31. Let's hope that Kerry is more successful
On the Balcony ,   Akko/NY/Kyiv   (07.01.13)
the next time around but it's a shame that the PA has to be bribed and Israel threatened (and/or visa-versa) in order for either of them to come to the table and do what they both know must be done.
32. Laughable.Can't even start talks let alone solve core issues
Sam ,   Canada   (07.01.13)
Doesn't say much about the abilities of the people involved. What are they getting paid for?

Unome ,   Eternalcity   (07.01.13)
Rest in Peace Shimon Peres, you have tried, now you will see The Hand of Jahovah on this land. "Sh'ma Yisrael Yahuwa Eloheinu Yahuwa Ehad", "It is Time", "The HOUR", my Time.
37. If only we flapped our arms fast enough the problem of human
tom ,   tel aviv   (07.01.13)
flying would be solved in a second. For some reason tough, we stubbornly refuse do do so!
38. Fegelein! Fegelein! Fegelein!
Az   (07.01.13)
Suppose you successfully make a two-state "solution" happen. What will be the cost, economic and otherwise, when you eventually have to reneg on that deal? Answer: much more, in the long run, than thinking outside the box now and coming to a more thoughtful decision. There really isn't any alternative to a one-state solution. This two-state stuff is either stalling tactics or divide/conquer. Get thinking! If forced to choose between democracy and those costs, democracy is a price worth paying. Some things are not democratic in their nature.
39. Peres is becoming....
Dan ,   USA   (07.01.13)
Israel's Jimmy Carter.
40. #9 Jordan administers areas A & B.
Rau   (07.01.13)
and Israel grabs area C. You can't think of anything else except land theft.
41. Reality
Joe Mevorah ,   Lincoln, USA   (07.01.13)
Once again Peres proves the age old saying of being a legend in his own mind. He must believe that destiny has chosen him to bring peace to this problem. Therefore, he possesses all the classic signs of an egomaniac.
42. Short memories.
Gabe ,   Canada   (07.01.13)
How about the Fatah Charter ? Hamas in Jerusalem ? Which palestine ? Abbas ?
43. THOU SHALL NOT CALL A 3-STATE AS A 2-STATE.
BUTSeriously ,   Sydney   (07.01.13)

Alex22 ,   USA   (07.01.13)
Peres Go fishing...! Please !!
45. two states???
JGrosman ,   Houston   (07.01.13)
There is already talk about taking Gaza back and he wants to give them land closer to Jerusalem? Is he a complete idiot? The Arabs said the first thing they will do is expel all Jews from the land. He is an old man that has lost his mind.
46. What ever happen to : ?
Galut ia ,   Selah   (07.01.13)
Joel 3:2 (which is 4:2 in the Hebrew Bible)
47. Comments here are an apawling disgrace.
David Clarke ,   Liverpool, England   (07.01.13)
Some of the comments about President Peres on this talkback are nothing short of disgusting and are quite frankly an obscene disagrace, even if you disagree with his politics this man has served and built up his country his entire life in a variety of capacities and roles for which he deserves the recognition he gets, even now he continues to be the voice of reason the world looks for in Israel against those dragging Israel into a Bi-National State and the end of Zionism, he is a great Jewish and Israeli patriot and does not care about lectures from boorish hate filled racist individuals expressing filthy diatribes from their laptops, individuals whose Ideology is closer to Xenephobia, Apartheid and Nazism than the true authentic and moral Zionism that Peres stands for and has always stood for, he is a light unto the nations, unlike the individuals on here insulting him, who quite frankly are the lowest form of human detreitus.
48. In a 'relatively short period of time' right Mr.Perez, like
Moshe ,   Usa   (07.01.13)
7 1/2 decades ?
49. #31. Israel knows we must reject Two State Final Solution..
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.01.13)
#31. Israel must do what we know must be done. We must categorically reject the monstrously evil Two State Final Solution and claim Judea and Samaria forever. But that is obvious to any literate child, who can read a map.
50. It's nonsense to capitulate, not to remove the threat is mad
Kerwood Derby ,   Frostbite Falls   (07.01.13)
When will those who serve the people stop ordering those who are sworn to protect the people from destroying those they serve??Instead it makes perfect sense for who serve the people to instead of ordering the destruction of the people they serve in the land of their own name, to instead order those that are sworn to protect the people of the land of their own name and enforce the right of return of the genocidal, mass-murdering extortionists back to the homicidal, Hamite peninsular homeland of their own name. That would be humane so you won't have to kill them when they can't control their homicidal impulses and come to kill you again. Then there will be peace in your land and the same would be true from the Atlantic, through the Mahgrehb, Mitzrayim, the Levant, Hauran and Bavel if they too would instill some self-identity in the mad asses of men and reunite them in the Arabian peninsula.
51. It is simple: When one of the parties refuse to achieve...
Jehudah Ben-Israel ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (07.01.13)
...an accommodation of peaceful coexistence - note, CO-EXISTENCE!! - there is simply no way to achieve peace. The Arabs - the Muslim-Arabs, not the Christian-Arabs or the Druse-Arabs, mind you!! - haven't yet accepted Israel's RIGHT to be, to exist as the sovereign nation-state of the Jewish people, let alone living peacefully alongside it. When the Muslim-Arabs come to terms with Israel's RIGHT then and only then will peace could be ushered, but sadly, not before!!
52. To No 9 and those that think autonomy is the answer
Liron ,   Zichron, israel   (07.01.13)
Recall that autonomy means that they control education and local affairs but those in the autonomous region still vote for the govt at large; in other words for the Knesset. (And those advocating a solution with Jordan. I say best of luck. The kingdom does not want them).
53. Peres is just playing after his 90th party
norbus ,   Jerusalem   (07.01.13)
I have no doubt he means well, but his judgement has weakened. Better World is just one case to illustrate bad judgement. Only one way forward. Annex C, and get on with life
54. Nr 26.
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (07.01.13)
Peres has failed all his policy in his political Career as hithereto. Even if he got his Political wishes fullfilled, HASHEM will contradict Him and His Fullfilled Wishes will also Fail. Arn.Sweden.
55. "Not that big"? Who is he kidding?
Larry ,   Or Yehuda   (07.01.13)
They want our land which does not belong to them under ANY law, except Sharia. Who is Kerry negotiating with Abbas? He has no voice among what is called the Palestinians. May I remind all that after the San Remo conference in 1920, Jordan was created for the Arab palestinians, so there is already a 2-state solution.
56. Why are most Israelis so delusional?
spyguy ,   Seattle   (07.01.13)
The basic facts are (1) Israel is actually a small powerless country (2) over 98% of the other countries on earth disagree with Israel (3) if the US hadn't protected Israel for the last 60+ years, it would have been long gone (4) The US will NOT protect Israel forever. The US will someday throw Israel overboard (5) the non-Jews west of the Jordan River are NOT going anywhere and will either have to have their own state or become citizens of Israel (6) the current situation is NOT sustainable (7) Jordan will NOT help Israel with its problems, no matter how much Israel threatens. (8) Peres is 100% correct that Israel will have to give up lots of land, water, cash for compensation and apologies for all they have done to the Arabs for the last 60+ years or the nation (but NOT the Jews) will disappear form earth. There is zero chance the Israeli delusions can survive.
57. how about 2 presidents ?
ecr   (07.01.13)
and one of them gets lost ,that's you-Shimon !
58. #33 - Israeli 2
Devorah   (07.01.13)
I sent you a response, but Ynet did not post it. Maybe that's because it was all in Hebrew. Anyway, thank you, and bless you, too, Israeli 2.
59. Go crazy!!!
Roman   (07.01.13)
President while God is King? Why can’t Peres do the right thing to resign and tell Kerry to negotiate with God Himself because He is listening? Better go crazy if the world thinks there is no God.
60. John Kerry
Yaakov ,   England   (07.01.13)
He is trying to make peace with himself, but does not understand Torah. There is no immediate solution to the Israel/Arab problem. HaShem will eventually decide.
