As of this morning, Israel enjoys 74% support among Americans for a pre-emptive strike against Iran. A slightly lower percentage, 66%, support American involvement against Iran. That number grows to 86% should Iran retaliate against Israel by targeting a United States asset. Unlike you, it would appear that most Americans are very well aware of what transpired in Teheran in 1979 and a year later in the failed hostage rescue attempt.

I see you are in Haifa - are you gonna stick around once the missiles start flying or going to run to your home country?

65. US Polls on Strike - Quite Variable
US Listener   (09.06.12)
In response to #61 here, I went back and took a look at various polls within America on a strike against Iran. Incidentally, the figures I quoted earlier (5-15% in favor) come from my own checks on reader responses in major newspapers, like the New York Times and LA Times. Not many readers there are strongly in favor of a strike. I did not find any polls where Americans favored a strike by 75%. One poll gives a favorable rating of 56%, two other polls give favorable ratings of 25% and 35%. A lot depends on how the question is asked. Americans might support a strike IF they were sure that Iran was developing nuclear weapons. But if you read through the responses to major newspapers, it is clear that many people have doubts about the "intel data". I would say that poll results are far from clear ... in terms of whether Americans really want action at this stage. This is an objective comment on my part - no politics involved.
66. Still going it alone

It's far better to act to prevent a nuclear Iran than to try to clean up afterward. Israel must accurately assess the threat and then act commensurately to defend itself. All of Jewish history shows that Israel cannot afford to depend on any other country.

Note that BS from SB in #61 is not unusual...typically bogus "facts" are slipped into the rants. She's very proud of her punctuation, though. So let's request the date and source of this poll, the exact questions asked, the number of people polled with margin of error and the financial backing of the organization involved.

They wonot answer you , the demos are real supporters , the republicans are reliable supporters.
69. Best President for US
RJ Twymon ,   Detroit,USA   (09.09.12)
Romney will be the best President for the USA and Israel, by far! Obama cannot be trusted.
70. no wonder religious Israelis like Romney
isel ,   Oslo, Norway   (09.10.12)
He is just as much a fundamentalist as they are. He is not good for the US with his typically Republican tax breaks for the rich to get the economy rolling again. Yeah, right. Obama will get my voet this time, too.
71. To #3

The biggest treat to the US is Russia and N Korea. So the US citizen should still vote for what good to Israel? Also who will be good for dealing with Iran? Democrat and republican watched as N Korea became nuclear and did nothing, so how can you tell if Obama or Mitt will react? (hope you are not waiting to find the truth from a politician!).
