31. This American Jew is proud of Israel!! (END)
Rhonda ,   Chicago, USA   (11.01.12)
32. Stupid article
Sam ,   Texas   (11.01.12)
Are Texans ashamed of the Alamo? Are Jews ashamed of Israel? No way, Jose
33. I call BS
Sam ,   Texas   (11.01.12)
end of message
34. During ww2 Jewish refugees were denied entry to the US.
E.M Jordan is Pale S ,   SF   (11.01.12)
And they sent them back to Germany and the FDR was US President.
35. B.S.
GHook93 ,   Chicago   (11.01.12)
US Jews support and admire Israelis bravery and conviction. Their heroism against the barbaric Islamist! US Jews are getting sick and tired of LIBERAL Jews that seem to think it's more important to protect Muslims than the 2nd best country in the world!
36. Liberal U.S. Jews are in hospice
Abbushuki ,   Shmini Atzeres, KY   (11.01.12)
Those who do not put Israel first in their vote typically do not,on average, have more than 2 children. The U.S. average for liberal Jewjsh women is less than one child. 50% are intermarrying and divorcing. Many marry late. Add in infertility and gays and you will soon notice that those under 21 are fewer than the numbers of their grandparents who are dying out. On top of all that, they are Jewishly illiterate: almost none get a post puberty Jewish education. It's very simple: Liberals discarded the one thing common with all life: 'Pru Ur'vu' propagate and Jewishly educate. We have but one more generation to suffer the J Street outrage. Like a cut flower, their philosophy will be history in a generation.
37. i'm proud to be a jew and proud of Israel !

My mother was harassed daily as a child growing up in an upstate NY town. I went to a Jewish sleep away camp in upstate NY (near Red-hook), where we experienced attacks by locals. Even though I grew up in an affluent 'Jewish' neighborhood on Long Island, these events shaped me as a young adult, and so I left America to live in Israel. BTW, I see very little difference in American foreign policy towards Irael from administration to administration.
39. Listen lemmings
Miche Norman ,   Hod Hasharon   (11.01.12)
As usual our resident lemmings do not want to listen to any criticism - preferring to drown it out as they bray - traitors - leftists - self-hating Jews - anything other than listening. If our fellow Jews do not like us - can you imagine what the non-Jews feel? - Is it too hard to se that we are losing our friends and that it does matter? With the Ayatollah Yosef insulting us and American Jews almost daily - can yuou not see that we are alienating people ? Israel is not the country it once was - there is something ugly going on as our social fabric breaks down and a lack of respect for other people's views becomes standard. There is much that we have to be proud of - but we also have to change the areas where we should be ashamed.,
40. Professional Jews
Robert H. ,   NYC   (11.01.12)
As an American Jew, I would be careful about listening to advice fom establishment Jewish leaders with close ties to an administration that is openly hostile to Israel while appeasing it's enemies. During the late 1930's Rabbi Stephen Wise, another professional Jew who worked closely with FDR, dismissed early reports of Nazi plans to enihilate European Jewry and opposed any intervention on the part of the US to save them.
41. when they are targeted as in France, perhaps they''ll get a
shneerhere ,   usa   (11.01.12)
Perhaps they'll get a clue and start voting with Israel in mind! Don't know their history, how can they fathom Jewish destiny? A spiritually vacant generation.
42. More ashamed means more votes for democrats
mick ,   USA   (11.01.12)
If they were more ashamed they would increase their votes for democrats because they are the anti Israel party. More support for republicans means more zionism, not less.
43. American Jews vote for American good
Margie in Tel Aviv   (11.01.12)
but they expect Israelis to behave in a way that reflects glory on American Jews. Israelis are exposed to the physical dangers that the American policies neglect to notice
44. My cousin showed up in Israel for the first time in his life
Noodles ,   Coney Island   (11.01.12)
last week, and although not overly political, he was clearly impressed, and enjoying himself.
45. No. 24 JGrosman
NYC Girl   (11.01.12)
While you're correct in general, you might be surprised to find that there are quite a few American Jews who are atheists and agnostics, but are also committed to Israel's survival and are willing to cross the line as registered Democrats to vote against Barack Obama....in large part because of his antipathy toward Israel.
46. I only vote israel if I have to
Ghilmeini ,   Usa   (11.01.12)
With few exceptions, Carter in 80 and Obama now, was my vote centered on Israel. If it is a question of israel's survival, then I vote for Israel. I will never vote for a candidate that I don't trust with israel's safety. Obama cannot be trusted.
47. @25 Obama's pastor makes you proud to be American?
rebecca ,   modiin   (11.01.12)
48. @39 Our fellow Jews do NOT hate us.
rebecca ,   modiin   (11.01.12)
they might have different opinions to some of us, but then so do you, and you claim to live here. Or they're just into Jewish Guilt, G-d forbid Jews should succeed and stand out, in which case they tend to hate themselves more than they hate us.
49. #25 & shas...
yosef ,   williamsburg US   (11.01.12)
I am not zionist and do not agree with a lot of Rabbi Ovadia's edicts but if you are ovbservant at all you might want to be more respectful... he is still a great Talmid Chacham!
50. Wired
Sol   (11.01.12)
In the times of the old German Reich, Jews tried to be more german than the germans. We all know the outcoming. Is it really necessary to get thst far that american jews remember who protects them in any case?
51. Of course the US Jews vote in line for Israel
Josh   (11.01.12)
This article is covering up the truth. Israel is a hub for Jewish investment and is by all means a goal of American Jews to promote Israels success. Huge amounts of charity are pumped through the veins of the community and channeled to Israel. so yes, American and Worldwide Jewish communities support Israel regardless of the embarrassment and gulf of morality and social values.
52. #12, Absolutely right! That picture is worth 1000 words.
Jake   (11.01.12)
53. correction: US JEWS ARE NOT ASHAMED OF ISRAEL - BUT OF BIBI
Rafi ,   US   (11.01.12)
including his demagouery, lies and childish stunts at the UN and during meetings with Obama .
54. #39. Miche:I the lemming respond
Tom W ,   USA   (11.01.12)
American leftist Jews are the reincarnation of the "Yevsektsiya" (Jewish section of the Communist party, Russia, 1917). They considered Zionism as "bourgeois nationalism" and strongly opposed it. Instead they conjured up a "global socialist" world - like the leftists Jews do in the U.S. today. Countless Jews who populate Israel today had first hand experiences with the "Wonders of socialist paradise" in their old "homeland". For ultra rich Hollywood plutocrats and other billionaires like Soros "leftism" is a mental hobby: preaching socialism for you and harvesting Wall St. $$ for themselves. Got it? None of the Jstreet leftist wants to pick tomatoes in a greenhouse in the Negev. Hence our differences.
55. CORRECTION: US JEWS ASHAMED OF NETANYAHU, NOT ISRAEL
Rafi ,   US   (11.01.12)
Bibi is a profligate liar and demagogue who is embarassing to not only Diaspora Jews but also to Israelis. Talkbackers here can rant all they wish - but the data is overwhelming and Kurtzer is spot on. solution: Get rid of Bibi and the situation will dramatically improve. By the way, this is the 3rd time this post has been submitted!
56. So Kurtzer want us to believe
Ivor Evenbiggergun   (11.01.12)
that Netanyahu's personal efforts to influence the elections in the United States was done for the good of his health? There ius a reason why AIPAC is so powerful on the hill, and that is because they can delvier a large block of votes. Fortunately with the rise of the Hispanic and AfroAmerican population the influence of the Jewish vote has declined. Seeme to be a repositioning in an attempt for the AIPAC to maintain their declining influence. Afterall they will take credit if Romney gets in, and claim credit if Obama gets in.
57. I am a liberal ethnic Jew
David Israel ,   New York, USA   (11.01.12)
I am a liberal ethnic Jew and I am a proud supporter of the state of Israel.
58. #56, Ivor: What are you talking about?
Tom W ,   USA   (11.01.12)
American Jews ARE in Obamao's (your deity) pocket. All the 78%. Only blacks adore him more: up to 99%. Read the last election result. A reminder for you: the Jewish vote is too small to matter but their money worth 100 times more than their vote. And all their money is the Kenyan's coterie pocket. Don't complain: American Jews love you and your comrades.
59. U.S. Jews are where French Jews were 20 years ago.
Chaim ,   Israel   (11.01.12)
American Jews are where French Jews were 20 years ago. Twenty years ago, French Jews said Jew hatred wasn't a problem and they would stay in France forever. Today they are fleeing. The same thing will happen in America. Moslems are also increasing in America. The trends are all the same.
60. American Antisemitism to pilots
Nehama ,   Jerusalem   (11.01.12)
I agree with many points in article but disagree that there was no American Antisemitism. My father in law was bomber pilot in ww2 and after war had hope to be airplane pilot for regular airline. He was turned down and told Jews not wanted. The 1950's were not good to Jews.It crushed his dreams and affected him his whole life.
