have you been to israel? to the centeral bus station in tel aviv? to the east side of jeruzalem? o one cares about the jewish "normal" people. theres a war between left wingers like you and the orthodox jews. no one conciders the fact that phalestinians are a threat to our country, they repress womens rights and beat up gay people. what is wrong with you to want that for israel? an other religios group being agressive?!
63. Its a tragedy
Tim ,   Brighton   (08.28.12)
Looking at their faces its clear Rachels Parents are still consumed by grief and her death...any you can feel nothing but heartache and sympathy I wish them well and every sympathy for their loss As for who should carry the responsibility for her death....how can it be right, legal or just that Israel carries the responsibility for her death when she had deliberately placed herself in danger in the hope that she could stop the Tanks advance Rather than try to find scapegoats...I hope and pray..that for the sake of Rachels memory the Corrie Family could become a conduit for peace and understanding and bring together all those innocent Israeli and Palestinian families who have suffered death or injury from violence and terrorism Let us try to keep Rachels memory alive.in a positive way...by perhaps a Corrie Foundation that could promote goodwill between Palestinians and Israelis To the Corrie Family: Gd Bless You

How about all the Americans who have died on behalf of Moslems -- in Iraq, in Afghanistan, in Waziristan, in Yemen, in Libya .... Moreover, have you forgotten that the United States Embassy in Teheran (U.S. soil, by the way) was invaded by Iranian students, and hostages were taken and kept in deplorable conditions for over a year? Have you forgotten the film clips of Iranian mullahs kicking and defiling the corpses of the American servicemen who lost their lives in the failed attempt to rescue the hostages? Have you forgotten those rampaging Iranian mobs screaming "Death to America" and burning the American flag? Have you forgotten that Iran considers the United States to be the "Great Satan?" In addition, must I remind you that it was Israel who destroyed the Osirac reactor in Baghdad, much to the dismay of the United States? Of course, around a decade later, Iraq invaded Kuwait and the United States found itself embroiled in the First Gulf War. It would have been quite a different war had Iraq been a nuclear power, wouldn't it? Think of all the American servicemen and women who did NOT come home in body bags thanks to Israel and show a little respect and a great deal of gratitude. One thing you should know about Rachel Corrie -- there are photographs of her burning drawings of the United States flag and, needless to say, the Israeli flag, while dressed in full Moslem female garb. Burning a depiction of the United States flag. Rachel Corrie was not the martyr and saint that everyone has tried to make her out to be. And her parents are not the great "seekers of justice" that they try and make themselves out to be. Rachel was a terrorist sympathizer who actively gave aid and comfort to Hamas -- which the United States considers a terrorist organization. I doubt that you even know htat. And Rachel's parents aren't seeking some sort of an admission of responsibility for the death of their daughter. They are looking for money. A lot of money. Israel is the fourth forum in which they have pursued a lawsuit. The federal district court in Washington ruled against the Corries; the Corries lost on appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit -- considered the most liberal and leftist of the Circuits. The Corries were deemed to have no standing to sue Israel in the Hague, and now they have lost in Israel. That should tell you something, but I suspect that you run high on emotion and somewhat low on intellect. Too bad for you.

Israel has NEVER asked another country to fight for them, Ms Wacki! What American deaths are you referring to? Never has an American soldier died in an Israeli war. Do not continue going through life so ignorant!
66. Did her parents ever warn her of the dangers in a war zone?
PETER SM ,   MELBOURNE AUSTRALIA   (08.28.12)
Try to discourage her from being right in the center.?
67. This time they are right !
bar   (08.28.12)
Isreal is also prone to mistakes ,the tragic Corey story is sad but she should never have been there in a war zone ,no matter how just she thought she was ! Risking your life and ignoring army warnings ?
68. she did here job ? !
bary   (08.28.12)
No she interfered with army action and paid with here life
69. Any thinking person would view this judgement as vile
Nu'man ,   Exeter, UK   (08.28.12)
Rachel Corrie was not 'protecting terrorists' and her death was not 'an accident'. It was deliberate and was meant to send a message to other activists wanting to protect Palestinian lives and property. This was cold blooded murder of an American citizen sanctioned at the highest level. The IDF has once again proven it is morally repugnant
70. #30 Accidents
rachel   (08.28.12)
Breaking and entering into a family home late at night, and holding down 2 small children, and a baby and stabbing them to death, and then shooting and stabbing their parents,is not an accident. That is coldblooded murder. Shooting at passing cars, and walking up to a car,and shooting everyone inside at close range is not a regrettable accident it is coldblooded murder. Walking into a closed military zone in the middle of a war,and standing in front of a bulldozer, is a regrettable accident waiting to happen.

Are you aware that your government has admitted that 2/3s of your drone attacks hit only civilians and not military targets? Are you aware that bombing civilian infrastructure is a war crime and does not constitute enforcing a no-fly zone? And tell me, what is your take on UK hero Daniel Crook?

Andrew ,   Miami,FL   (08.28.12)
She is now the "Martyr" she always wanted to be - the Palis will use her as much as they can. Next time - just pick the girl up and move her - much easier
75. Corrie the Darwin award winner
Katrina Berger ,   Toronto Canada   (08.28.12)
It is unfortunate this woman has been made in some circles a saint. She lived a short life as a pawn in the Muslim world chess game, no real value, but of that of being expendable.
76. #...Come in 69
Tim ,   Brighton   (08.28.12)
Clearly YOU are NOT one of those Thinking People 'Sanctioned at the highest level..are you seriously suggesting this was premeditated..cold blooded - at the highest level'? This occured as Rachel decided to 'make a stand' in front of the Bulldozer to try to stop it...It was clearly risky and dangerous some might call it foolhardy..this was in the midst of a conflict in a conflict zone....and in the midst of the bitter fighting - the risks proved too high As for 'protecting lives and property' thats precisely what the IDF were trying to do...protect Israeli lives and property BOMBARDED ceaselessly and indiscriminately by Hamas missiles from Gaza...Do you think Hamas who triggered this fighting had any concerns about firing hundreds of missiles across the border? And I dont see you writing about that either So 69 I dont need any lessons from you on Morality...but that does not in any diminish what has been a personal tragedy for the Corrie family One hopes that out of this tragedy can come something positive...to make us try to redouble our efforts to force the key players to get together to bring about peace

Get real. Rachel Corrie was not protecting ersatz "Palestinian" lives. Nor was she protecting ersatz "Palestinian" property. She was protecting a sham house built over the terminus of a smuggling tunnel used to bring weapons into Gaza for Hamas to use to murder Jews. Even two United States courts -- the United States District Court in Washington and the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit -- ruled that the evidence that Rachel Corrie was aiding and abetting a terrorist organization was irrefutable. In point of fact, the Opinion (it was unanimous, by the way; there were no dissents) went so far as to state that had Ms. Corrie lived, she would have been subject to prosecution in the United States because the United States considers Hamas to be a terrorist organization. I realize that you are from the United Kingdom, and the U.K. has done quite a job of reinventing and lionizing Ms. Corrie. Before you issue forth on what you consider to be morally repugnant, however, I suggest you read Post No. 7 at this YNet thread: http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4274105,00.html It will give you some insight into the real Rachel Corrie. The morally repugnant one, not the fanciful one created by British writers of fiction.

Then why were they seeking $12 million in punitive damages? Sounds pretty money-grubbing to me. The United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit laid into the Corries for seeking to profit from their daughter's illegal activities. Perhaps that is why they cut their damages demand when they sued in Israel. When they sued in the United States, the Corries were looking for compensatory damages of $10 million, and punitive damages of $125 million. Rachel Corrie aided and abetted terrorists. I have no compassion for terrorists, and I have no compassion for those whose motives have nothing to do with "justice" but, rather, are entirely pecuniary. Do you have compassion for terrorists and those who seek to profit from the death of terrorists? What do you think that says about you?
79. With the comments of the Israel Ambassador for Israel
Sarah B   (08.28.12)
I am hoping that when Netanyahu goes to Washington in September Barak Hussein Obama will return the favour for the lecture he recieved about the greenline. Nothing will please me more than to see Netanyahu's smirk wiped off his face, as he uses the tradesman entrance to the White House.

Are you aware that the Corries lost their case in the United States District Court and, subsequently, lost on appeal in the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit? Are those "kangaroo" (not "banana") courts, too? The Ninth Circuit is known to be the most left-leaning of all the Circuits. I suspect you did not know that. I do have a question for you, however. Turkey claims that the PKK is a terrorist organization. If a foreign citizen is killed by the Turkish military while engaging in efforts to aid and abet the PKK in smuggling arms to use against Turkish civilians -- how would the parents of that foreign citizen fare in the Turkish courts? Would they be awarded $12 million? You and I both know that the Turkish courts wouldn't even hear their case and, even if they did, they wouldn't award so much as one lirasi. So let's have no more pious nonsense out of you.

The correct name of her home town is Olympia, not Olympic, futhermore the State Capital--- Very Liberal population---
82. #69- the house Rachel protected covered smuggling tunnel
William ,   Israel   (08.28.12)
and as such, this home loses its civilian protection status per Intl law. By trying to protect it, Rachel "aided and abetted" terrorism which makes her an unlawful combatant per her own country's position, and she broke US law forbidding their citizens of partaking in such action. As the ISM members admitted then, the IDF ALWAYS stopped for their protest and this was a grave mistake as Rachel slipped and fell down a small hill out of site of the driver. Now, I would hold more credence of the testimonies of them who were there at the time, then you, 8 years later and 3000 miles away. But you are correct - since then, stupid ISM members have kept their distance from tanks, bulldozers and unsafe war zones.

1. Who, pray tell, is the "Israel Ambassador for Israel?" That's a new government post. 2. Sorry to disappoint you, but all heads of state are greeted at the front door of the White House, by the president and, usually, the first lady. Prime Minister Netanyahu will walk on a red carpet especially put down for the purpose from the instant he steps out of his limousine until he sets foot in the White House. 3. I'm sorry that you will be disappointed, but it cannot be helped. By the way, the proper expression is "tradesmen's entrance." I guess you never read any Dickens. I don't suppose you've ever gotten past A. A. Milne! 4. If you were any more dumb, you would need to be watered twice a week. 5. When you've finished your temper tantrum, you may go to bed without any supper, you naughty little imbecile.
84. even during time of war,
observer ,   Egypt   (08.28.12)
a. the international law compels soldiers to take care seeing whether there is any civilian before the bulldozer blade. b. Gaza has been occupied by Israel. c. denial of Israel existence by activists didn't give right for Israel to murder them. Most Moral Army.
85. purity of arms: Bulldozers do kill
observer ,   Egypt   (08.29.12)
using Bulldozers as tools in legitimate resistance hands is considered terror by Israel. Using Bulldozers to murder civilians is considered Moral by the same Israel. Double Standard.
86. Time for racism dear frank?
Yossi ,   Israel   (08.29.12)
You well know that the 'chosen people' is referred to the Jewish people and not to Israelis. I'm not religious, so it means nothing to me. Israelis make many mistakes, but this wasn't one of them. Last, I apologize that me and my family simply want to live... Golda Mayer said once:"we will have peace with the Arabs as soon as they love their children more than they hate us".
