You can point fingers all you like and try to outrun or rewrite history. But the bottom line is that the majority of death camps, concentration camps and ghettos were built in Poland. Three million Jewish Polish citizens were murdered in their own country. They were handed over to the Germans. The Poles stood by as innocent men, women and children were beaten, tortured, starved, shot, raped and burned alive outside their doors. Some righteous Poles risked their lives to save Jews but the majority did nothing or were complicite in the death of their neighbors. After their murder, the Polish government confiscated Jewish property and to this day, refuses to return it to the rightful Jewish owners. You walk down your streets and know there are homes that once belonged to murdered Jews. You walk into people's homes and wonder if the possessions in these homes once belonged to Jewish neighbors and you enter antique stores and can imagine these items were stolen from a population that not too long ago owned them. From a cross cultural standpoint, the soul is not at rest until there is a proper burial. Your entire country is a graveyard for Jews who were murdered in the most violent and brutal manner. This is your legacy and from your writings, it clearly haunts you.
