it seems that despite the palestinian and arab hoo and whaaa, this man romney KNOWS HIS HISTORY. while the rest of the eu, obamba and the arabs make history up as they go along.
32. PA and its Cesspool of Deceptions
Brod ,   USA   (07.30.12)
The PA is the trouble maker of the world. They are being used by the Islamist-Jihadist crusaders to continue to crusade their Jihadism against the Free people of the world. They continue to deceive the world by playing victim. The fact is they were the occupiers of the Land of Israel. And they continue to dream of occupying the Land of Israel as specified by their Charter, Maps and School Textbooks that call for the destruction of Israel. The fact is Judea and Samaria-Land of Israel is Israel's Historic and Biblical Homeland since ancient time which Israel liberated from the Islamist-Jihadist occupiers in the 20th century. It is time the world stops being fooled by the dark forces. Romney is right to remind the world that Jerusalem is Israel's eternal Capital-City since ancient time. Israel's media does not need to harp on Erekat's occupation crap. Their deception export should stop. Period.
33. Who the hell he thinks he is ?
Gabe ,   Canada   (07.30.12)
Erekat and his band of blood suckers should start to look at their future on the other side of the Jordan River.
34. Notice Pally (and BBC) stance on Jerusalem
William ,   Israel   (07.30.12)
They all claim that Eastern Jerusalem is the capital of a future "Palestinian" State, but they never ever follow that up with "Western Jerusalem will be the capitol of Israel". They dispel any time to Jerusalem by Jews or Israel. Which only leads people to believe - they have no intention in stopping with a couple of neighborhoods of Jerusalem - they want it all - and most specifically, the areas both Christians and Jews find holy. I hear Muhammed's violent supremacist ideology being channeled through Erekat.
35. #8 - "Palestinians" are inherent revisionists
William ,   Israel   (07.30.12)
They also signed the Oslo Accords in 1994 which specifically allow expansion of settlements, and many settlements become part of Israel in any future agreement.... yet today, they claim all of the settlements are an impediment to peace and want them removed (from Jewish land) and 1967 borders....essentially asking the world in supporting their efforts to renege on past agreements and ignore any past promises. It works in an Arab world but not in a global one, as the "Palestinians" are seeing.
36. Terrorist leaders of fictional Palestine object.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.30.12)
The objections of the terrorist leaders of fictional Palestine are worth zero. Jerusalem is the Eternal Capital of Israel. Palestine is forever fictional.
37. #11 - I guess a conga line is in order
William ,   Israel   (07.30.12)
All the "palestinians" can join in, with Erekat at the lead, right back to Jordan and points East.
38.  will not work
sam ,   cairo   (07.30.12)
All of these statements will not work US Jews solidly back Obama
39. #24 - which is a major problem
William ,   Israel   (07.30.12)
because, according to the UN Charter, each country has the right to determine where their capitol will be. And even those who claim E. Jerusalem - land stolen by Jordan and ethnically cleansed of Jews in 1949, a war crime under the Geneva Convention - will be a capitol of the future "Palestinian" State, they DO NOT mention West Jerusalem will be the capitol of Israel. They rarely mention a shared capitol but instead focus on giving "Palestinians" Jewish land which they stole 63 years earlier, especially areas of high importance to both Christians and Jews; and we've already seen how little Arab Muslims value the sites of these two religions. But again - it doesn't matter if all 192 countries are against Israel. The only people that matter is - Israel, and they state, based on Intl Law, morality, and basic historical facts, that Jerusalem is the capitol of Israel.
40. "To all commenters" Harold #24
NudNik69 ,   Displaced by ARABS   (07.30.12)
These issues are just irritations for Israel by morons - there is not a chance in hell that Jerusalem will ever be given to the muslims - except by force...and that wont be happening anytime soon...so stop carrying on like a little schoolgirl Harold and accept Jerusalem is Israel's capital - this silly stuff is just absurd.
41. #38 Not all
Amichai ,   Huntsville, US   (07.30.12)
This US Jew doesn't support Obama. Neither do any of my Christian friends. Leftists (a lot of American Jewry) & atheists will vote for Obama, but given a religious (but not extremist) candidate, Christians will vote for them.
42. Erekat blames everybody but the Arabs
Shmuel ,   Anaheim, CA, USA   (07.30.12)
Erekat blames the huge gap in GDP per capita between Israel and the PA held areas on the"occupation" and claims that attributing this gap to cultural differences is "racist". I guess he forgot to claim "appartheid", "extremism", "settlers" and all other Arab knee-jerk favorites. Well, Saib, know what? Romney is right. Israelis are hard charging people with a culture of initiation, innovation, taking risks and reaping rewards. Do you see any of these traits in your Arabs? Israel is not occupying the PA areas, it allows trade going in and out, lets investments come in. Don't blame your shortcomings on others, you've been doing it forever and it's time to face reality. It's time you took responsibility for your own destiny. One last thing - the PA's 10k GDP per capita is mostly derived from donations from the US, EU, UN, etc. Without these handouts you'll be below Somalia.
43. To: No. 14
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.30.12)
Jordan. All West Bank Arabs have Jordanian citizenship, courtesy of Jordan's 1954 Citizenship Law, which bestowed Jordanian citizenship upon all West Bank Arabs and their progeny irrevocably. The Jordanians have tried quite a few times to rescind that law, but the Court in The Hague has consistently ruled that an irrevocable grant of citizenship is precisely that -- irrevocable. Once Israel fully and formally annexes Judea and Samaria, there is absolutely nothing to stop Israel from repatriating all those Jordanian citizens. Each and every sovereign state has an absolute right to determine who may or may not reside within its borders. The Arabs on the West Bank are NOT stateless refugees; they are Jordanian (despite the fact that they collect millions of dollars annually from the United Nations). Jordan cannot refuse the repatriation of its own citizens.
44. No. 41 Amichai
NYC Girl   (07.30.12)
I'm an atheist and I wouldn't vote for Obama unless somebody pointed a gun at my head and said, "Vote for Obama....or I'll kill you."
45. #17 yes we know
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (07.30.12)
Jericho is part of Israel that illegal Jordanian colonists occupy.
46. #30
Harold ,   USA   (07.30.12)
Building castles in the air means you cannot have foundations underneath it. I am not Saudi but Saudies are more educated that you are. Wise-up and learn more.
47. Erekat's Comment
ltrail ,   United States   (07.30.12)
Erekat said, "It is a racist statement and this man doesn't realize that the Palestinian economy cannot reach its potential because there is an Israeli occupation," The so-called palestinians can't reach their potential because of their own anti-Jew hatred and leaders. Their leaders steal the money and spend it on lavish properties and life styles. Their leaders have caused severe damage to the Palestinian-Jew relationship by their goal to intimidate, kill, and maime Jews by rockets, bombs, and snipers. The Palestinians spend their time and money planning to take over ownership of Samaria and Judea districts which are owned by the State of Israel. Israel regained those districts not by acts of agression against Jordan and Syria, but by defending Israel from those agressors. Those districts were part and parcel of the Jewish homeland for milleniums.
48. Correction for Mr Erekat re per capita
Eli ,   Nahariya, ISRAEL   (07.30.12)
If, in fact, the reason the Palestinian income is $10,000 per capita is because of the "Occupation" why is the per capita of every Arab nation excluding oil revenue the same -- or lower than the Palestinian per capita? The answer of course is a cultural issue.
49. Morally BANKRUPT!
sk ,   USA   (07.30.12)
The "Palestine cause" is morally bankrupt —from the perpetuation of lies, historical revisionism, hatred and killing of innocent civilians and knifing to death of Jewish children. Everybody knows there was never a nation called Palestine. Today's Palestinians 100% Arab, who are simply intruders, nomads, leftovers from failed nations (historical & modern), and squatters who need to move on. Arabs are the biggest problem in the region...they have over 99.97% of Middle East land and 16% of world oil and SHOULD solve this idiotic Pali (Arab) problem but they wont. Why? Because it's not about land ...it's about hatered, super-intolerance for their fellow man, religious bigotry, genocidal proclivities, barbaric teachings taken literally, and judicial logic still stuck in the 7th century.
50. Misuse of the term racism by Palestinians
nigel ,   london   (07.30.12)
Twice in the past week there have been examples of the misuse of the term racism by Palestinians. Firstly, the diabolical suggestion that holding a memorial for the 11 people slaughtered by Palestinian terrorists is racist. And today saying Mitt Romney's comments on GDP is racist. These are not racist sentiments and I think the term is being deliberately abused to detract from truths, It is very easy to call someone a racist and then that person is on the back foot defending themselves.
51. jolly good show #50
embarrassed yank ,   denverhi   (07.30.12)
many of Romney's comments are not racist but just stupid. Ask the Brits about his Olympic comments. They all prove this guy is NOT ready for prime time stage of international politics and maneuvering.
52. Next time Israel send supplies to Gaza
Arlene ,   Israel   (07.30.12)
please dont forget a tons of tissues. Hate to think they use their shirts to dry their tears...never seen such a bunch of boo-hoo'ers. Erekat, you can also use the paper hankies!!!
53. How much realization of "potential" ....
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (07.30.12)
... did the ersatz "Palestinians" demonstrate any time prior to 1967? They wanted autonomy; they have it. There are reasons that they have been unable to attract foreign investment or create jobs and a viable infrastructure, and Israel has nothing to do with it. There is plenty of foreign investment in Israel -- it is not Israel that is the problem. It is the ersatz "Palestinians" who are the problem, not that you will ever get any of that rabble to take responsibility for anything, least of all their actions, all of which have been extraordinarily stupid.
54. Doesn't anyone, including the author, look at the facts?
Ed Stack ,   Boston, USA   (07.30.12)
I challenge the author and every reader to look at the average income per person as reported by Unicef, for Syria, Jordan, Eygypt, and Lebanon. The Palestinians have higher income than the people in any of these countries. Seems like "occupation" has helped the Palestinians to an income levels sometimes 400% higher than their neighbors.
55. #16 until later...
muriel   (07.30.12)
you vote for Romney- you have voted for every candidate before, then when they don't deliver you start your tirades- Romney will no more deliver than all the others before, get used to it- he is just buying your vote.
56. erekat
(07.30.12)
his comment may not be politically correct to you, but it is 100% true and this reality irks you. live with it.
57. Harold #24 WRONG
David N. ,   Haifa, ISRAEL   (07.30.12)
Jerusalem is the capital of Israel, and whatever games are played, it is de facto accepted as Israel's capital. It is both the declared and the functional reality. If some country wants ot say they don't like it, that's one thing. To say that Jerusalem is not our capital--that defies reality. And Mr Mormon has nothing whatsoever to do with it, either. It was our decision, over 3000 years ago.
58. #51
(07.30.12)
obama last year has sent back the bust of churchill that was given as a gift by the queen of england to george bush. he sent it because he claimed that the british empire colonialized kenya at the time and he disagrees with it. how is that not an insult to britain? it is a terrible insult. isn't it? no one exposed this, but most of us knew about it. this obama behavior was an incredible insulting travesty compared to what romney said during the olympics. also, the cnn newsperon, a brit, pierce morgan, said on cnn, "what's the big deal about what romney said? it is not as if the british didn't say the security is horrible for the past month and that it was so horrible that they had to import the army because they had very little policemen available for security". so, what is your answer now???? hameed aboughaze, iranian
59. 55
(07.30.12)
so is obama, dear!
