Wastrels using precious time on frivolous idiocies...pure Bitul Z'man! There are far more important issues to resolve besides tight pants on men.
This reflects rather poorly on the main preoccupations of the so-called haredim rabbinical mucky-mucks or is it ch'raredim (as in Arabic chyt)?

I Never realized the Torah had a "fashion page". I guess it's next to the sports section.

35. Male versus female modesty

The reason we hear more about female modesty is because men have traditionally not worn plunging necklines or mini-trousers or sleeveless suits. Skinny jeans are nor revealing but they do look a bit childish for men over a certain age, unlike traditional jeans. Just by the way, for UK posters, 'pants' means trousers and not what Brits call pants, which American call 'underpants'!

The word gown has a wide range of meanings. I think these rabbis mean gown as in cap and gown at a univerity graduation. Obviously they do not mean La Croix or Saint Laurent -- or heaven forbid Galliano!

I don't know where the Torah specifies gowns for guys, but I do know that Cohens should not be wearing Levis
