61. (58) Walid.
tiki ,   belgium   (07.09.13)
Walid, debate is good, but debate without substance or false merit is useless. Thank you for your 'observation that the majority of Arabs no longer talks about 'throwing the Jews into the sea. You're right, with the weapons of today that's not necessary. By the way, where did you get your 'precise info from? We also listen to Arab Media outlets and most of us get a completely different picture. Your ''prediction of the future of Israel are as ridiculous as those from the writer, Mr. Haber. Here are my predictions: Nobody knows what the future will bring, because if you wan't to make G-d laugh, tell him about it and most of those living in the big Ghetto believe that G-d tells them to be strong, prepare for the worst and hope for the best!
62. World-wide problem
Shachar ,   Eilat   (07.09.13)
Anywhere you just keep on growing as if the world is an infinitely sized breadbasket, you are going to run into serious problems and that includes Israel which is already densily populated. Everybody needs to learn to stop growing or face the dire consequences. Feeding starving masses is the worst possible thing to do. It just encourages more unsustainable population growth. Trim down or starve are the only two options that should be on the table.
63. #58 walid - the devil is in the details
solomon ,   bklyn   (07.09.13)
The Arab League's so-called peace proposal was admitted by Saudi Arabia to be a suggestion; they could not dictate what arab states decide, and each would decide on its own what to do, AFTER Israel gave them everything they wanted. Peace proposal? Yea, right. Open your eyes, as we have done. Go speak to the Egyptians (or the arab countries in general) and let us know what we already know. It's their turn to show "confidence-building measures".
64. haber is delusional
tom ,   toronto, canada   (07.09.13)
the one thing that haber doesn't understand is the arabs. egypt gets $3 billion a year from america, and unlike israel, it couldn't survive without this american aid. but does this aid produce the slightest expression of gratitude? no. the arabs hate america even more. why? because accepting assistance is "humiliating", and only arouses murderous rage. president obama has made dialogue with the moslem world a priority of his presidency. has this made obama better loved than his predecessor, george bush? no. because it makes him seem weak, and the arabs despise weakness. haber's plan would work splendidly, if onlyhe could turn those 100 million egyptians into "normal" people, who repay kindness with kindness, and friendship with friendship. if only...
65. Do not challenge the use of the dollar fake worthless money.
JMK ,   NYC   (07.09.13)
Any challenge to the dollar as the world' medium of exchange will be destroyed by the CIA.
66. The left is waking up - but still wrong
Gee ,   Zikron Yaakov   (07.09.13)
For the last 2 years I said that this was going to happen. Egypt, Syria, Libya, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia all must import the majority of their food. Libya and Saudi Arabia can afford it. The rest cannot. They do not the money or energy to do so. They are going to make Somalia look stable. Our best bet - wait it out. When those three countries are reduced to single clan city-states only then will there be any stability. Our helping or anybody in the West will make it worse and more prolonged
67. To N 15, Chaim
Luiz F Haddad ,   Niteroi, Brazil   (07.10.13)
International Law must be respected, my brother. Camp David's Treaty is not a piece of paper. Israel is a decent and democratic State, and for it, she has been admired by me and many others around the world. While Egyptian forces don't attack, IDF will not be legitimated to cross Sinai's frontier. Moral strength is more important than any other. Warm Salutes.

Ya right, keep singing the same song over and over again and when the arabs overtake Israel you'll be the first one to dance and hand out sweets in the street.Forget about it,the more babies the bigger the bombs you'll never learn.
69. #67. Retaking Sinai is rectifying a huge mistake.
Chaim ,   Israel   (07.10.13)
It was a huge mistake for Israel to cede the Sinai in the first place. Israel would be incomparably safer and stronger had we retained the Sinai. Moreover, as the victor in a defensive war, Israel had every right to keep the Sinai. Like every Israeli retreat, Israel's Sinai retreat was an unmitigated disaster. Retaking the Sinai is simply rectifying a huge mistake.
70. Israel has no problems itself?
joel ,   ossining, ny   (07.11.13)
Glad to hear that tiny Israel has solved all of its own problems - adequate housing, shortgage of doctors, inequality of income, large percentage of the population that does not bother to work, peace with the Palestinian, etc, etc, etc,. that it now has the time and resources to tackle the internal problems of Egypt! I guess the writter really believe that the Jews control the fate of the world!
