, be it his own or that of others. Has anyone done a recent count of the muslim dead due to the 'arab springing blood'? Death must be a relief for the poor dumb bastards.
