31. The only true reason for Israel's survival:
Taz Man ,   USA   (03.23.13)
It is because of God's faithfulness to His Word and to the Patriarchs' of Israel, and nothing more--period! Israel and Jerusalem are eternal because God says so! If anyone can't see the hand of God's providence in His dealings with this tiny nation called Israel, they are truly godless heathens--period! As God's Word intimates: ALL those who come against His people and land...will be cut to pieces! God bless Israel and His Jerusalem!!! A Christian Zionist

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.23.13)
Of course it will be Israel who makes the decisions. That was the whole point of my post. I am not concerned, either. Israel has flouted the wishes of the United States before (hell, we're still here, aren't we?) and we will do it again, if need be. I'm not concerned.
33. obummah is wrong. arobs will never give piece.they will harm
Moshe ,   Usa   (03.23.13)
Israel in every other way they can, even at the risk of death for their own children. their children will be a bad influence on yours, and you will be hard pressed & stressed to straighten out your children so they will have a chance at a good life. and the arobs do not pay taxes. So do whatever you can to send arobs out of your country. let temporary migrants help do the physical labor, but they & their descendants can not be citizens. And this will make more economic arob unemployment & help push arobs out.

Well, apart from the fact that you are wrong about security needs -- and that there is no reason that a country should have to live with constant defensive concerns -- the State of Israel is not going to evict 500,000 Jews. Concentrate on that, oh monumentally stupid one. Contemplate this: give them Judea and Samaria today .... and what's to keep them from demanding Jaffa, Haifa and Akko tomorrow? Do you really think that they will settle for less, or consider their battle "won" for anything less? You're a fool.

Fortunately for me, I am not married to a knuckle-dragger such as yourself, so divorce is not an issue in my marriage. Feel free to avoid reading my posts. I suspect the intellectual content is somewhat -- no, considerably -- beyond your ken, in any event. Keep those knuckles bandaged, Jerry boy. You wouldn't want to run them over one of those broken beer bottles in your living room.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.23.13)
Because living alongside Gaza has worked oh-so-well, eh? Do you think that the ersatz "Palestinians" in Judea and Samaria feel any differently? Do you really think that they are interested in peaceful coexistence with Israel? More fool you. They are interested exclusively in supplanting Israel. Make no mistake about that. They'd have repudiated their charters years ago if peaceful coexistence were their aim. To date, all they are expressly interested in doing is achieving the destruction of the State of Israel and the extermination and/or expulsion of the Jewish people. Some of us are determined to avoid that. What a shame that you are not numbered among us. You'd have made the perfect concentration camp kapo, Bertram. Does that make you proud? it shouldn't.
37. Advanced senility
Yoel Larry ,   New York USA   (03.23.13)
Is Mr Perez the man who helped enslave the Jewish State to that self destructive obsession known as 'Land for (A) Piece (of Paper)!' Go to bed old man.
38. #12. Right is infallibly correct on every major issue.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.23.13)
#12 Jump Off The Balcony. The Israeli Right has been completely correct about every single major issue since Israel was founded: from the Oslo Disaster, to Disengagement, to freeing terrorists...to everything.
39. #16. The truth is obvious to any literate child.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.23.13)
It is obvious to any literate child, capable of reading a map, that Judea and Samaria make Israel viable. Israel's legal ownership of Judea and Samaria has been incontrovertibly proven by countless international law experts. Jump Off the Balcony if you wish but the vast sane Israeli majority are not going down with you.

Bertram ,   London, UK   (03.23.13)
I hope, by the same token, that you also advocate tearing up the treaties with Egypt and Jordan. I mean, they are Arabs and surely they must also want "...the extermination and/or expulsion of the Jewish people..". If you don't, then maybe you would make " ... the perfect concentration camp kapo...". You are in a hole. Please keep digging.
41. To No.39
Bertram ,   London, UK   (03.23.13)
Two points: 1. Can any small country simply grab some adjacent land to make it 'viable'? 2. In the case of a country there is no such notion as 'legal ownership' of land. All nation-states occupy land as a consequence of conflict, war and violence. Any chance of a response, Chaim?
42. Respond to #32
Joe Mevorah ,   Lincoln, U.S.A.   (03.23.13)
That's nice. Congratulations, you have become more popular than the articles which are written in this newspaper. As much as I love Israel, and what it stands for, I do not like the way you perceive Israel. Your way, or the highway. Keep up the good work. Aharonot loves you.
43. Israel decided in 1992 ;land for peace' and PA and hamas
bob k ,   orlando usa   (03.24.13)
blew up the 'peace process in 2000 till now with suicide bombings and drive-by shootings etc killing over 1100 Israelis mostly civilians. Israel decided and offered the PA the territory it claims , including east Jerusalem, minus settlement blocs and the PA has consisitently refused. The reason being that the PA does not want a peace agreement with Israel which could officially end the conflict. The PA wants the conflict to continue while having a state granted by the UN since it cannot be gotten by force. Mr. Pinkas knows this but ignores what Israel has offered even whilke he was our consul in NY. Obama of course ignores what Israel has offered - he thinks that since Israel is the stronger party it should simply keep on offereing more. Israelis see this and remembering the PA terror reject Obama's nonsense. Pinkas is right though about an eventual US withdrawal of interest in the M/E. We should be prepared for this.

46. To: No. 40
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.24.13)
Treaties are irrelevant. Do you happen to remember one called the Munich Pact? For that matter, I can list hundreds of treaties that were entered into between the United States and assorted native American peoples, all of which were unilaterally abrogated when it suited the United States. I do not think that Morsi is interested in preserving a treaty with the State of Israel over the long term, and I do not think that Jordan's current government can be sustained. So, who's to say what comes next, and do you think Israel should go back to being a tiny State, nine miles wide, with the host of enemies arrayed against her who really do not want a Jewish state in land which they incorrectly perceive to be theirs? Keep digging your hole a little deeper. You'll reach China in no time at all.
47. Bertram # 26
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (03.24.13)
The comparison Sarah made is perfect. Both the Nazis and the ersatz Palestinians want to destroy the Jews. The Pals have refused a state several times because they don't want a state, they only want to destroy Israel. Sarah understands and you don't.

"...and do you think Israel should go back to being a tiny State, nine miles wide...?" Oh, no - you have joined Chaim! Not that you don't agree with him. It's simply that you have abandoned all pretense to any argument. I used to enjoy your intricate sophistry.
51. To No. 46
Bertram ,   London, UK   (03.24.13)
Right. No treaties then. No international relations. Hobbes' 'war of all against all' ending in life being 'nasty, brutish and short'. Your apocalyptic vision will then be fulfilled.
52. Bertram # 49
Eaglebeak ,   Left Coast, USA   (03.24.13)
I trivialize nothing. Much of the Muslim world would do the same thing as Hitler if they had the opportunity. You have proven once again that you really don't understand. The Pals have inept leadership and are a backward inept people. In that respect they are unlike the Nazis but in their hearts they are much the same.
53. #34 Calling people names will not change the truth Sarah B
On the Balcony ,   Akko   (03.24.13)
Our security concerns are obviously more immediate and serious but the reality of Islamic terrorism requires that most advanced countries live with constant security concerns Rightly or wrongly, many countries believe that Israel’s illegal settlements are a primary reason for the threats to their own people. The only way to disprove this is to deal with the settlements and Palestinian State through peace negotiations. There will be no need for the State of Israel to forcefully evict all of the settlers. Some settlers will leave of their own accord once peace negotiations begin in earnest, some will leave if compensation is provided, some settlements likely will be ceded to Israel proper, some settlers may be willing and allowed to stay as Palestinian citizens, and the rest will meet the same fate as the Sinai and Gaza settlers. On the bright side, once a peace treaty is made Israel will have more international support and flexibility in dealing with terrorism than we do now.
54. To N 46, Mr's Sarah B.
Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (03.24.13)
You are right, Mr's Sarah B. Israel must never be endangered. Out of it, no agreement can be done. But treaties are not irrelevant, except for dictatorships, or imperialist nations. Israel is a Democracy, ruled by Law. Her roots are humanistic. While Egypt upholds Camp David's duties, despite of Morsi's bad thoughts, and while Jordan keeps that was signed by Hussein and Rabin, Israel can not disregard or attack them. The best forces are the moral ones.
55. $500 million wasted
Justin ,   NC, USA   (03.24.13)
How do you think this reverberates with the Israeli people? I'd say they have about as much disgust as any sensible American citizen who doesn't have the Liberal wool pulled over their eyes: http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4360135,00.html
56. Ridiculous
David ,   Fairfax VA   (03.24.13)
Obama thinks the Israeli state will eventually dissolve, and should because it is basically a vestige of colonialism. He maintains the delusion that if Israel accomodates the Arabs, they will relent in seeking to destroy it. Obama sees himself, much as most of the Left does, and more evolved, enlightened. He graces us with his presence, and sees himself as the uniquely annointed transitional figure. It's all part of a comical fraud. Obama is simply a run-of-the-mill 60s style leftist.
57. #56 David: Your judgement is correct
Tom W ,   USA   (03.24.13)
Most people don't have the faintest idea about political philosophy, its history and its current direction. All the more so because Westerners (I am Eastern Eu.) are subject to Pol.Corr. brainwashing, self-mind control and they unable to think independently from the "progressive", leftist line. The Western officially accepted policy is "Cultural Marxism" that is, identity politics, multicultism, secularism, anti-nationalism and hatred of Judeo-Christian heritage. You correctly described Obama mindset and his self aggrandizing tendencies: his second election victory solidified his belief in his messianic mission. Your analysis is right on.

Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (03.25.13)
Judea and Samaria are nonsovereign territories reacquired by Israel in the course of fighting a DEFENSIVE war against Jordan. The territories are thus Israel's to settle, retain and even annex. That is black-letter international law, and all the anti-Semitic rantings of so-called "experts" won't change that. The best part is that upon annexation, Israel will repatriate the Arab population of Judea and Samaria to Jordan, country of their citizenship. That, too, is black-letter international law. All sovereign states have the absolute right to determine which aliens may and may not live within its borders. The Arabs of Judea and Samaria have spent a very long time making themselves undesirable. It's time for you to stop perching on the balcony. Come on in and smell the coffee. You cannot make peace with people bent on your destruction. YOU CANNOT MAKE PEACE WITH PEOPLE BENT ON YOUR DESTRUCTION. Get it?
59. #52. "Palestinians" like Nazis must be totally defeated.
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.25.13)
Jump Off The Balcony, your "analysis" is profoundly flawed. First of all, leftists are mostly hostile to Israel. On the other hand, hundreds of millions of Fundamentalist Christians and political conservatives revere Israel. Israel doesn't need the good wishes of destructive leftists. Secondly, Israel's legal ownership of Judea and Samaria is incontrovertible. The evidence is more than strong enough to convince any person of good will. We don't need to waste time debating racists and evil people. "Peace talks with Palestinians" are no different than had the Allies chosen peace talks with Hitler. "Paestinians" like Nazis must be totally defeated.

Truth hurts, doesn't it, Bertie boy? But there is no reason for you to resort to a complete non sequitur simply because I posed very serious questions to which you have no answers. Keep digging. Another mile or so, and you'll emerge in Beijing!
