31. That says it all about the E.U. It doesn't matter.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.24.12)
The refusal of the E.U. to list Hizbullah as a terrorist organization says it all. Never again should Israel listen to the E.U. It is completely immoral at best. The E.U. should never mater again. Not it's "peace talks". Not it's opinions. Not it's anything.
32. The EU is a Joke
Ron ,   oc us   (07.24.12)
They just flat out hate Israel and Jews. Not all of Europe to be sure but whoever made or makes these decisions are a sick joke.
33. EU ..... You need to get a grip
Ehai ,   Kfar Saba, Israel   (07.24.12)
It's more than pathetic that the EU presidency can't take a lead on the question of Hezbollah. I suggest Mr. Lieberman should begin impressing upon all EU Foreign Ministers that the time is ripe to convene an EU Conference on Terrorism. They need to focus on the implications the EU financial collapse is having on the growth of terrorism. Blacklisting of Hezbollah could result from such a conference. More than this the EU needs to invest more intelligence and cultural intellect in discouraging its citizens (especially radical militarist muslims) from departing from the idals of Human Rights in their struggle for a better economic model.
34. I suppose ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.24.12)
... that Israel can always nullify the agreement with Cyprus to share the natural gas fields discovered by Israel. And perhaps pricing to bankrupt Europe will be at the level that everyone else charges them -- the Europeans will still chomp at the bit, because getting natural gas from the Mediterranean is not the logistical and expensive nightmare involved in getting it from anywhere else. Then, let's re-visit the issue of stating the obvious -- Hezbollah is a terrorist organization. With a long history of terrorist acts. They are not a political party any more than Al Qaeda is a political party. That they have insinuated themselves into Lebanese politics through threats, bribes and assassinations is unfortunate, but it doesn't change the fact that they are a terrorist organization. Political parties do not stockpile weapons, right?
35. @30 they need 4 their own 2 become collateral damage....
Just Sayin' ,   Israel   (07.24.12)
not that I am wishing collateral damage on anyone...but the Europeans are being as stiff necked as we are. Once they have a few incidents involving European collateral damage then they will reconsider and change their minds. By the way #30 besides AMIA you forgot two additional attacks: 1. Israeli Embassy in Buenos Aires (1992) 2. Israeli Embassy in London (1994)
36. It would be funny if it was not so sad...
(07.24.12)
37. come on, you guys don't need to ask why
The Mad Zionist ,   SF-NY-IS   (07.24.12)
IWe all know that they know they are terrorists. They are afraid of what Hezbollah is capable of because of the Muslim problem they got themselves into. Imagine all the muslims turning on Europe, it's going to happen, but why accelerate it. The Europeans are scared that's it, and for good reason. My father can't even walk in the neighborhood he grew up in, because now it's all Muslim and they threaten him to get out of their town. They move in, say it's theirs, and when s&=t hits the fan, they'll take over. They did it in Israel and countless other countries. Jake
38. Message for FM Erato Kozakou-Marcoulli
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (07.24.12)
'But Kozakou-Marcoullis said Hezbollah was an organization comprising a party as well as an armed wing and was "active in Lebanese politics".' So were the Nazis - exactly what is your point? That terrorists can't have a political arm? Does not Hamas and the PLO both have political arms?
39. most Americans ARE Europeans ,dumbo
(07.24.12)
Americans are cowered into silence about Jewish power over their lives today but that wont last forever. It never has in the past. Europeans ALWAYS rise up against the Jews eventually. If you think your beloved Americans are any different you are dreaming. America today equals Germany after WW1. Occupy Wall Street should have sent a clear message to all Jews in America.
40. Eurolefties love terrorist rhetoric, they do nothing about Pa
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (07.24.12)
Pakistan sending terrorists to Europe,.Political correctness will be the downfall of Europe.
41. tangible evidence
lenny ,   usa   (07.24.12)
Tangible evidence for these clowns would be a hezbollah bomb shoved up their kiester
42. #29 Per your bizarre foresight. How do you
(07.24.12)
see Israel will survive next door to Europe as a 'sharia continent'.. as you say and Arab states to the east of it.
43. #24 - very true, #29 what do you read for your biz news?
Baruch   (07.24.12)
I'm not so sure the EU will actually collapse as you seem to wish for, it would have collapsed years ago. But dont be so smug assuming a collapsed EU scenario wont affect your life in the US, or life in Israel (where you are probably too scared to make aliyah to)..
44. #33. You need to get a grip living in Kfar Saba
(07.24.12)
How can people living in such places join the real world and comment on big issues like this?
45. The EU is right.
Avi ,   NYC, USA   (07.24.12)
Hizbullah is not a terrorist organization, but a legitimate resistance movement. The biggest terrorist organization that was ever active in Lebanon was the army that invaded it in 1982 bent on murder and destruction.
46. To Sarah #34
Avi ,   NYC, USA   (07.24.12)
Before charging the Europeans high prices for our gas, we should wait and see if there will be any gas coming from the putative "fields". We, in Israel, are used to "energy hoaxes".
47. To #38
Avi ,   NYC, USA   (07.24.12)
I am sure that he read your message and took it to heart!
48. #38Gee Add a couple to the list
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (07.24.12)
The IRA and ETA terrorists also have political arms...but they're still regarded as terrorists in the UK and Spain,2 EU members. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
49. One wonder exactly what planet Avi#45
Arlene ,   Israel   (07.24.12)
is living on. Maybe he sleeps his life away and is that ignorant to who is causing death and destruction i our world, if not his.
50. #45 we know where you stand
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (07.25.12)
Like Europe - you don't consider that 20,000 rockets shot at our civilians to be terrorism. Which make you just as stupid and just as racist as the rest of Europe
51. #39 noname
solomon ,   bklyn   (07.25.12)
Another ludicrous post. Keeping your eyes closed doesn’t make your ridiculous fantasies come true. But keep them closed anyway. You wouldn’t want to see the real dumbo in your own mirror, I’m sure.
52. #45, #47 avi - another ridiculous post
solomon ,   bklyn   (07.25.12)
Keeping your eyes closed neither makes facts go away nor your ridiculous fantasies come true. We don’t expect you to remember why Israel went into Lebanon or that Hezbollah hides behinds its own or anything related to Hezbollah’s threats and murder. And you never disappoint. But don’t worry; no one takes your messages seriously, not even to heart.
53. #39. You are only half right
Tom W ,   USA   (07.25.12)
You should realize that American Jewry is a separate branch of the Eurasian Jewish world with strong Marxist leaning, anti-Israeli policy (T. Friedman, Jstreet, Soros etc.) and it's the strongest supporter of Obamao's radical policy. American Jewish leaders are for open borders, supporting Muslim causes in the USA...they are strongly behind many actions that most Americans oppose. Among them the "Multikultism" "Diversity" Pol.Corr. speech laws are the most salient ones. They still want to "repair the world" which is so beneficial for them in the US.
54. #43. Collapse or not
Tom W ,   USA   (07.25.12)
The EU is an artificial creation like was the Holy Roman Empire. It's a conglomerate of incongruous nations with different development, economies and cultures. Individual nations will collapse within the EU economically unless the German taxpayers bail them out. Spain and Greece comes to mind first. It's a "cracking at the seams" system because of its artificial nature. It won't have any effect on our daily foods, only the very highest political-economic-financial elite will be in turmoil. I am not part of it.
55. Wait until Hezb'allah strikes Europe.
Bad Ased Jew ,   United States   (07.25.12)
or, any one of her 'proxies'.
56. # 7 Syd Chaden Palermo CAlif
Bad Ased Jew ,   United States   (07.25.12)
if it's of any comfort to you, I've heard that Bob Costas NBC sports news caster will give his own moment of silence for the 11 Israeli athletes murdered 40 years ago by the plo on friday evening before the games. G-d bless Bob Costas, he's got some balls. Too bad the European's can always be counted on to the do the wrong thing when it comes to any Jew.
57. #54 tom - wrong
solomon ,   bklyn   (07.25.12)
#54 tom - wrong You note T.Friedman, Jstreet, Soros, etc., and then equate them with American Jewry?! That's like equating those Israelis you find supporting the return of all "Pals" (a la Hamas, the PA) with all Israelis. A fallacy on both counts. Anti-Israel policy?! What of AIPAC? What of the very large sums of money given to Israeli institutions by Americans? What of the strength of the Jewish vote, which many politicians must take into account in their statements about Israel? "American Jewish leaders are for open borders, supporting Muslim causes in the USA...they are strongly behind many actions that most Americans oppose"?! "Among them the "Multikultism" "Diversity" Pol.Corr. speech laws"?! You need to do some serious reading; your post sounds more like an anti-semite’s. "with strong Marxist leaning"?! The US is a democracy, if you haven't heard. US Jews were part of its founding. And many times I hear of Israelis wanting the Israeli political election system to be more like the US. I am not saying it should or shouldn't be. I am saying that your post is so far off the mark that it is ludicrous. Open both your eyes wide. Stop squinting. Don't throw the [very large] baby out with the [very little] bathwater.
58. When you hear something like this from EU Officials
Ali   (07.26.12)
You can easily say that EU is going to be like Muslim countries in no time... Sad...
