1- Dr. Mazar's name is Eilat, not Ayelet. They're spelled the same in Hebrew, but I dug with her in the 1970s. She's Eilat. 2- It's not just Moshe Dayan who gave the Mount to the Waqf. The Mizrachi members of the cabinet (Zerach Warhaftig, and I think Josef Burg) concurred. Why, I don't know. I think it was ghetto Jews' fear.

the existence or not of the temple bears no relevance to state of israel. Israel does not require the temple for proof that jews have a claim to palestine. In fact, to destroy the religious overtones even fits some people's agendas.

This great proclamation b the late Mordecai (Mota) Gur in June 1967 was true but only for a very short time. It didn't take very long for the rabbis to climb in on the band wagon and forbid Jews from going on to the Temple Mount and so slowly but surely the Waqf took control. So the Temple Mount is in the hands of those who are trying to destroy Israel and the Jewish people aided and abetted by organizations led by the BDS! The Waqf will do everything it can to remove every trace of a Jewish presence on the Mount in the Islamic War against the Jewish people. The blame for this is fair and square on the Governments' of Israel since the Six Day War for kowtowing to the religious parties and preventing Jews from visiting and praying on the Temple Mount. It would be like the Churches telling Christians they cannot visit the Church of the Nativity! The Muslims have taken full advantage of this stupidity and so we have lost the Temple Mount to Radical Islam!

The Waqf understood this fact very well. On one hand Israel lets them destroy Jewish history, on the other Israel lets "Palestinian Muslims riot when Jews climb the Temple mount & instead of stopping Arabs, Israel stops Jews! Whenever Israel builds the smallest thing in the vicinity of the Temple mount, the Arab protest machine starts working overtime and Israel gives in/up! Then there is the daily dose of incitement from Arab Palestinians & their leaders about the "Judaizing of Jerusalem, which (if repeated enough times) will become the new 'fact, because there won't be any proof left to contradict the lie. Now that UNESCO welcomed the Arab Palestinians as a people, a state & a religious history in Israel/Jerusalem, Israel can't even proof them wrong, for they have given it all away! SHAME on them.

For 1,400 years, when Muslims won wars, they declared victory over their enemies by destroying the holy places of other religions and building mosques in their place or they converted the holy places of others into mosques. Besides declaring victory, it was also to show that Islam was superior to all other religions. Stop the massive insult to G-D! Re-take control of the Temple Mount. Rebuild the Third Temple now!

this has been going on for decades and the Jewish government has not done a thing about it. The Waqf has even constructed another mosque under the Mount and then whined that the Jews have made place unstable with the enterance from the Kotel! I am sick of the Israeli's allowing this desecration!

Such archeological destruction should immediately disqualify any further Waqf construction work! The Temple Mount must be protected from such vandalism and destruction! Criminal charges should be brought against those responsible!

See, I don't believe in coincidences. Not of the 2500 yrs we have prayed and talked about going back to Zion, to Jerusalem. And the Creation of the State of Israel. And this is coming from a secular, Kibbutz raised, pig eating, tattooed, motorcycle riding, proud Jew. These are truly miracles. Then, what did we do, give the Waqf, the KEYS to OUR Temple Mount!! What about protecting Jewish artifacts? Are they denying that the Jewish Temples stood on this site?

I was on the Temple Mount once, I believe it was back in 1983. It is time for Israel to take back the Temple Mount and have it open to all. The WAQF should never have been left in charge. It is a joint site and should be treated as such.
