61. Reply#59: Silly Willy and the ICJ
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (04.24.13)
You wrote: “Only the ICJ made a ruling on the matter, and it did so under the narrow perspective and hyperbole in the requesting document which already labeled the settlements illegal. “ Nonsense. The ICJ explicitly bases its finding upon the Geneva Convention’s “travaux preparatories” (explanatory working papers created while the convention was being written), on interpretations of the Convention agreed upon by the High Contracting Parties, and on the norms established by the overwhelming majority of the world’s nations, as evidenced by, inter alia: ---Other Nation’s independent legal determinations that the settlements violate international law (e.g., U.S.); ---General Assembly resolutions condemning the settlements for over forty years; ---ICRC’s condemnation of the settlements as a violation of human rights under GC; ---UN Security Council Resolution 465 unanimously condemning the settlements as a “flagrant” breach of the Geneva Convention You wrote: “The ICJ ruling is, and always will be, non-binding and with it, nothing more than an amorphous guidance.” That’s really silly Willy. There is nothing amorphous about a decision in which even the dissenters agree that Israel’s settlements are illegal. It is a certainty that the International Criminal Court will take its guidance from the ICJ. Are you waiting for Israel and our leadership to be internationally humiliated and sanctioned as “war criminals” before you accept the turth? Will that be enough or will you, like all fanatical “true believers” continue to deny the legitimacy of any opinion or reality but your own? The settlements are illegal. It’s not my opinion. It’s a legal fact.
62. Correction in article

Not a "Jewish gunman" who shot and killed 29 Palestinians in Hebron, but a "Jewish terrorist."
