31. Yes #17 you and a lot of misguided Americans feel that way
tzila ,   Modiin, Israel   (12.03.12)
But please understand, Israel has and is providing a lot of the technologies that are developing those Asian economies, i.e. the "Jewish Brain" so to speak. Which means that companies in those countries utilizing our technologies to keep people working. And not to mention Israel is the side that has bent over backwards in desparate attempts to make peace, misguidedly, with an entity that seeks our destruction.
32. Keeping the dream
Ron ,   Melbourne, Australia   (12.03.12)
It is amazing how one can characterize a regime which to its own people - i.e. not for the media and Jstreet consumption has constant stream of anti-semitism, clearly articulating that the 2 state solution is 2 Arab states, teaching kids at school to hate Jews, support suicide bombers, etc, etc - this is so well document, so easy to see - even the leaks from the PA on AL Jazeera show that the right of return is a game - the Abbas media gimmick relating to himself is denied internally ,etc, etc. OK you make 2 state solution and the people on the other side have been trained to hate - what happens the day after ?? How come Jstreet thinks that a piece of paper is all that is needed. If they were genuine they would look at ALL THE OBSTACLES - one of them which is plain to see is that institutions under ABBAS control and belonging to Fatah make antisemitic, death cult propaganda each and every day. So maybe Abbas does not mean it, however, when it goes to the vote or when youngster take their post - what then - does the piece of paper mean anything ?. that fact that Fatah never reciended their charter as required by Oslo - again nothing , does not matter, they do not really believe in it any more - REALLY ?? so they TV program, books, web sites ,etc are all just for show? We know what will happen the months and years later - we have seen it with Hamas - but for Jstreet all this does not matter.
33. Obamma isaid "I AM ONE" - Islamist remember??
Zob ,   Ashqelon, Israel USA   (12.03.12)
What a pathetic nauseating Con job & countless lies he utters, we have to see before our eyes. A "new beginning" in Ciaro? You mean His islamist wolvehood AKA brotherhood savages, like we all here in Israel are too familiar with. And his shill hillary with bribe to abbas. A true back stabbing emeny of Israel. Two american abominations waving their mocking insults of a False Peace, decieving themselves only. We see plainly what a lie everything they say & do has turned into consessions to those whom position rockets at us. They fill the devils roll well!
34. The man lives in cloud cuckoo land!
Jenny Bee ,   Tel Aviv   (12.03.12)
American 'superpower' is no longer a 'superpower' in the region and has NO decisive role in preserving regional order. And how different is Fatah from Hamas? Did Mr Ben Ami have earplugs in his ears when Abbas addressed the UN with his hate filled speech or his pronouncement yesterday that Jerusalem is the eternal capital of Palestine? Give us a break! Please give your lofty advice to the Palestinians, the Syrians, the Egyptians, the Tunisians, the Lebanese, the Jordanians and of course the Iranians. And all those other stable entities in the neighbourhood. We here in Israel are living the problems not sprouting empty 'solutions' from a comfortable armchair.
35. We wouldn't be in the mess we're in
AB ,   TheRock   (12.03.12)
If the americans hadn't forced us go give up Gaza. That is precisely their plan. That we be in a position where we would need them. We were fools to fall for it.
36. Let Obama lead the way?? Is this guy serious ?
trump   (12.03.12)
37. What these talkbacks show...
TaylorT ,   Earth   (12.03.12)
....is the reason Israel is doomed. The US is the only nation that consistently stands by Israel, and what to ynet talkbackers do? Whine and complain about the US! You couldn't make this up! Losing support of the US would be an existential threat to Israel and some here are doing everything they can to lose US support! All I have to say is...KEEP IT UP! The sooner you get you comeuppance, the better.
38. The Onion
Paul ,   Vancouver, Canada   (12.03.12)
This piece belongs on The Onion for two reasons: It's funny It's absurd Obama lead? Buah ha ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaaaa.....
39. Ynet censorship at it again
Tom W ,   USA   (12.03.12)
Factual information - published by the WashPost - on the collusion between Soros and Jstreet is deleted from the forum. Even Jeremy Ben Amy own words is too "harmful" too the censors. Amazing.
40. #37. Taylor: we're against the 3%-ers
Tom W ,   USA   (12.03.12)
Obama won by mere 3% (51%-48% +-) so a large segment of the Americans do not support Obama pro-Islamist policy. Weren't for the pro-Israeli legislature, Obama would have thrown Israel under the bus with the help of the self-haters like Soros.
41. #19.Sy: There are data on the money out there
Tom W ,   USA   (12.03.12)
WashPost printed a detailed account on the Jstreet-Soros financial collusion but Ynet deleted my post with the URL.
42. #37 TT, Correct, and the right wing ought to be ignored.
Michael ,   C   (12.03.12)
J-Street are a voice of reason and what they advocate makes a lot of sense. They provide the much desired counterbalance to the one-sided AIPAC in America. The influence of J-Street is growing and that's a positive development. Ynet is to be praised for printing Mr. Ben-Ami's column. It is well known that the middle of the road people will not usually write a talkback comment. Right wingers write and are consistently wrong. But it is them who convinced Netanyahu to stop searching for a peaceful solution to the Middle East conflict. It is them who threaten the only viable solution to the conflict, the initial multiple states solution. I agree with you and the writer that settling the Israeli - Palestinian conflict should be a higher than heretofore priority to the U.S. administration. The U.S. should ignore the pathetic Israeli right wingers and focus on resumption of direct talks under the US supervision. Except that this time a clear warning should be given to both sides: arrive at the solution independently or watch the Great Powers along with the UN enforce a solution. This protracted conflict must end and Obama's administration can bring it about.
43. To No. 37
Bertram ,   London, UK   (12.03.12)
Sadly, there is much in what you say. For all its bluster Israel has long since ceased to be the biblical David. I remember the Six-Day War and the near universal support that was garnered for Israel. It has since wasted its political and diplomatic capital. The 'Arab Spring', however cynically it may be viewed, has posed a real danger for Israel, a country that seems to be mired in its own self-satisfied, unchanging complacency. If , through following the PA gains at the UN , Israel allows the withering of the alliance with the US, no-one should be shocked. The future looks extremely depressing since if talkbackers mistakenly think Israel has always had to rely on its own resources they ain't seen nothing yet.
44. Leftists and Obama
Brod ,   USA   (12.04.12)
Obama is NOT king of Israel. Pagans should stop peddling Obama. The Land of Israel belongs to Israel since ancient time. The dark forces have NO right usurping the Land of Israel from the Jews-Children of Israel.
45. Good intentions??? to #14
lidia ,   Rishon Lezion   (12.04.12)
Whose good intentions? Obama's? Congratulations on your message. It's only our strength and union that will lead the way.
46. Let Obma lead the way
Harold ,   USA   (12.04.12)
I never heard these words when Romney was running to beat Obama. Netanyahu was welcoming, discussing, donating money and feeding Romney. I don't believe it.
47. Obama
Beloved ,   USA   (12.09.12)
will only make things worse. Let him focus on trying to help businesses create jobs in America. That should be his priority. Direct talks are meaningless with an enemy who wants every inch of Israel in Palestinian hands.
48. JStreet
Beloved ,   USA   (12.09.12)
is sincerely wrong. Blaming Israel and the Jewish people or pointing them to a glitzy politician will not help them. Showing courage, standing up against terror, continuing to do good to the enemy --especially the children---whenever possible, and trusting G-d will.
