31. All of Israel is ours. Don't fall for the "safe haven" trap
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.22.12)
Many of Israel's enemies and false friends, including Obama, claim Israel's existence is justified mostly or solely by the Holocaust. Many "Palestinians" also claim they are losing "their land" due to European cruelty to Jews. We must not fall for the safe haven trap. Had the Holocaust never occurred, ALL of Israel would still be ours. Israel is the safest haven for Jews. But above all, IT IS OURS. All of it.
32. I Hate To Bring This Up, But...
Julia ,   Los Angeles   (03.22.12)
Did anyone ever stop to think that if all the Jews were in Israel, the entire world would do all it could to wipe Israel off the map and all the Jews along with it? You KNOW they would. So, this doesnt seem like such a great idea, to get all the Jews together in one place, sitting ducks for annihilation! THINK, people.
33. eh?to 13
avi kraft ,   israel   (03.22.12)
my wife is from Ontario and she used to say eh instead of hey, cupboard instead of closet and underground instead of subway, She adjusted to the American pronounciation before we made aliyah from New York. She still makes fun of the way I say ider instead of idea and her pet poke is the way she saw Americans coming up to Toronto with skies furcoats and hats in the middle of summer
34. what the chofetz chaim and lubavich really beleive
avi kraft ,   israel   (03.22.12)
the chofetz chaim was a fierce opponent of (herzelian zionim)and was even more against mizrachi then against the seculars. However he loved rav kook and admired him greatly because he knew the only correct zionism is ki mitziyone tatzay torah the fifth lubavicher rebbe the rebbe rashab (fifth llubavicher rebbe was more anti zionist then the satmar was the last rebbe tzl did not approve of singing hatikvah or of celebrating yom haatzmut but he felt that tyhe best way top carry out the ideals of the rebbe rashab was to win all Jews back to torah. He also was against giving up an inch of land in Jewish hands because he felt that to do so would violate halacha and cause much death and suffering and of course he wass proven right. The rebbe felt that now that Jews were living in Israel it no longer mattered that herzel started the ball rolling because this is the reality and this is the way Hashem ordained it. Never the less if we are really following the holy rebbes path we need to know what the rebbe held from and what he didnt hold from
35. LUBAVITCH REBBE
MR CYNIC ,   SAFED OPERA HOUSE   (03.22.12)
He said Israel was the safest place .But he never lived here .
36. #29, You don't know what quality of life is.
Rich ,   Toronto, Canada   (03.22.12)
On the Mercer's Quality of Living scale Canada has three cities in the top 20 in the world - Vancouver 6th place, Ottawa 14th place, and Toronto 15th place. There are no cities in Israel in the top 20 for quality of living. The best city in Israel, Tel Aviv, is in 99th place. For Life Expectancy as of 2012, Canada is in 12th place in the world with 81.48 years, and Israel is in 18th place with 81.07 years. Your living longer in Canada! And don't kid yourself, there are more Jews leaving Israel than are coming. In Israel, the streets are dirty, buildings poorly maintained, taxes are high and wages are low. A safe haven should be a place where you don't need a gun, and you don't have to worry about rocket fire from your neighbors. Israel is not that place.
37. israel,the jewish haven
dongszkie ,   cebu city philippine   (03.23.12)
i fully agree w/ this subject & fully agree to the establishment of a jewish state in that very area coz i feel that's their rightful place..though they're still quite safe in most of western countries. am so tired of these silly anti-semitism happening everywhere. i can't understand!!!why?
38. #36 We are not leaving
David ,   Modiin, Israel   (03.23.12)
To add to your discussion with Jay. I am a 40 year old with three children. We are a secular family who were all born in sunny Florida. I had my own practice there, and financially we were doing just fine. In 2004, we made the decision to move to Israel. Every time we visit Florida, my children approach us and whisper, "how can people live here?" We are always very happy to get back home to Israel. I don't make the high income that I did in Israel, but with maturity you soon realize that icome does not translate to life satisfaction. The only regret we have about moving to Israel is that we didn't come here earlier. #36, there is no place on earth we would raise our kids except for here in Israel.
39. #36. You sound like a 1920s Weimar Republic Jew.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.25.12)
#36. Establishment Jews in the (pre HItler) 1920s Weimar Republic extolled Germany in terms very similar to what you're saying about Canada. I suggest you do a little research about Anti-Semitism in WW II Canada before posting more ridiculous material. I especially recommend the book, "None Is Too Many", regarding Canada's policies towards Jews fleeing the Holocaust.
