1. History repeats itself in Europe, now led by the left who
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (07.10.12)
tell themselves they are only "antizionist " while ignoring the imperialist racist, rejectionist openly stated plans of their new "proletariat" the Moslem world that can do no wrong. They will in the end get their comeuppance as they become minorities in one city after another in Europe. Marseilles is the first, the Jews are looking at leaving, the useful idiots will take a while longer.
2. Adhering to international law
Bradfordian   (07.10.12)
Now known in Israel as capitulating to Arab demands.
3. Prehaps
Sarah B (No not her)   (07.10.12)
Isrtael relying on the EU as a market for 75% of everything that we produce is a mistake. With that sort of economic dependency by Israel no wonder Europe believes that it can interfere with the internal affairs of Israel, and challenge our occupation of the West bank and our actions in Gaza. Time to make ourselves less economically reliant on Europe and seek markets in other parts of the world.
4. Europe united against Israel
David   (07.10.12)
is what the self-hating racist secular Jews in Israel are towards haredim in particular and religious Jews in general, midah keneged midah (measure for measure).
5. Bradfordian Which International law would that be?
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (07.10.12)
Another perfect example of deflecting and ignoring what is going on in your country and what the Arabs say & do as "antizionism". Tell us how beating up Jews in the street or firing bullets at a Jewish school in England is "antizionist". BTW Balfour declaration is not extinguished, nor are other resolutions allowing Jews to settle in the WB. How is the" law abiding" community of Badford?
6. Ah, nothing has changed
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.10.12)
Europe still blames the Jews for all their ills. Just think of the plight of poor old Poland, that actually has to face up to its mismanagement and other assorted failings. There are only a handful of Jews left in Poland -- pretty hard to blame the Jews for what's wrong with Poland. Well, since everyone still needs to blame all their ills on the Jews -- what better target than the State of Israel? Of course, these days, Israel is more than capable of taking care of Jews -- foreign and domestic -- and the desperate search for a suitable scapegoat has thus far eluded the Europeans. Too bad. Maybe it's time for the Europeans to look within theirselves to discover what is wrong with Europe. A useful exercise, if nothing else. I wonder if the Europeans realize that no one will miss them once they have left this mortal coil ....

(07.10.12)
Of course you are not Sarah B. Sarah B knows how to spell the word perhaps. I think she also knows how to spell Israel. There is no letter t in Israel.
8. Europe being led around by Mohamad
Arnold ,   Canada   (07.10.12)
One thing about we humans. Sorrowfully most of us look to put blame elsewhere when things go awry. If the EU would ask itself if Israel would disappear this afternoon , would the economy bounce back tomorrow and would the lives of all the Arab / Islamic countries flourish ? If they would say yes then all hope for mankind is lost.
9. #4 really?
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (07.10.12)
Genocide, theft and ethnic cleansing are now international laws? Since when - you have violated international LAWS not the bullshit you put out every single day that we have been around, and yes even before that as well. How about you assholes stop interfering in our internal affairs - like international laws state.
10. to # 4
david ,   Herzlia,Israel   (07.10.12)
A lot but not all Haredim are freeloaders, living off the people who work and still have the HUITZPA to complain about the secular people that work, serve in the army, worry about their children for 3 years of military service and 20 years of miluim,,,,, and meantime the haredim are becoming more and more parasites..... so David , shut up, go to work to support yourself and your family, do 3 years army service , pray as much as you want .... and only then you will be a MENCH !!!!
11. I think those on the picture...
Esteban ,   Argentina   (07.10.12)
...are no more. Am I wrong or those people are the Norweigan leftists gunned down couple of months ago?
12. Why are we surprised at Europe's anti Israel stance?
David ,   Karmiel, Israel   (07.10.12)
Europe stood by when 6 million Jews were murdered by the Nazis assisted, in many cases, by Frenchmen, Poles, Ukrainians, Latvians, Lithuanians, Romanians, then Czechoslovakians and many others. The history of Jewish persecution in both Eastern and Western Europe as well as Russia, Tzarist, the USSR and even today, is long and sordid with hatred and brutality unmatched in any "civilized country". Add to this the "Occupation" of Europe by Muslims, you have the perfect reason for the hatred of Jews, which hibernated after the Holocaust, to be rekindled with an inferno that Hitler, Himmler and Goebbels would have been proud of. Europe was blind to the Nazis until it was too late and history is repeating itself. Anyone who thinks that the Palestine issue is the cause of this is both stupid and naive. The cause is one thing: blatant hatred of Jews! What is even more disturbing than the situation in Europe is the rise of Antisemitism in the USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia and South Africa. The solution, well, there just isn't one because you cannot change human nature and its lust for a scapegoat and the best one is the Jew!
13. My View From Europe
David ,   Stockholm, Sweden   (07.10.12)
In my view, the vast populations of Europe just don't care about Israel or the Palestinians. The hostility to Israel is a leftover by the radical lefists domination of the universities here. However if you ask young Europeans, if they have an opinion at all it tends to be slightly pro-Israel because they see what Arabs are like in their own backyard and can relate to Israel. The European elites never see this side and live removed the masses. Still, there is a paranoia in Israel over Europe. Europe is Israel's biggest trading partner by far, Israel can compete in Eurovision song contest, it's teams can play in European football tournaments and so on. There are even calls to let Israel inside the EU(Don't worry, that doesn't mean you have to get the Euro and you don't have to bail out Eurozone countries. Being in the EU is another thing). But why do Israeli commentators so obssess over Europe? Because they see the radical leftists in academia calling for boycotts etc and think that these people are representative. They are not. Israel, get over your paranoia.
14. Israel should cut all ties with Europe
Jarda ,   Czech Republic   (07.10.12)
and cooperate with its neighbors
15. Israel and Europe
Bertram ,   London, UK   (07.10.12)
My computer must have malfunctioned since, surprisingly, a section of the article read: Even the long-standing problems of Israel and the MIddle East cannot ease the inherent hostility of the Jewish state to the European apparatus, located in Brussels. By now it looks like a sick obsession that blinds the patient’s eyes and prevents him from seeing his real problems. Surely, this cannot be so.
16. europa
jakub ,   prague   (07.10.12)
Well I think that most Czechs behind Israel
17. European Relations
Elliott Alhadeff ,   Sammamish, USA   (07.10.12)
While recognizing anti-Semitism is rampant and led by the Islamic population explosion, Israel must be cognizant at the possible economic and political sanctions the EU and ultimately the US will take if Israel acts independently, e.g., Iranian attack or increased settlement activity. It's still "sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me..."
18. yeah
Matt   (07.10.12)
The US is in decline and will have less influence and the EU was meant to be a new superpower to rival the US. Bad news for Israel, however the EU is broke, likely to break up, right wing Israeli friendly parties are taking control of Parliaments, the Nederlands for example, bought down the government. So things could be worse.
19. Europe lashes out at Jews as it goes down the toilet.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.10.12)
In Medieval Europe, whenever anything went wrong; the standard response was to blame the Jews. Nothing has changed. Today, Europe is going down the toilet so guess what? Europe blames the Jews. Only now the home grown European Jew haters are accompanied by ever growing numbers of Moslem Jew and Christian haters.
20. #4, it is when Arabs and their supporters interpret the law
Katamon ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (07.10.12)
And that precisely is the case here. The dominant interpretations of international law in relation to the Israeli/Arab conflict is the one that the Arabs have pushed through with their supporters in the third world and among the communists and dictators. Law can be interpreted many ways and international law gets interpreted by the side that has more friends.
21. Hitler's Dream Europe under Germany
SleepWith1EyeOpen ,   Jerusalem Israel   (07.10.12)
Hitler dreamed of a "United States of Europe " under German control looks like his dream is coming true
22. To nr 3: Facts about Israel- EU trade
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (07.10.12)
Exports: In 1995, 40.9% of Israel's exports went to Europe. In 2000, it was 35.0%, in 2005 it was 34.5% and in 2008 it was 33.3%. Source: "The Israeli Economy from the Foundation of the State through the 21st Century" by Paul Rivlin. We see that as the years elapse, there is a lower percentage of Israel's exports going to the European countries. That's a good sign, because Israel's and other small countries' wealth are based on exports - they are export based economies. Israel is an export based economy. Like you said: it is in Israel's best interest to find NEW business partners outside of Europe. That's precisely what I've said for a very long time. Imports: In 1995, 50.1% of Israel's imports came from the European countries. In 2000, the figure was 41.9%. In 2005 the figure was 37.3%. In 2008 the figure was 33.8%. We see a steady decline of how many percent of Israel's imports come from Europe. My suggestion is that Israel should primarily focus on USA, Canada, Latin America, African states, Russia, India, China, South East Asia, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan and Australia. Israel should start to either increase trade with non European countries or divest from Europe - or both. There is NO lack of business partners and there is no lack of countries that want to do business with Israel. Israel's leadership just needs to grow 2 things: 1) brains and 2) balls. I think the Israeli exports to Europe as a percentage of total annual Israeli exports should be no more than 15% and Israeli imports from Europe should be no more than 20%of Israel's annual total imports.
23. Bertram - what is wrong with you?
Alexander ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (07.10.12)
Here is the exact quotation from the article: "Even the Euro crisis, which threatens to sink European unity into a new nationalist storm, cannot ease the inherent hostility of the European apparatus, located in Brussels, to the Jewish state. By now it looks like a sick obsession that blinds the patient’s eyes and prevents him from seeing his real problems."
24. Nr 13. You err !.

26. To #14 Jarda
Jose Farias ,   Sao PAulo - Brasil   (07.10.12)
Jarda, what do you mean "cooperate with its neighbors"?
27. Europe hates any live Jew
Bad Ased Jew ,   United States   (07.10.12)
and as Europe sink into the morass of utter poverty and chaos, they still cannot refrain from their old adage, "Kill the Jew." ( isn't it always the Jew?) Instead, it is they who are dead and just don't know it. They, and their newest allies of paid for formally anti semitism can rot in hell as not only europe but arab spring nations as well try and manage their revolts, leaving uncounted bodies dead in the streets and, in the torture centers. "Vengeance is mine saith the Lord."
28. # 13 your view from Europe
Bad Ased Jew ,   United States   (07.10.12)
"Still there is a paranoia in israel over Europe." How astute of you... LOL, could the paranoia be due to the cooperation of all of Europe to hand over her Jews so their property could be stolen and the insurance companies NOT pay for them as the Jews were "Enemies of the state"? and, wasn't it easier to eliminate them than to either pay them for their losses or, to free the Jews and face courts alter the wars end? Sweden has her own worries, why not aid her? Israel sure doesn't need you. You know nothing of history or, the holocaust, for that matter.
29. Europe's attitude to Israel
Spencer ,   Israel   (07.10.12)
Europe is always trying to be politically correct and fearful of antagonising the Muslims who are slowly taking over in Europe. Are you surprised at Europe's continual stance against Israel???
30. Antisemitism is rooted in European-Christian
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (07.10.12)
