66. Conflict has always been about Arabs wanting Jews gone.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.10.12)
The author is completely correct. The conflict has never been about land per se. It has always been about mostly Moslem Arabs wanting Jews gone. Period.
67. Confronting lies with truth

Some of us who point out the discrepancies and contradictions that the Koran and the religion of Islam have with the Holy Bible are sometimes called Islam phobic. I neither fear nor hate Muslims, but I feel I have a right and obligation to point out the truths that I see. There are those that out of fear succumb to political correctness, but fear is usually used by Islamists to force some people to submit to Islam. Muslims are commanded to not take Jews and Christians as friends (Surah 5:51 Al Ma’idah). Most extremists cannot bear critique, and some Islamist claim that they are doing their duty by killing those who in their point of view offend Islam, so who are the real phoebes?

71. to Steve # 50 -- you missed my point
Ron from NJ ,   Newark, NJ   (07.11.12)
You completely missed my point. I'm the last guy to make excuses or in any way justify the current Arab/Muslim hatred of Jews. My point is only that Jew-hatred has not been "a cornerstone of Islam from its birth" as the author claims. No doubt Jews had second-class status in Muslim lands, but this was not specific to Jews -- all non-Muslims were treated this way, or even worse if they were regarded as pagans. Jews in Muslim lands were not generally treated as "treacherous" people or "Allah's enemies" who merited death. Regarding your point about the Jews who returned to build the 2nd Temple -- that occurred long before Islam, so clearly, Islam and the Quran are not per se the root of the conflict. And the locals who were unhappy at the Jews' return were not even ethnic Arabs, who would migrate there hundreds of years later.

iam from jerusalem and your knowledge about the israili palastinian conflect is less than zero in the history at time of khalifa omar who was the first moslem to enter jerusalem the patriyark of jerusalem aske the khalifa to let jerusalem free of the jews this is the first thing of moslem rulling jerusalem .. this s the history and the religion but nowadays the conflect is started after the first world war and the begining of migration of jews to palastine after the end of othmani rule of the palastine
