31. Electricity to the people
David ,   Herzlyia   (05.14.12)
I think that the last 3 President /CEO of the Israeli electrical company should be punished financially on the basis of the money they did while managing the company. Please do help find a lawyer that will collaborate in this venture. Secondary - but still to be expressed - I think that cutting back the 2% distributed to the Palestinians is a shame before becoming a "huzpe" ...
32. Its only fair from Israel
Heinz Fritschi ,   Switzerland   (05.14.12)
Becose most of the people in Gaza are members of Hamas. In fakt, Gaza culd reciev oil or gas from their friends in Aegyt? They culd reciev the gas supplied befor to Israel?
33. supplying electricity to gaza
jennifer ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (05.14.12)
It is totally uncomprehensible to me WHY Israel should feel it neccessary to supply electricity, or for that matter water and gas, to gaza-who consider themself an independent nation! If we supply them with anything, it should be at a very big profit margin!
34. Just do it !
who cares   (05.14.12)
35. Cut off Gaza's [power
DAVID ,   Yaffo, Israel   (05.14.12)
Finally something that makes sense in this madness where we're allowing them so much so that they are capable to shoot their Qasams and Grads to us. They should never get automatic riffles M-16 in the first place from us as well. Where in the Hell in this world you see police with automatic riffles???
36. Gaza Electricity
Lio ,   UK   (05.14.12)
Nice to see so many talkbacks filled with such compassion for fellow human beings...what makes you think you are so superior, doing what you are doing to the weak and vulnerable?
37. SECURE BIG ISRAEL, Sinai back, nonviolent transfer, BALANCE.
Jerry ,   The Netherlands   (05.15.12)
38. #36 lio
solomon ,   bklyn   (05.15.12)
"weak and vulnerable"? You speak of Hamas, remember, and they are anything but. The problem is actually a dispute between the PA and Hamas: the PA says Hamas hasn't paid its bills (Hamas money goes to Israel through the PA). It's not Israel's job to solve the arabs' problems.
39. Broken taboo
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (05.15.12)
We are not meant to have such long memories! When it comes to Hamas and Arafat, about ten minutes is all we should remember. Arafat? Who's he? I've forgotten already!
40. To: No. 36
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.15.12)
Weak and vulnerable terrorists and terrorist sympathizers. Therein the difference, eh, boychik? How much "compassion" do you have for people who have sent suicide bombers, kidnapped an Israeli soldier and subjected him to unbearable torture, and have fired 15,000 missiles and mortars at civilian population centers in Israel? You are a complete and total fraud. Give it up. Unless you enjoy being a laughingstock. I suspect you've had considerable experience with that.
41. To: No. 8
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (05.15.12)
Oh, that's rich. Care to explain how Gaza "helps" Israel? By sending suicide bombers? By kidnpping an Israeli soldier? By firing 15,000 missiles and mortars at Israeli population centers? And Turkey helps Cyprus, too, right? You are a blithering idiot, Alexander. Not so great.
42. To defend human rights of Gazans we must cut the regime
Miron ,   USA   (05.15.12)
from Israel's grid. No sacrifice is too great no stone should be left unturned. Hamas, your place is in North Korea.
43. #36 just one question
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (05.15.12)
How much aid did you send to the Germans in either World War 1 or 2? Please answer that and get back to us about your morality.
44. #43: see what Hillel said!
Harmen ,   Leiden, Netherlands   (05.16.12)
Dear #43, a bit of compassion never hurt anybody. As the rabbi Hillel said: "That which is hateful to you, do not do to your fellow. That is the whole Torah; the rest is the explanation; go and learn." Why can we not show compassion to the other, even when the other does not show it to us? Especially when we are in a position of strength and wealth, so we being compassionate is so much easier to do. With kind regards, Harmen
45. Hey Harmen # 43, When someone is firing rockets at you
Jorge   (05.16.12)
I am sure that you would not be very compassionate, more so if your family was the target, and the aim of the rockets is not military, but aims to kill civilians, by the way, why not show some "compassion" to Jews beign attacked almost every day by Arabs and Muslims that openly state that their aim is to wipe the Jews of the face of the earth
46. #43 Harmen
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (05.16.12)
Compassion for those that have announced their goal is our genocide is stupid and Hillel would disagree with everything you wrote. They are attempting to murder 7 million Jews - this they have stated, hell it's in their charter. To hell with such stupidity. Aiding people that want to commit genocide is a war crime.
47. Electric Workers Smoke-Screen
David Chester ,   Petach Tikva, Israel   (05.16.12)
To introduce the Gaza supply as the reason for financial losses is a smoke screen, to hide the relatively big salaries workers in the electrical company are being paid along with free electricity, which they tend to waste! If the company wants to balance their books and not take it out of taxes, then they should not spread rumours about how much electricity is going to Gaza and explain the forces that operate against wage reductions that the political workers union are threatening us with.
48. #44 harmen
solomon ,   bklyn   (05.16.12)
Compassion is one thing. Letting someone (#36 lio) lie and therefore create a false impression is not the same as compassion. It is being complicit in the lie and therefore lieing as well. This is not something Hillel would countenance.
