61. Michael Alex, come, come.........................
avrohom bilgrei ,   Zion   (02.22.12)
When "they" came to put you in a choke hold (aka "stranglehold") ; the religious that is, did you call the police? Did they take you away, and force you to watch television? Why don't you convert so as to be establishment friendly, and then on Shabat/Holidays you can watch tv, smoke cigarettes as you please! You know if you learned some Torah, you might be able to cite some religious basis for your self hatred, rather than some spurious, hyperbolic sophistry!
62. Perhaps "conservative" Jews could take
Ierglib Dwarde ,   Israel   (02.22.12)
control of their history, if they REALLY knew it! Curious; history is the past, how can you "take control" of something that is past, unless your talking cognitive manipulation?
63. Stop Changing Judaism
Mickey Schamach ,   Highland Park NJ, US   (02.22.12)
Judaism has laws, just as any other religion. Yet we seem to be the only faith that tries to change our beliefs to suit our personal preferences. The Conservative movement is a joke...it is a step towards assimilation. Frum kids stay frum, Conservative kids inter-marry. Most Conservative/Reform Jews I served with in the US Army had no real knowledge of their faith, and most of them came from Jewish fathers and Christian mothers. Conservative/Reform Judaism in the US is all fluff and no substance; we continue the traditions (unless they are inconvenient) but have all but abandoned or entirely watered down the faith. The Haredi aren't extremists, they just follow the laws of our faith. Israel is a Jewish land, for Jews. If you don't like Judaism, don't move there. In countries where the Conservative/Reform movements are the largest branches of Judaism (US, UK, Canada) there really isn't any persecution. So there is no real reason for these people to move to the Holy Land. I doubt there is such a push from the more secular movements in Islam to try to modernize the religious tone of the Saudi Government.
64. Conservative Movement
Mark Kaufman ,   Roslyn Harbor   (02.27.12)
I question whether there is such a movement. I so called "conservative jews" don't follow judaism even as conservatives define it what "movement" is there?
65. Loshen hara
The most dati hiloni ,   Budapest, Hungary   (03.04.12)
How nice it is to see charedi do lashon hara... what's your problem with a woman being a rabbi? Even the rca admits that there is nothing against female rabbis in the halacha except sacred continuity. If the orthodox rabbis state this than who you are to call a rav treif?
