Britain prevented Jews from reaching Palestine AFTER WW2. During the war few Jews were able to get out; most went to the closest countries, such as Sweden. The Brits, after much pressure, formed units of Jewish soldiers. Many future Haganah members had wartime experience because of it. Get your facts straight.

63. UK and Israeli Govt
Joseph ,   London England   (04.25.13)
Britain certainly made some grave mistakes in the 1940's and no one would deny that, but it is also clear that in recent time the British and Israeli governments have worked well together. PM Margaret Thatcher was a genuine friend of Israel and PM Tony Blair has worked hard to improve the PA economy in its move towards statehood. Of the 27 EU states the UK tends to be one of the most sympathetic to Israel, possibly because of its own IRA difficulties.

I corrected "facts" that were not true. I made no comment about the others. Yet you tell me to get my facts straight without specifics? What have I said that was false? Or can't you prove your point?

68. Terrorists?
Paddy ,   Dublin, Ireland   (05.04.13)
@19 Typical of the British to label everyone ho fought a liberation struggle against the British as terrorists. The Irgun and Lehi were freedom fighters. Long live Israel!
69. British Backstabs America too
(02.19.14)
Remember that the British stabbed America in the back and spit on the families of the victims of the bombing of Pan Am 103 when Britain released the convicted bomber - and was rewarded with contracts to drill for oil (BP) in Libyna.
