61. A intellectually unsustainable argument....
Mikesailor ,   Miami, FL   (08.27.12)
is made by the author of this satirical (at least I hope it is) article. What did he get his PhD in? Underwater basket weaving? Either the West Bank is occupied, or Israel is truly an apartheid state. And the Jews per se have no more right to dominion over the land, and actually far less, than the indigenous Palestinians. The so-called Diaspora after the Roman revolt, did not 'cleanse' the land of Jews. Only the priesthood, some rabbis and the Jewish 'nobility' who took part. The rest of the Jews (Israelites) remained. Some converted to other religions, some bought and sold land, others remained apathetic to whoever ruled over them. Otherwise Jews cannot explain the Palestinian Talmud (not to be confused with the Babylonian) or why Jews in the so-called Diaspora never returned after the Roman 'occupation' ended, instead waiting almost two-thousand years to prosecute this spurious claim. Zionism is merely the pretext for theft, humiliation, brutality and other criminal actions against the indigenous non-Jewish population who lived in harmony with the indigenous Jewish population for millenia.
62. #41 - it's also what an Arab massacre of Jews looked like
William ,   Israel   (08.27.12)
in 1920, 1929, 1036-7, 1947, 1949.... Disarm ALL "Palestinians", abolish all terrorist groups from the region like Hamas, Hizbullah, PLO, Al-Aqsa Brigades, PFLP, Islamic Jihad, etc. End the expired mandate of the PA and give power back to the people, and end foreign instigation by global Leftists and others with an agenda in the region....and that is what possible Statehood and self-determination by "Palestinians" looks like. Until that happens, Israel is not obligated to do anything except protect herself by any means, as granted to her by the UN Charter on State sovereignty and Intl laws.
63. #39 - where's "Palestinian land"?
William ,   Israel   (08.27.12)
I can't find it on a map. I can't find a history of a State called Palestine, a population who ruled it, nor "Palestinian" leaders in history. I can't find borders nor ownership papers by a people called "Palestinians". Only land deeds issued in the Ottoman era and the Ottomans were neither Arab nor "Palestinian". I think the ICJ said it best when Abbas called on them to "investigate Israeli war crimes (but do not look at "Palestinian" crimes) when they responded "There is no State of Palestine recognized by any world State".
64. @ 47 The only truly indigeneous inhabitants
roger ,   zurich switzerland   (08.27.12)
The only beings who have a right to live in the Unholy Land are the animals. They are the true descendants of the original inhabitants. Thier home has been desecrated over and over again by the presence of sick psychotic humans.
65. #59 - "Palestinians" also not mentioned in UNR242
William ,   Israel   (08.27.12)
There's a reason for that.
66. #6-Get educated you racist fool !!
Don Rosenberg ,   Palatine USA   (08.27.12)
Israel is not occupying anyones land. Judea/Samaria were captured in a defensive war, period. Israel should have driven the racist muslims out of this area, like the muslims would have done to us Jews. You swiss should be proud of your racist , nazi affiliation during WW 2. You are a discusting people. Take that Moron !!!!!!!
67. #61 logic is not your long suit
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (08.27.12)
First there is no such thing as the "West Bank". It is Judea or Samaria. It is occupied by illegal Jordanian colonists and the apartheid is 100% by the fascist Arabs. You have 20 million illegals in your country - guess that makes you an apartheid nation. Jews do have more right to dominion over the land - it is international law. The Arabs are neither indigenous or Palestinians. JEWS come from JUDEA. In short you are liar and a racist moron.
68. Palestine no more exists than Oz, Neverland or Narnia.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.28.12)
One can't occupy a fictional land. Judea and Samaria have belonged to Israel for more than 3,500 years. Palestine, on the other hand, has never existed and never will exist. It is no more real than Oz, Neverland, Atlantis or Narnia.

"Isreal does not really control what goes into Gaza..." Give me a break, what kind of alternate reality are you living in my friend?
70. Tom "There is a state of war..."
John Robey ,   Austin, Texas   (08.28.12)
between the Arab world and Israel. Since Israel has signed peace treaties with Egypt the largest part of the population of the "Arab World" it is difficult to see this "state of war" Peace treaty,, signed by your government got it? Not to hard to understand now is it?
71. Consider Scotland..
diaspora ,   Glasgow   (08.28.12)
Scotland, a country that led for union with England over 300 years ago, provided the country's first monarch, and countless prime minister and leaders since - yet for which a not insignificant part still feels occupied by England and begrudges its neighbor. Compare that with the situation in Palestine and it is not so strange - when modern Israel was born off that land so recently, keeps growing and encroaching into the land beyond mandated borders, leaving a land which is - it seems - criss-crossed with checkpoints and walls and illegal settlements, with access to water and resources far worse than in Israel. How else would any people feel but occupied? And that resentment towards the sufferings of daily life in the West Bank and Gaza ends up merging with resentment towards Israel herself is not so strange either. Improve life in the Palestinian areas, share more of the investment and resources, and acceptance of the State of Israel would only improve. Loosen the iron fist. What alternative is there?
