31. Apartheid?
Dave ,   Melbourne Australia   (02.27.12)
Lydia, there are countries in the world that are the epitome of apartheid. Malaysia's system represents apartheid in it's purest form. They have laws for different groups of people. Egypt openly discriminates against Copts. China openly mistreats Tibetans. The list goes on and on. Israel like Australia has one set of laws for all citizens. Israeli Arabs enjoy a better life than Arabs in all Moslem countries most of whom are apartheid. It is really difficult to call you an Australian when our own aborigines in outback Australia live in squalor like so few countries. You really need a reality check.

34. So importan, Arabs turn their backsides to Jerusalem to pray
PETER SM ,   AUSTRALIA   (02.27.12)
35. In the areas of Jerusalem ethnic cleansed of Jews in 1948
PETER SM ,   AUSTRALIA   (02.27.12)
Only ONE (1) Arab leader bothered to visit, the King of Morroco. However the Islamofascists kept the Jews away from their Holy sites, despite undertaking not to do so. Unlike the Arabs, the RETURNING Israelis immediately allowed them to run Al Aqsa, the trashing of Jewish artefacts is the reward.
36. Fictional lands don't have presidents.
Chaim ,   Israel   (02.27.12)
Ynet, stop the nonsense about calling terrorists "Palestinian president" or similar titles. Fictional lands, like Palestine, Oz, Atlantis and Neverland, don't have presidents.
37. no democracy woul;d accept these arab mks. arrest and charge
ralph   (02.27.12)
then cancel all benefits, pensions, health care and exile them and their families for ever. they lost the right to live in a democratic country. democracy does not mean letting ones enemies prosper within itself.
38. #12...Lydia
Malone ,   Hfx   (02.27.12)
Then how do you explain the fact that there are arabs in the Knesset? Is that apartheid too?
39. Hasn't Tibi crossed the line?
Shalom Freedman ,   Jerusalem Israel   (02.27.12)
On the one hand Ahmed Tibi sits in the Israeli parliament and on the other he presents himself as representative of 'Palestine'. Isn't this going beyond the line of acceptable behavior in the direction of the treasonous? Isn't the double game he has long played something no other Democracy in the world would tolerate?
40. #12 thru #16, #21 lydia - LOL !!! tata!
solomon ,   bklyn   (02.27.12)
#12- Arabs go to the same hospitals as Jews, arabs vote and are represented in the Knesset, an arab sits on the Supreme Court. Israeli arabs do not go through checkpoints. They are for non Israeli arabs, many of whom wish to kill Israelis. #13- Jerusalem is within Israel. Jews established the ‘old city’ and its environs. After they were thrown out in 1948, Jordan had arabs settle there to keep the Jews out. Jews have been there for thousands of years; the arabs came from arabia (get it?) during the Moslem conquest in the late 600’s AD. #14- And your point is? The UN can say what they want; it isn’t true. Just like you can say what you want, except none of it is true. The difference is that once in a rare while, the UN is correct. You never are. #15- See #14 above. Israel was attacked and successfully defended itself. Get used to it. #16- Israel did not declare its borders along the Partition Plan. They accepted the Plan. The arabs did not. The arabs attacked. The Jews won (see #15 above). The Partition Plan was pronounced dead by the arabs. You have no say in the matter. #21- And your point is? The arabs are the land thieves (see #13 above). The area was named Palestine by the Romans (after the Philistines who were from Greece) to try and eradicate the Jewish connection to the area. They didn’t have to eradicate the arab connection as there wasn’t any connection and there weren’t any arabs. Summary: Your posts contain no truth whatsoever; you are in your own fantasy land. Facts have no meaning for you. Is ‘lydia’ another name for ‘edithann’? tata

genes, the other from an entity that thrives (not so well lately) on a land grabbed from the "Native" population- the Indians. Thank you for your advice, as always you can be counted on representing the ugly/bigoted/uninformed and plainly antisemitic side of the "Argument"! We, the Jews are presently engaged in a war with Arabs, a war for the right of existing as a People. That is something the so-called "World" has hard time to adjust to, since we were very handy to have around as a punching bag for the Graczeks of this planet. Not so any more, thank you! I need no blessings from neither God or France, to fight for this tiny piece of Land and I and I alone shall determine to whom it shall belong. You my dear, ugly couple, shall have to find another cause for Evil in this world than the Jewish People. I could give you a hint, but that would be pontless and cruel of me: one should not shatter illusions:they prop up the World and make Graczek's-existence worthwhile !!
43. to solomon at no 40

44. Lydia'a comments
Yatnavalkyan ,   India   (02.27.12)
United Nations is a pathetic organisation that treats kingdoms and totalitarian states on a par with democracies.
45. We're getting just what we deserve
Vered, Israel   (02.27.12)
Israel is the one letting the Arabs bulldoze our heritage on the Temple Mount. We want everyone to understand that J'lem has always been our city, yet stand idly by while the Arabs erase all evidence. Shame on us!
46. #12 Lydia get a grip
SNS   (02.27.12)
1) In Israel all citizens have equal representation. How do you think Ahmd Tibi became a MEMBER OF PARLIMENT! 2) Israeli laws protect all citizens and even those who are not citizens 3) What rights are Arab citizens denied? None 4) All citizens have freedom of movement. You are talking about non-citizen Palestinians. They are subjected to checkpoints because some of the want to kill Israelis and destroy Israel.
47. To Graczek & Lydia
Markos ,   Czech Republic   (02.27.12)
Graczek, you clearly agreed with Lydia to with the notion that the bible is not legal and yet you call yourself a Christian? You align with a fictional entity called Palestine diametrically opposed to the Covenant God cut with Abraham, Isaac & Jacob and yet you call yourself a Christian? Phonies like yourself have been a stumblickblock to many and it would be your wisdom not to declare yourself a fool. As of Lydia, you are blind to the truth, and I sincerely hope that one day you and the millions of anti-semites of your caliber to repent, turn to the God of Israel and ask forgiveness of the Jewish people that you have despised, legitimized and rejected.
48. All tourists welcome .No religion required !

49. to #6 not true, the chritians in arab countries
ghostq   (02.27.12)
numbers reduce by a monthly basis due to massacres, the Israeli govs allowed Muslims or Chritians to pray in jerusalem but no arab leadership is allowing minorities to do the same in arab countries, somehow you missed reality, the last time I have checked, arab muslim murder Greek Patriach in Yoffa.
50. to #16 Jerusalm is made out of marshmallow

according to you, it was created during Wolvgang Pak golden era.
51. U.N condemned Israel for arresting Eichmann
Dan Kelso   (02.27.12)
Lets see what the U.N has done. In 1960, the U.N and all the Arab countries condemned Israel for arresting one of the biggest mass murderers in history in Eichmann. The U.N actually demanded Israel send Eichmann back to Argentina. U.N condemned Israel for the 76 Entebee raid against Palestinian terrorists. The U.N condemned Israel for bombing Iraq's nuclear facility in 81. The U.N condemned Israel for killing mass murderers Yassin and Rantisi. Basically the U.N condemn's Israel defending itself and keep its historic Jerusalem capitol, which was never in history the capitol of any Arab country.
52. #30 graczek

As a Christian, please explain Romans Chapter 11 in the New Testement.
53. To # 16 in the partition plan Jerusalem and Bethlehem ...
Aaron ,   Jereusalem   (02.27.12)
Had special status.According to Res 181 of 1947 by the UN. But when the arabs declared the war against Israel 1948 they ignore that staus and inaded East Jerusalem and Bethlehem. And Nobody complain England and Paksitan recognized the ilegall anexation by Jordan who destroyed 45 Synagogues in the Jewish Quarter and killed 4000 Jews who Nobody seems to remember, and then declared East Jerusalem a city CLEAN OF JEWS. Similiar as those terms used by the Germans in the Third Reich " Judenrein" It seems you only read things about the UN resolutions out of context Read all the resolution. Israel dis in 1967 what Jordan did in 1948. With a difference, on both occasions war was declared upon Israel.
54. Robert Serry, should be immediately declared Persona Non Gra
Roger ,   USA   (02.27.12)
Robert Serry, the UN special coordinator for the Middle East should be immediately declared Persona Non Grata by Israel for his blatant bias. No one needs him. Kick him out.

56. #42 tom- good post.
solomon ,   bklyn   (02.27.12)
57. Transfer UN HQ to Jerusalem!
Zeev, Haifa ,   Haifa   (02.27.12)
Here is an idea: Jerusalem should remain a united city, open to all,- but become the capital of both the State of Israel and the State of Palestine. That is, Jerusalem should be transformed into an International enclave as envisaged in the 1947 UN GA Resolution 181: “The City of Jerusalem shall be established as a corpus separatum under a special international regime and shall be administered by the United Nations.” In addition, the idea should be launched to transfer UN HQ from New York to Jerusalem. This may appear to be a pretentious idea. But bearing in mind that Jerusalem is the center of three world religions, and that such a step might put a final end to this long and festering conflict, such a proposal may eventually become to appear 'realistic'. It would make Jerusalem the World Center of the United Nations, and might have interesting implications for the status of the city, as well as for its economy and its security.
58. #57 zeev
solomon ,   bklyn   (02.28.12)
Name one city that was declared an international city...and stayed that way. (Look up Gdansk.) And why should Jews give up anything to those who only destroy history and fill it with fables?
59. #58 Solomon: The Vatican!
Zeev ,   Haifa   (02.28.12)
Vatican City was established in1929. A good reason for giving up exclusive sovereignty over Jerusalem? I think it would be a cheap price to pay,- in exchange for a full-scale peace settlement with the surrounding Arab/Muslim world, as offered in the Arab League Peace Initiative. For a person living in Brooklyn this may appear difficult to understand, but as the grandfather of three army-aged grandchildren,- the possibility of finally being able to live a normal life in this beautiful Land,- appears attractive. And even important.
60. To: No. 12
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (02.28.12)
What are you babbling about? Israeli Arabs enjoy all the rights and privileges of citizenship, although not all of the obligations (such as military service). The Arabs residing in the West Bank are, for one thing, citizens of Jordan. They are not entitled to the rights and privileges of Israeli citizenship. That is not apartheid; that is international convention and practice. Besides, have you noticed the sharp decline in ersatz "Palestinian" terror attacks since the wall was built and checkpoints established? Hmm? Taking precautions against a violent terrorist rabble is hardly "apartheid." It's common sense.
