61. Jeiwsh State or State of the Jews?
Noah Lev ,   LosAngelesUSA   (11.16.12)
Those who advocate Orthodoxy in lieu of other streams are very foolish if not dangerous.W/O US Reform support, Israel is no where. I guess the Orthodox will accept our money (gelt) but not us. I am a Conservative Jew..and believe Reform too far left but Orthodox, ancient, and frankly too ritualistic for my taste. (Most Moses laws are irrelevant and ambiguous). There is a certain amout of perfidy also ( See Jack Abramoff and rabbis who sell kidneys). Its about a belief in G-d and concepts. Its not whats on ones head but what is in it. Not about praying but behaving. We, under the skin are all Jewish, if chose to, or have a Jewish mother. Its that simple, with 13m in our people, why so discriminating? Yes, what are the Ortho afraid of? W;O secualar Israel to protect them, where would they go, to Poland, Russia, Germany, Yemen, Monsey, Argentina? And who benefits from this disunity...you guessed it, Assad, Abbas, and Ahmad. Hez, Hamas, Al Qaeda, the Taliban, Rev Guards, DFLP and PFLP are laughing in their beers while they fire Fajrs into Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, if not Sderot. Get it.We will all live together or die together, Our choice.
62. #57, please save your gospel for a more gullible crowd
Jake ,   USA   (11.16.12)
63. #59, have your read the story of Korach?
Jake ,   USA   (11.16.12)
There were many Jews excluded due to their lack of faith in God and his Prophet Moshe. We are not advocating Sinat Hinam. We are merely opining that the Reform philosophy is antithetical to our 3000 year old set of religious beliefs, and that they do not deserve a say in religious matters. No hatred, just opinions.
64. #57
iselin ,   Oslo, Norway   (11.16.12)
You expect thinking individuals to believe your gibberish. Puhlease, not this one, but many do, which amazes me. Your rant shows that Jesus has had the best publicity machine of all time. And he had no idea what the word marketing meant. All of your words leave secular humanists dumbfounded. Why do we have brains? To weed out the silly mumbojumbo spouted in the name of religion.
65. What are Ortodox Jews afraid of? Reform is not Judaism
jacob wapinski ,   Monterrey Mexico   (11.17.12)
Sinat Achim( Hating of your fellowman) by exclusion of the Other, in not following the pursuit of Tzedek (Justice). This unreasonable behaviour is not exhibited by Reform and Conservative Jews.
66. Who is and isn't a Jew?
Sean ,   Montréal, Québec   (11.18.12)
Such questions find their root in insecurity. Someone here postulated that Reform is not Judaism. They claimed one cannot have a religion and change the laws to one's liking. And is, Thou shall not kill, a law? This sounds eerily of who is and isn't a patriotic German.
67. What are Jews afraid of?
Charles ,   Jacksonville   (11.18.12)
I disagree with the Rabbi on what occurs in the U.S. We get along in the U. S., but, we disagree that keeps us apart. The Orthodox considers Reform Judaism a religion of convenience the does not adhere to Jewish laws and teachings. The Reform considers the Orthodox as too strict. The question that needs to be asked is "What defines a Jew". One thing that characterizes Reform Jews in the U.S. is that the are politically liberal and vote Democrat, hence most of them supported Obama. Because of Reforms liberal views of Judaism they vote for wolf in sheep clothing. They are so easily swayed because they lack an understanding of Jewish history
68. What is the subject? I don't get it!
Ephraim ,   Jerusalem   (11.18.12)
Nice waste of our time (and his). The writer does not mention one thing in this article that specifies his complaints. What is he talking about? Women at the Kotel? Conversions? Kashrut? I don't even know what this article is about.
69. government is the real problem
Yosef ,   Jerusalem   (11.25.12)
Israel is a little like Europe; there is a law for everything. If the less religious Jews pushed towards less laws, there would probably be less religious laws too. At the same time though, there is little future in the liberal movements. Seriously, of the percentage who shows up at their synagogues who actually believes in or understands their dogma. I've talked with their leadership, they have no influence. If you want to look at their true leaders see people like Sandler, Adam.
