as ever, you're more than articulate and exactly right. Only one answer BUILD BABY BUILD!!!! Shabbat Shalom.
62. # 38 Then tell your kids the same
Bad Assed Jew ,   United States   (06.16.12)
America has never honored any treaty she made with her 'native peoples', the American Indians, who ironically, were originally from Siberia.... and are now on government 'reservations', most live beneath the poverty line, many have serious alcohol, domestic violence issues as well as an educational system that fails them as does ironically, the 'natives' of Australia, or any other land where the while man has become the owners of the land, with through wars. You are mildly amusing... Make your point but, please, don't ignore the obvious You left enough room in your case to fly a 737 through.
63. # 50 Sarah B. Luv it!!!!!!

Your english and thought process shows the fragile remains of a limited education, one that must have been from a madras. How old are you, 12? ( to match your IQ )
65. #49,Kobi Martin,are you ignorant or what ?
ab   (06.16.12)
Germany lost huge swaths of her ancestral land after the WW2 started and lost by her. Königsberg is called Kaliningrad ,Breslau Vroclaw ,Sudetenland has a Chech name ,etc, etc. Old German University cities ,with great thinkers and Nobel laureates deriving from there. And this land is completely emptied of its German population. Are you saying Allies "were not decent people" and commited a theft ?
66. Tell them we are surrounded by...
Birdi ,   Israel   (06.16.12)
...hundreds of millions of people who have sympathy for the Palestinians and that Israel can no longer do things that cause more and more people to hate us. Sarah B likes to say that because other nations in the past have stolen land, that Israel should also be allowed to steal land. Pretty stupid argument, especially because every time Israel steals land we only piss off the world and risk losing the support of our only friend (the US.) Tell your kids that you no longer want to be a part of actions (settlement building) that has cost Israel its moral soul and may, one day very soon, cost us our nation. We're supposed to be a smart people, perhaps we should start acting like it.
67. #66. Israeli ownership of Judea/Samaria is proven fact.
Chaim ,   Israel   (06.16.12)
#66. Israeli ownership of Judea and Samaria is a proven fact. Many world renowned international law experts have proven it incontrovertibly, including Eugene Rostow, author of U.N. Resolution 242 and David M. Phillips, Northeastern University School of Law. Palestine, on the other hand, is a completely fictional entity that never existed and never will.
68. # 65, Sarah B., ignoramus
Kobi Martin   (06.16.12)
Ok, I see you prefer to tell your children that Israel modeled its behavior in relation to the WBank based on wrongdoings made by Nazis, colonial powers that started wars and lost. Even knowing it is wrong Israelis just said: "it is wrong, but the same happened to Italy, Germany, etc. So, let's do it". But, dont forget to tell the whole story. Tell your children that any exchange of population were absorbed and granted civil rights. There is no such thing as second class citizens referring to absorbed population. If you want to annex or grab land, go ahead. But remember to treat the absorbed population as your population. Go look how German and Italy democracies work and come back again.
69. #68,history-less Kobi Martin,what "absorbed population"?
ab   (06.16.12)
Allies didn't "absorb" the German population.ALL Germans were expelled from their ancestral lands in E:europe after the WW". Fact yopu consider Chechs and Poles doing it with the Germans on territories seized by them after WW2 as "Colonial Powers" proves you are devoid of any knowledge of History and just throw slogans.
70. Israel did it all wrong...so own up and tell the trutn,,,
Edithann ,   USA   (06.16.12)
You were to greedy in stealing Palestine you let Germany slip away...now Germany is the Power House and will be running things .. . But not to worry, you'll still have anti-Semitism, you're GNP..Germany can't touch that product... TATA

Dorothea Killus ,   Germany   (06.16.12)
- dear family in such a situation! Thank you for being so frank in your article! I am only very sorry that your openness is abused by people to even attack you. I pray for you, your husband and your children. May you in all this experience how the LORD who is the Most High cares for you, even and foremost your souls.
72. #48 Stan and all who blame Jews for anti-Semitism
Tracy W   (06.16.12)
A well known rabbi wrote a letter to the world, particularly to Europe, a few years back. He called his letter "Dear World". In it he lists the way Jews have upset the world through the centuries. The Romans were so upset that they drove the Jews into exile, changed the name of their land into "Palestine", and enslaved them. Years passed, and Europeans were so upset that they regularly tortured and massacred Jews. And then one day the Jews decided to return home to Israel. But that also upset the Europeans. Europeans did not want them in Europe. They were so adamant about NOT having them in Europe that they were gassing and burning millions of them. But Europeans - the British particularly - still did not want Jews to go back to their homeland. They barred their way into Israel (or Palestine, if you wish) - even as the ovens were going full blast burning Jews. Somehow or other the surviving Jews managed to reconstitute their state. Did the world stop being upset? Oh, no! They were then, and are still now, turning away from carnage and real oppression in other parts of the world to focus single-mindedly on ... the Jews! So as long as there is one breathing Jew, the world will continue to be upset with us. Google "Dear World - Rabbi" for similar message to the one I just wrote, but written with true eloquence.

and normalize relations with the Arabs. Remember Bibi's ECONOMIC PIECE PLAN? He is leading this march to destruction because his god is money and somehow he thinks it will work (for him, his capitalist buddies, and maybe the Arabs). Too bad what it does to "the settlers".

Kobi Martin   (06.16.12)
Ab, dearest, it is a waste of time arguing with you. You even cannot understand the basic assumptions in this discussion. It is not, obviously, the alliens that should absorb the national homeland, but the other way around: all Germans, Chechs (sic), Italians as the rest all populations, of the same nationality or not, were granted plain civil rights. Forget about 2 States, dude, we are talking here about a big Israel, from Jordan to the Mediterranean, in a strong democracy, like Germany, Italy and all nations you mentioned, including the Chechs (sic). Israel won an unprovoked war? Ok, get the territory and grand civil and political rights to the populations absorbed as Chile, Italy, Germany did in similar cases. Learn history, Ab, to learn it, not to repeat it.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.17.12)
There are no Jews in Libya, fool. There is a minuscule community on the island of Djerba in Tunisia. There is a remnant of the once glorious Jewish community in Morocco. There are no Jews in Algeria. There is only a tiny community remaining in Egypt, all of it in Alexandria. There are no Jews in Jordan. The Jews of Iraq and Yemen had to be airlifted to safety. Ninety percent of Iran's once thriving Jewish community have left. There is only a small fragment of Turkey's Jewish community left, and they live in constant fear. For that matter, all Jews remaining in Arab and Moslem countries live in fear. You're an Arab -- you tell me why one million Jews were expelled and all their property stolen. The ones that remained behind could not leave -- certainly that remains the case with respect to the tiny Jewish population of Syria.
79. To: No. 49
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.17.12)
The United States did not return Iwo Jima to the Japanese until 1968. The United States continues to control 90% of the island of Okinawa. Following the Spanish American War of 1898, the United States took control of the Philippines, Cuba, the Marshall Islands and a couple of other islands that formerly belonged to Spain. I know Israel is a nation of laws. But until Judea and Samaria are formerly annexed, they are not part of Israel, are they? They remain non-sovereign. It was wrong for the Israeli courts to assume juridical responsibility for what goes on in Judea and Samaria; that is rightfully the province of the military. If you want to apply Israeli law, fine -- annex Judea and Samaria first. Finally, the builders of Ulpana acted with complete good faith. How else do you explain -- years after the fact -- a "brother" turning up claiming that the land was his? Apart from the fact that the provenance is faulty to begin with, I guess no one really cared about the land until Israelis came and turned it into something. How typically Arab of them! That's why Arabs drifted into Palestine to begin with; once the Jews of the First and Second Aliyot turned it into something. Bones are articulated, dear. People are articulate. Thought you might want to know. Also -- in case you are interested -- Germany lost 25% of its land mass following World War II. Italy lost the entire province of Istria. Wars do have consequences for the aggressors when said aggressors lose. Thought you might want to know that, too.
80. To: No. 68
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (06.17.12)
Oh, I'm all for annexing Judea and Samaria. I'm also for then repatriating its Arab residents to Jordan, country of their citizenship, courtesy of Jordan's 1954 Citizenship Law, which granted Jordanian citizenship to all Arabs living in the West Bank AND THEIR PROGENY (that's the key) IRREVOCABLY. Jordan has since tried to revoke that grant of citizenship, and claims it has, but The Hague disagrees, and has ruled several times that an irrevocable grant of citizenship is precisely that -- IRREVOCABLE. Why don't you look at Germany and study the mess that happened following unification of East and West Germany? Do you have any idea the problems which arose -- many of which continue to this day; quite bitterly in fact -- when people from East Germany who had made their way to the West tried to reclaim their properties? If you want to see an "ignoramus," Kobeleh, you need look no further than your mirror.
81. @76 G-d speaks thru u?! Really? Medication can fix that!

84. Sarah B.#79, Here's an explanatio
PaulZion ,   Israel   (06.17.12)
Ever heard of abuse of an unvalid power of attorney? That's probably what was - and I can guess this as it part of my professional expertise. The "brother" probably lives in the US and gave his brother a general power of attorney. That kind of power of attorney does not relate to purchase or sale of real estate unless specifically stated, with the specific real estate mentioned. It was also probably a reversible power of attorney. Therefore, legally the brother had no right to sell off his sibling's part, as it seems the property was jointly owned. This being the case, the contractor and the planning committee DID NOT ACT IN GOOD FAITH! As to your calls for annexation: Can you guess why Israel hasn't done it yet for the last 45 years? It is against International Law. Read article 101 of the UN Charter and the Geneva Conventions. These articles were adopted in 1949, long before the 6 Day War. Oh, and if you yourself state that the West Bank is the province of the MILITARY, then it is a military zone. What the hell are civilian settlements doing there??

ranted "civil rights" in their territories absorbed by Poland,Russia,Chechoslovakia(now Chech Republic). They were expelled.Totally,3 millions from Sudetenland,5 millons from Pomern and Schlesien,3 million from East Preussia. Got it ?
86. # 85 You are really slow to understand, nahon?
Kobi Martin   (06.17.12)
Don't try to look in History examples of minorities that were denied citizenship in democratic states. We can deny citizenship to the Palestinians with anex J & S, but we will be modeled after S.Africa, Iran or China. Is tha what you want? Second, you really dont understand, he? Any powerful country today, let's say, Israel, Russia or North Korea could trigger a war, win and expell their population to increase territory. Dude, this is so easy and it would be so go to be big. There is only a problem: it is illegal. Poland, Russia, Chech Republic, Romenia didn't want a German minority inside their countries and expelled them instead of granting them civil rights. Is this the model you want to impose on my country? Authoritarian, despotic, cruel Communist states? No thanks. Israel is a democracy and will be forever. Arabs-Israelis in Israel are citizens. Palestinians absorbed by Israel will be citizens. Period. Now, go back to the History books and bring me a REAL example of a democracy that denied political, civil rights to its minority.

Paul, chaver, it is impossible to keep a solid political debate here because people like Sarah resort to religious perspectives. Divine right, Sebastianism, messianic fullfilment are current words used here to explain the political situation. It is fierce battle because we, within the Green Line, are proud Zionists and want our country to be Jewish, with our moral codes and values. On the other hand, the fanatical stratus want to destroy the Zionist dream by bringing to the debate refferences to apartheid, nazi policies of population transfer, liebenstraum, divine right of land, etc. They really believe 2.5 million Arabs can be removed from the West Bank and cede space to Israel to be rebuilt as in 3.000 years ago. You cannot argue with this people in rational terms.
88. #67 Chaim shalom, you're doing it again
Stan ,   Israel   (06.17.12)
Rostow was a Jew and a good Zionist. You are misleading by stating that he and he alone was the author of 242. He was one of four men responsible for this report. "Israeli ownership ........is a proven fact" How can you write such rubbish? The first clause of 242 states clearly that Israel's Army must withdraw from occupied territory! As for the last sentence about Palestine, I answered you with FACTS. See Tal Brody's article. In short you are a dreamer who refuses to face the facts of this world
89. #72 Dear Tracy are you a follower of
Stan ,   Israel   (06.17.12)
Meir Kahana who wrote the "dear world" which you quoted? I see that both you and he like to use poetic licence. I wrote that 45 years of occupation are causing suffering to Palestinians, and this has led to anti-Semitism. I did not blame Jews in NY, London or Sydney or anywhere else for that matter. The sad thing is that Jews who support Israel unconditionally are now having to face more and more Anti-Semitic violence all over the world. In "Dear World" Kahane writes that (I quote you Tracy) "But that also upset the Europeans" This is utter rubbish. 17 European States supported the establishment of a Jewish State. 2 voted against, Greece & Turkey. Then Kahana writes that Israel decided to leave the world.????? How do you leave the world????? Israel joined the UN, an act which is the opposite to what he wrote. Tracy, politics is a serious business, so leave the poetry out of it

Firstly, let me state that it is a pleasure to meet talkbackers like you who are sane and reasonable. Too often that is a rare commodity. Thank you. The thing is that if we don't bother, then we allow the field to be filled by the fanatics, and this creates a warped picture to others who read the responses. I think it IS important for a voice of reason by Zionists who still have a moral conscience to be heard.
