31. To No. 29
Bertram ,   London, UK   (02.24.13)
If there was a Nobel Prize for sophistry you would win it hands down i.e. erecting arguments on the basis of fallacious premises and assertions. Entering a mosque 'beseeching "dialogue"'? Agreed. The 'dialogue' initiated by Baruch Goldstein didn't go down too well. The author of this article has more understanding of dialogue in his little finger than you have in your entire brain. I have engaged with religious and secular Jews, Muslims from different backgrounds, Arabs, Christians, Germans, French, Mexicans, Americans, Africans .....etc. Guess what? They are all different - and the differences cut across ethnicity, religion, geographical origin. You do not represent either the US or Israel, in the same way that I do not represent the UK or Diaspora Jewry. And your continual 'self-hating Jew' mantra? Speak for yourself. You constantly attempt to project your fears onto others. If in my rejection of your world view I am considered naive then so be it. I would sooner live and die with my optimism than your vision of absolute victory - or the apocalypse. So, as for losing respect for me, yours is a club which, if it would have me as a member, I would have no inclination to join.
32. Moderate Muslim flying pigs?
BUILD BABY BUILD ,   United States   (02.24.13)
sounds lie a new Iranian Aircraft. Or, "Pigs in Space.' "Moderate Muslim' is an oxymoron.
33. # 13 Bertie don't you have some stones to throw?
BUILD BABY BUILD ,   United States   (02.24.13)
or some welfare payment to collect? Please defend terrorists and leave the brains of Sarah alone. Al Jazeera down the hall on the far left. Their the ones who threw the party for the man who murdered a young girl.

Like someone smarter than I once said, "Kill 'em all and let G-d sort them out."
36. ONE ISLAM.
SJOERD VAN DER VELDE ,   HOORN NH, HOLLAND   (02.24.13)
THERE IS ONY 1 ISLAM, WITH ONE EXPLANATION WHAT ISLAM IS ALL ABOUT. MANKIND CAN BETTER DO WITHOUT IT. ON RELIGIOUS LEVEL THERE STILL STAYS ENOUGH TO CHOOSE IN FREEDOM/LIBERTY, TO BELIEVE IN, ON EARTH AND HEAVEN.
37. # 31 Talk to the animals
BUILD BABY BUILD ,   United States   (02.24.13)
Bertie You must have like Groucho Marx as you quoted him. Too bad you lack the brains to go with your mindless BS. Most here agree with Sarah B and rightfully so. As for 'talks' with the pals, how's that going for ya? Some people talk to themselves too, doesn't mean their going to get answers. Stay in London, Israel and we are happy to see you live off their welfare system and not Israel's. LOL
38. Embrace moderate Muslim leaders
George Weiss ,   Teaneck, USA   (02.24.13)
I think the author is too optimistic and I would proceed with caution. I also wander why the Moslem leaders never condemn terrorist attacks (such as that in Burgas). Could it be that hey are only interested in preserving Moslem rituals in the face of resistance by secularists in Europe and are looking for allies?.
39. Not a new argument. Not even a new article.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (02.24.13)
It seems I read this same article by Schneier, or one with the same thesis, right here a few months ago. That one even included the same false claim that a letter by 25 French and American Muslim leaders lead to the release of Gilad Shalit. Nonsense. it was Israel's agreement to release over 1,000 convicted prisoners, many with "blood on their hands", that finalized the deal. One can always find a modest number of Muslim leaders who actually respect and support Jews (like Palazzi in Italy) or can at least mouth the right words to win credibility from people like Schneier. But what do the majority of Muslims - leaders and laymen - actually believe and strive for? I'm reminded of plans for a "national" rally of American Muslims a year or so after 9/11 to demonstrate their opposition to terror and support for the US. About a hundred people showed up. Meanwhile, a survey of US mosques shows the majority evince sympathies for terrorism and hostility to US values, as demonstrated by their teachings and the literature they actively distribute. And surveys of Muslim communities in the UK, Egypt, the PA, Jordan, Pakistan and Indonesia show widespread hostility toward Christians and Jews, the US and Israel, and support for violence "in defense of Islam" and the rule of sharia.
40. #31 it must be nice
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (02.24.13)
To be able to name every single Jew accused of terrorism in a single paragraph. That should tell you something if you had a brain. Hell we can't name the Muslim terrorists in a single week on a dozen pages.
41. To Mr's Sarah B
Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (02.25.13)
I agree with you about Islamic radicalism, not only toward Israel, but against Democracy and human rights as a whole. But there were, and there are, some moderates, including the ones who consider themselves Israelis, and fight into IDF's ranks; and others around the world. Although a minority, they can't be disregarded.
