31. Pinny - Are you sure you are a Jew?
Debbie ,   Israel   (07.10.13)
Some how i don't think so - a real Jew wouldn't say the things you say. As for your Rabbis I just want to cry when I think of the pain they bring on to the Jewish People and The land of Israel.
32. #17 here's your answer (see BaMidbar* 1:2-4)
Jew ,   JewLandia (Israel)   (07.10.13)
“Take a census of all the congregation of the people of Israel, by clans, by fathers' houses, according to the number of names, every male, head by head. From twenty years old and upward, all in Israel who are able to go to war, you and Aaron shall list them, company by company. And there shall be with you a man from each tribe, each man being the head of the house of his fathers." *The Book of Bamidbar= The Book of Numbers
33. #29 You probably meant tzaddikim
Pinny   (07.10.13)
like Piron and Lipman. You're right, they're imposters. How about going to some real tzaddikim and discuss the situation with them? They'll explain it to you in your language. Chardakim with their tame uniform in the midst of charedi neighborhoods are similar to what Rashi (end of Ki Tetze) explains about Amalek who were the first to fight against the Jewish people after they left Egypt when the whole world was afraid of the Jews, Amalek demonstrated to the world that one can fight the Jews. Rashi compares the chutzpah of Amalek to a case where everyone is scared to enter a boiling hot bathtub. If a "bliyaal" (a worthless person) jumps into this hot tub, even though he gets burned he cools it off for others. This is whom Rashi calls a "bliyaal". These chardakim are like those bliyaals...
34. From all of my previous comments
Dror ,   Haifa, Israel   (07.10.13)
People know that I am a faithful believer and a strong supporter of Jewish Tradition and of the Jewish State, but these sad miserable throw backs to eastern europe are making me sick. Let Haredi men that want to serve their country in uniform serve with pride. The ultra orthodox primitives will have to get used to it. I remind you again that eastern europe and all of the memories from the galut should be archived and then forgotten. You want to live in this country YOU MUST BE A PART OF HER DEFENSE otherwise you have not earned the right to live here.
35. What would Moses Have done or said?
Galut ia ,   Selah   (07.10.13)
A good question for the ultra-Orthodox to consider....it is time for them to join in the battle for the Land that their forefathers were given via covenant between Abraham and God...any thing short of that is rebellion against God
36. it's all because of wow
(07.10.13)
37. Haredim
Ronnie Winch ,   Palm Springs Ca.   (07.10.13)
If you cant save, can't defend your country then how come you are battling the police in your own country. These Haredim should be marched, not to court but to an army induction centre. Shame on them!
38. who said they have one?
@#1   (07.10.13)
39. #34 let me remind you
Pinny   (07.10.13)
Charedim were in Israel 100s of years before the Zionist who just arrived in the 1940s. If the Zionists want to stay in the Jewish country they should behave like their Jewish forefathers or go back to Europe or Russia where they came from or go to Uganda as per the wishes of their mentor Herzl. This is a Jewish state as you yourself admit, so make sure it is so. If the Zionists want to live in this country they must be part of the true defense by learning Torah not by destroying Torah and destroying religious Jews. You and others, instead of being proud of your Jewish heritage, are scared to tell the galut mentality seculars that they're wrong with their actions against G-d and His Torah. The results of the education of the Zionists are proof of their failure, while the Eastern European Jews look how they're blossoming. That's what Lapid and his comrades are jealous of and that’s why they want to secularize them by forcing them as soldiers.
40. They are not Jews, just from some judaic sect
Yossef   (07.10.13)
I am a Jew since generations and generations from Spain, North Africa and certainly ancient Israel. These people do not represent nothing in which I put myself some value, jewish value. They are just a sect, another jewish sect but never represent the main stream of what does mean to be a jew.
41. #25 Brian Cohen
Fortune ,   Flatbush Brooklyn   (07.10.13)
I totally am against what was done to the Religious soldier from the Haredim in Jerusalem. However, do not say he should move to FLATBUSH, Brooklyn...We live in Flatbush in a majority of SEPARDIM and mostly SYRIAN neighborhood. The HAREDIM or ASHKENAZIM are in WILLIAMSBURG or BORO PARK...Our men are NOT BLACK HAT wearers and we LADIES wear SCARVES NOT WIGS>>>>>
42. shamefull people
Kevin ,   Tel Aviv Israel   (07.10.13)
Why is it that the people who clams to be the most religious are the least Why is it that the least religious
43. #32 Jew
DavidR ,   USA   (07.10.13)
Thank you for your answer to #17. For some reason every time I quote Torah my post never gets released. I wish people would read for themselves. For some reason the Haredim seem to think they are above all other Jews. They are not Cohen and I doubt that many of them are Levites. Even if they were they are not exempt from defending Eretz Israel. These are nothing more than the Pharisees of old who think they are more holy than anyone else.
44. Rabbis condemnation
Sharon ,   Phoenix USA   (07.10.13)
So, some rabbis condemned these actions. That condemnation is false unless they actually require the community to turn the offenders over to the police for proper, legal procedures. Anyone can talk, especially rabbis. Can they actually do what's right? Will they? I'm not placing any money on.
45. How is the IDF going to blend the Ultra Orthodox into the
Rivkah   (07.10.13)
ranks? Perhaps the Ultra Orthodox who hate the IDF should migrate to NYC or Dallas or Los Angeles and leave Israel.
46. Enemies of Judaism.
Ira ,   Ra'anana   (07.10.13)
The actions of these people must be crushed and punished with extreme acts. These are traitors in out midst. Also, anyone who calls our soldiers nazis should be jailed immediately and given time to reflect on his or her diseased minds. That this comes from a parasitic element in society that has never shown and interest in the common good is all the more disturbing. They never had the betzeem to talk to goyim like this. Shame on them, and shame on us if we ignore them.
47. #35 Im not Haredi but,
TzVi   (07.10.13)
Goining the I.D.F. doesn't mean fighting for the land of Israel. Not anymore at least. At some instances it even means joining those who fight against Am Yisrael and against the land of israel. IDF is just a tool, has to be in the right hands.
48. these criminals must be locked up and their rabbis punished
Cipora Julianna Kohn   (07.10.13)
these people who are attacking jewish soldiers of the jewish state must be prosecuted to the full extant of the law and punished. their rabbis must also be punished for incitement to violence and assault. the jewish state cannot tolerate that people engage in physical assault in the name of religion.
49. Arrest all haredi lawbreakers as all citizens alike
(07.10.13)
Ascertain their guilt or innocence and place them behind bars with stiff sentences. The law is the law and so they should be treated equally like or no differently to palestinian lawbreakers who attack soldiers. In fact Netanyahu may like to consider offering them Abbas as a carrot to restart palestinian /israeli peace negotiations. It clear that both share the same political views and the animosity to the IDF.
50. As a father of a frum IDF soldier in the tank corps I am
Al   (07.10.13)
outraged. Words cannot convey my utter disgust and disdain for these menuval tinif. I was raised orthodox, today the orthoquack disgust me to the core of my being. Where are the parents of all the frum soldiers? Why are they not screaming out to the so called Rabbis to stop the incitement against our hero soldiers? The same soldiers who eat little and who risk their lives everyday protecting the Jews of Israel from annihilation. I am disturbed by the lack of response of the parents of the haredi soldiers. When I speak to my son who I haven't seen in years I cry and ask him to listen to his commanders and to be prudent in his duties. I beseech him to do his work diligently and with pride. Where are the parents of the frum soldiers? Speak out against the menuval Rebbes who are nothing more than tinif. They don't deserve the respect you afford them for they show precious little respect for those who protect them. The ones who protect them are your own sons...speak up!
51. Chilul Hashem Disgraceful Behavior
Dina ,   USA   (07.10.13)
52. Even the Arabs are not such traitors
Dan   (07.10.13)
Quite a few Israeli Arabs choose to join the army, but there is no record of their being attacked by their fellow Arabs for doing so. But Haredim, who live off the state like parasites, actually attack those who would do their duty! They are enemies of the state and should be treated as such: obey the law or leave the country.
53. @number 3
(07.10.13)
shame on what u just said now... i once was on the bus 1 in mea shearim with my boyfriend and we both had the uniform and because of these people we had to feel ashamed... we risk our lives also for them and because of them we had to look at the floor all the time... thats not judaism what they follow is a strange mix of what their ancestors followed in east europe or whatever they were
54. 39
Cipora Julianna Kohn   (07.10.13)
the naturai karta and their ilk did not create the jewish zionist state. they lived under the suzerainty of the ottomans and the arabs and were at their mercy. they were expelled, as in the sixteenth century, when 15,000 jews were expelled from jerusalem by the ottomans.
55. Don't understand can you explain to me
Sara taher ,   Doha Qatar   (07.10.13)
I simply read this article and don't understand what happened I mean why they attacked him And what does it mean ultra orthox and hardeim why do they hate each other Thanks
56. When do we Jews learn to live in PEACE with each other?
Asher ,   NY,USA   (07.10.13)
Here is Tisha B"AV and still we are fighting among each other?! Isn't enough for us? Unity is the ONLY answer..We have to learn to live and accept and LOVE every fellow Jew, Stop Hatred God doesn't need your love and care in expense of crashing another Jew. DOSE HE?
57. S. Judah 24
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.10.13)
Are all the charedi rioters NK extremists ? If the other charedi oppose this , why didn't they intervene ? Mea Shearim have many non NK inhabitants , not only NK , where were they to defend this soldier ? No , i think it's the mainstream charedi who are responsible for this .
58. G-d must be really sad
Ilana   (07.10.13)
It is hard to believe that people who believe in G-d and Judaism can be so violent and attempt to kill by lynch. SO disgusting and sad. Such hatred.
59. Hareidi assault on chayal
Alon ,   Bet Shemesh   (07.10.13)
Where is the hypocritical left? Why are they not calling for these attacks to be treated as terrorism, which is exactly what it is? Where are the proposals for this to be a "hate crime"? Guess things only cut one way, huh.
60. Pinny # 3
Yerach ,   Jerusalem,Israel   (07.10.13)
Perhaps the fanatics attacking a relgious Jewish soldier should move back to Hungary where their ancestors came from? If they hate Israel so much let them go to to Williamsburg,Montreal,London,Antwerp or Budapest but stop harassing Jews who are loyal to their country. BTW,I am a Chareidi with a long beard & both of my sons served in the IDF with my brocha & haskoma. It is a mitzvah to defend Jewish lives & this what these brave soldiers are doing!!!!
