1. Why would it help them? They're blind
David ,   Israel   (02.22.12)
Seeing as they label terrorists wielding weapons on a ship as peace activists! Good to see the great backstabbing former ally getting the nice favor returned.
2. Turkey's government
Mark Bernadiner ,   Pearland, USA   (02.22.12)
Turkey’s government is a gang of international criminals and may use advanced military technology against civilians, Kurds, Greeks and Cypriots, as Turkey has a fat criminal file of killing these people.
3. Croc tears from Turkey...
AlbertoGA ,   St. George, USA   (02.22.12)
Sad bunch, if they want things from Israel they have to decide if they want friendship with us or embrace the Mullahs gang in Iran.
4. Islamic terror
Beary White ,   Norway   (02.22.12)
Do not sell military stuff to Turkey. The country is moving into islamic fundamentalisme and will eventually be very very hostile to Israel. And mr erdogan hates Israel, so why?
5. Turkey
Jon ,   Madrid, Spain   (02.22.12)
Turkey wants its money back as Israel breached the contract. Turkey does not want your 'systems' they are part fo Nato and could get better 'systems' from europe or aAmerica, they wnat their money back which the ISraeli companies have eaten (but not delivered the 'systems'). Its like Israel aying millions or billins of dollars to america but america refusing to deliver the products or return the money, Now e know that Israel has a obsession with retaining money, but if you are not going to deliver the goods then under international law you ahev to give the money back
6. ¿
Tommy ,   America   (02.22.12)
what weapons, liars?
7. I'm sure there are Intl Conventions which support Israel
William ,   Israel   (02.22.12)
and any other nation from having to honor agreements which would have one nation providing sensitive equipment to another hostile nation, which could affect national security and sovereignty. In 2008, Turkey was still a friend, more or less. Today, they are belligerent hostiles and actively support a terrorist group against Israel. Not to mention they also turned off codes in existing military equipment that would see IAF planes as friendly. I suppose if the argument really gets heated, one could argue that Turkey cannot have the equipment on moral grounds for the massive attacks on Kurds they have done, and would do more of with this new equipment.
8. #5 - not true, Jon
William ,   Israel   (02.22.12)
Israel only took a small advance on the product, not full payment. The deal was just recently cancelled and no money was returned as both sides were waiting to see how it would pan out. A negotiation might have re-opened the contract which would negate the need for a refund. Israel is not keeping the money just to have the money, and will deliver it back to Turkey. But read the rest of the article.... Turkey says even when they get the money back, they want to sue for breach of contract and other issues. By the way - can you cite the Intl Law which says "if you don't deliver the goods...you have to give the money back"? I'm curious where it covers this incident. And of course, under that same law, I'd like to know when France and Norway will reimburse Israel for military purchases of equipment in the 1950s which they reneged on (even taking double payment for), and kept the money. Finally - who says US or EU will provide Turkey advanced military equipment? Being a member of NATO doesn't obligate them to do so. Don't you have a wasteful socialist protest to attend, Jon?
9. erdogan and dovetogolu
alexi   (02.22.12)
erdgoan and dovetogolu zero policy is worth zero. greece, cyprus, france all hate turkey's leaders with their nonsense logic, non stop lying, support of iran and terror. Turkel commission report inidicated that the gaza blockade was totally legal. Israel can countersue if turkey raises any claims. turkey chafes at israel while its moslemm buddies in syria mow down 9000 civlilians and while iran suppresses its nada. turkey is full of it. turkish generals do not have to sit and take it and should organise to take legal action and remove erdogan and put him in jail permanently along with gul. They are a pack of liars. and israel was going to put its security in turkey's hands on the golan as olmert was trying to buy a ticket out of jai. Ashkenazi, baidetz and olmert were totally 100% wrong about the golan which is and always was israeli.
10. negligent mass homicide
Jon ,   Baltimore   (02.22.12)
Turkey should be sued for their role in the Struma mass homicide of 1941.
11. 3
Anton ,   Ist   (02.22.12)
Good on israels part :) turkey have to focus domestic production this will help ongoing military investment :) number 3 the answer is neither:) cant be friends with iran or israel
12. #5 Jon, huh?
David ,   Boston, USA   (02.22.12)
If the contract is made void and money has passed hands it will be resolved, I am sure, but to involve international court of justice seems to be more than necessary. its a business involving product and politics and should be settled between the two countries and the company, not involving the ICJ. What are you talking about Israel keeping the money? Dont make stuff up. This article doesnt have all the details. Id like to see the details, and not make stuff up.
13. SPECIAL TONGUE-KISS ON TURKISH MOUSTACHE.

Quote: "Finally - who says US or EU will provide Turkey advanced military equipment? Being a member of NATO doesn't obligate them to do so." Of course not, but we sell our weapons world wide including Israel, Saudi Arabia and Lybia. It would be strange if we wouldn't sell to Turkey which is a close allied and NATO member. No offense, but if we would just sell to countries your country has not a problem with we could shut down our weapons and arms industry. And regarding the contract: If you don't want a contract, then don't sign it. If you signed it you have to deliver or pay. This is the usual way.

And the US for the massacre of the Indians.
17. Turkish insanity!
ClaudedeParis ,   Paris, France   (02.22.12)
Put Turkey out of NATO. And set Chyprus free.
18. Gobble, Gobble
Noah Lev ,   LosAngelesUSA   (02.22.12)
Turkey wont allow info to flow to Israel from NATO anti-missile bases on its territory. i guess it forgot that. My guess, Israel has a clause which allows this refusal to supply tech, under some circumstances, like the relationship between countries has been compromised, OR, it might be furnished to terrorist groups (Hez/Hamas, etc.). Turkey threatened Israeli waships involved with the flotillas, and guarding the natural gas off of Cyprus (both acts of war). They enned all cooperation (military) with Israel, after partying up to the Islamists. Cant have it both ways guys. And assuming Israel loses..who will ENFORCE the decision, the UN? Come on. Turkey is pulling out all stops..as it sees Greece/Israel/Cyprus in a viable relationship (military and mining). To my friends: dont buy anything made in Turkey, like their rugs, cigars, other luxury items. Let them gobble, gobble.
19. Turkey is killing kurds
Anon ,   Johannesburg   (02.22.12)
Israel must not support the murder of Kurds. Israel must go to court and explain that the use of Israel tech against the Kurds is wrong. ErDOGan has blood on his hands
20. #15 - Turkey cut all financal deals with Israel first
Eric ,   Tel Aviv & NY   (02.22.12)
Johann, you seem to forget that the deal was before Turkey canceled all deals with Israel and then selectively wants to resume some of them. I have yet to see any international law that obliges a country to provide military equipment to a country that has effectively declared war on it as Turkey has done. Also, what does the Court of Justice have to do with commercial contracts? It is for war criminals.
21. Johan
Adam H ,   NY, USA   (02.22.12)
Yes, you are right Johan, we did massacre the Indians and stole their land. So, how do you say genocide in German?
22. #5, #8, #12, #15
solomon ,   bklyn   (02.22.12)
You have a point in saying that Israel should return the money. On the other hand, they could possibly keep it as reparations for the costs of the Turkish supported IHH attack on the IDF when attempting to break the blockade. Or to repay legal costs for the report submitted to the UN commission after which the UN found Turkey at fault.

Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (02.23.12)
The American Indians were killing each other before we got here. Their idea of entertainment was to capture each other and tie the men to stakes and burn and kill them as slowly as possible. They kept the women and little girls alive but not because they were nice people. The Indians got displaced because of this and because they had no ambition beyond hunting and fishing while their women did all the actual work. My fathers father was half Indian so I am not saying this because I am a white man. I'm saying it because that's the way it was.
24. Johann...

...has a Turkish lover. Otherwise he would not make those stupid comments!
25. HOW'S ERDOGAN'S CANCER? LETS PRAY
ZIMBI ,   NJUSA   (02.23.12)
26. Turks cannot have it both ways
Anadelfos ,   Athens Greece   (02.23.12)
Once again we face double standards in Turkey's foreign policy. On the one hand they ask for apologise from Israel,( due to which they cancelled almost all military ties), while on the other they protest for the cancelled deal.It is totally shisofrenic. Why don't they use the same sensitivity about S.S. Struma, or the Varlik vergisi ?
27. Arm the Kurdish resistance instead! Free Kurdistan!
Yaniv ,   Israel   (02.23.12)
28. #21
Johann ,   Germany   (02.23.12)
Just to make it clear: I don't have a problem with your country. Fact is I'm a great admirer of the USA and this is not a joke. You freed us from Nazi dicatorship and helped us after WW II and during the Cold War. We are close allies and our both countries fight together in Afghanistan. You love our cars, we love your movies and your operating systems. I was just upset because you will hardly find anyone who was repsonsible for the massacre and is still alive. I'm not a big fan of Erdogan, but to make todays Turks responsible for this massacre is like if Germany would sue Sweden for the 30 Years War... or if someone would call the USA of 2012 responsible for the Indian Wars. I think you got my point.
29. Islamists boarded Turkey, on course to sink her.
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (02.23.12)
30. This is called intelligent payback.
PaulZion ,   Israel   (02.23.12)
Turkey over tha last year and a half has snubbed Israel publicly at international conferences and meetings, announced to the world that it will ancel deals with Israeli government companies and private companies and tried to insult Israel and hurt her in as many ways as she could find. I don't recall any calls for Turkey to return monies to Israel companies for breached contracys on her part. Israel, on the other hand remained silent and tried not to exacerbate the situation, while biding her time. At long last, Israel made one simple announcement, one efficient move in response, and hit the right spot, that hurts Turkey the most. Turkey's hysterical reaction is proof of this. Payback. Of the best kind.
