Here's an easy way to look at this: just like it's ignorant to talk of "all Jews" being a certain way, it's equally ignorant to think of all Muslims/Arabs being a certain way. If you can't think of a stereotype that fits all Jews (who number in the millions), how can there be a stererotype that fits all Arabs/Muslims (who number over a billion?) People who aren't subjected to propaganda learn not to stereotype from an early age. Perhaps one day the propaganda that permeates Israeli society will diminish enough to free those Israelis who are trapped in small, insular minds.

As an Israeli Jew and proud Zionist, I see the cynicism and closed-mindedness of most of these talk backs just regurgitating the usual stereotypical thinking against Arabs as sickening. I work with the Israeli Arab community in Arab towns and it would take about one morning of mingling with Arabs to realize they are no threat to Israel and want to be more integrated if we would give them the chance. Their access to good education has significantly reduced any demographic threat, many live at a higher economic level than large parts of the Jewish community. There are three problems. Firstly the Israeli Jewish public rarely visits an Arab town, and is even frightened of entering, so never gives itself the opportunity to meet Arabs. Secondly the Arab members of the Knesset do an appalling job, just reinforcing the negative stereotypes. And finally the Arab refusal to perform civilian national service is very damaging, although this may be changing.

It is not Arabs that we fear. Coptic Christians are Arabs, Lebanese Christians are Arabs, and many Israelis are Arabs, to cite a few examples. They do not preach the destruction of Israel, death to Jews, death to Christians, death to infidels, while shouting "God is great!". It is Muslims who do that. The corrupt UN, the unprincipled European Union, and the President of the United States, are reluctantly forced to confront terrorist attacks, but they cannot bring themselves to recognize and deal with the Islamic threat, or even to call it what it is.
