We will pay more taxes to feed 500,000 Africans? Besides there is not enough jails for all of them. Even terrorist are fewer than African invaders. And if they are resting in jail getting free food that's the dream come true of this third world garbage.

Putting illegals into detention with 3 slops and a flop is costly and an invitation to other foreign nationals to invade Israel since that is more than they get in a lot of places. DEPORT THEM! The UN has been specifically tasked to look after refugees. The UN has TWO - not one but two organizations to care and house refugee claimants: UNHCR and UNRWA. Either one of those could set up additional camps in Egypt to look after genuine refugees fleeing persecution or hunger or other reasons. Take into account that Africa has been afflicted by famine, violence and political upheaval for centuries. Now that Israel is in a state of complete confusion as to what to do with migrants, they seem to be all heading for the border. This situation is unsustainable. Deport economic migrants. Hand over genuine refugee claimants to UNRWA.

Do any of the proponents of incarceration as a solution have the answer to that question? Will they be then released on the streets once more? Will they be deported? If so, why not now instead of paying for their upkeep for all the months or years they will be incarcerated? If breaching the border is a crime, then prosecute and deport immediately.

Our elderly go hungry and our youth have no jobs but you want to feed and house 2,000 illegals a month for--how long? Egypt shoots them, so they come here. Wake up, soon there will be no Israel! So these 60.000 Africans had to go all the way to Israel to find a safe haven? They will not fool anyone. Send them back to Africa - alternatively send them to the Arab states or the EU. Israel is a tiny country. We can't absorb them and 20% of our population is already non Jewish. We don't want more non Jews in Israel. We want to preserve our tiny country as a Jewish state.

We have an average of 2000 new people a month entering through Sinai what are we going to do with them in 10 days? They will be locked up for 10 days then released onto the streets to rob & rape. Allow them to be held for 3 years it does actually give the police an opportunity to at least try and clean up the streets because if they are locked up for 3 years it gives us plenty of time to try and arrange deportation. We need the police with help from the border police, the army or anybody else they need to draft in start holding random spot checks and if they can't prove they are allowed to be here they are arrested. Good for the Israeli's who don't want these people taking over the streets and its good for the infiltrators themselves because although they are prisoners they are getting shelter, 3 meals a day and medical care which has got to be better than the bus station.

Tracy The problem is many of them are legitimate refugees and unlike with economic migrants from safe countries just looking for the good life there are certain international obligations Israel is bound by when it comes to refugees. We cannot deport refugees into a danger zone so we have to do deals with third countries to take them in etc and that cannot be done in 10 days. Lock them up for up to 3 years and they are not on the streets never to be heard of again so we can never deport them. The left wing do gooders would have us give them all jobs, help them find places to live and invest in the development of neighborhoods where they live. What we need to be doing is building 3-4 super detention centers which can house thousands instead of just the one so we can keep them locked up without taking up prison space.

Yes, I don't live in Israel but my children,grandchildren and great grandchildren do and it is for their benifit and all of Israel that I would argue the government to send these infiltrators back from where they came.It is not out of racism but to keep Israel Jewish and free from the HIV ills,illiteracy and crime they bring with them.If this is allowed to continue Israel will surely end up another 3rd world country G-d forbid..

Nowhere in Rivkah's post does it say that all immigrants are rapists or child mosesters. Nowhere in her post does she speak of skin color. If you can't even comprehend her post then who are you to presume what Rivkah thinks and just what does California or American Indians have to do with Rivkah or this story? You can rest assured the Left will use international law to make sure Africans (refugees and otherwise) keep coming into Israel and that they are allowed to stay. That's why keeping them incarcerated works in their favor. Claimants to refuge must be handed over to UNRWA or UNHCR. That's the only humane mechanism that will protect refugees, and at the same time prevent Israel from being flooded with millions (yes, millions in the years to come) of non-Jewish refugees. Economic migrants should be deported immediately, as soon as their status is clarified. This is compliant with international law. ______ The refugee issue will never go away. Israel needs a policy that will be compliant with international law, and with clear implementation guidelines so that Israelis won't continue to anguish over the PR and legal aspects of this situation.
