31. @24 really not even during the wild & crazy 1960s?
(07.31.13)
get over yourself...I am old enough to have seen people in the reflecting pool near the Washington monument skinny dipping back in the 1960s during anti-Vietnam protests. Today no one would go into that pool because it is a smelly dirty swamp! The American government DOES NOT take care of it. To go into that pool now would result in serious illness. You know deadly serious illness like the ones you mention all the time in your silly ranting posts. and for the record there is separation of religion and state in the United States so please do take your annoying blather about 9/11 elsewhere. You are insulting the memory of those murdered there.
32. Disrespectful but not desecration
Israel   (07.31.13)
They caused no harm to the memorial so the word desecration is being misused here I think.
33. Look at another paper
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.31.13)
Israel national news , a religious paper , also talks about charedim . Shas leader Eli Ishay condemns this too , in the same page .
34. Parents attitude is wrong.
jrebecca ,   modiin   (07.31.13)
It was hot, and the kids were playing in water. That happens everywhere in Israel. But the parents, Hardie or otherwise, have the wrong attitude. They could have been nicer. On the other hand, who builds a pool as a memorial in Israel, where water is scarce, and knowing it would be used like this some time.
35. We can do whatever we want?
Danny ,   London England   (07.31.13)
Sounds like WoW who believe they are free to do whatever, wherever, however, whenever! The London monument to Princess Diana also includes water, and children play in it as she would have wanted. A crash site is obviously different, but for young children on a hot day the water must be tempting. Their parents should know better.
36. look at follow up story
Divisiveness   (07.31.13)
Look at the follow up story. No mention of Chareidim. They must have realized the original story was biased. I wish they would issue an apology.
37. we all know what happens when the
Benjy   (07.31.13)
yeshivas go on vacation.....They drive without acknowledging others, that drive all year are also on the roads.....(no stop sign in the Torah, so why stop!). The fact is they stop anywhere. They feel everything is theirs and there for them, including invalid parking. They park and get out of their cars with all their a kids and if you tell them anything, they look at you as if you are from a different planet. Hope they get tickets!! Whoever they are in the picture may G-d forgive them and I feel folks like this are the great UNWORTHY, heridim or not.
38. Another "incident" in Beth Shemesh
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.31.13)
Reshet beth reported that a charedi man harassed a woman who didn't want to sit in the back of the bus . Police intervened . Stones were thrown by charedim to another bus . Nice "people" ? And they dare to claim that they have "higher standards" ! Where are the charedi rebbanim to condemn this behaviour ?
39. don't look haredi to me
karen ,   uk   (07.31.13)
Im not haredi but would not expect a hateful family to allow their kids to take off their shirts like that
40. secular kids at yad vashem
karen ,   uk   (07.31.13)
I saw a group of secular kids being very disrespectful at yad vashem holocaust museam while their teachers just watched.. but that wouldn't make headlines, would it?
41. what's wrong with this author!?!?
Emunadate   (07.31.13)
It's so obvious that these kids are not religious and she should correct this immediately. The author is a slanderer and should stop causing a rift between the religious and non religious!!
42. 41 look at my #33
Charles ,   Petach Tikva   (07.31.13)
43. Haredi Families'behaviour at Monument to fallen Soldiers.
John Cohen ,   Raánana   (08.01.13)
No. 2 is probably one of the family. Now we know why, generally, the Haredim are despised. The pity is, that not ALL Haredim behave inthis fashion. Many serve in the IDF.The two familieswho behved in this fashion are the lowest of the low , and certainly uneducated when it come to being a decent human being, something that Judaism teaches as a basic fact!
44. #3 and #36 are right. it's not chareidim
moshe greenfield ,   israel   (08.01.13)
when they realized it's not chareidim, aside from an apology that does nothing... why arent they blaming the sect that did this "desecration" anyway, of course it's not a chareidi guy, he said he pays taxes. lol
45. To 4
Sam ,   Belgium   (08.01.13)
They don't look at all haredie
46. #4
Zvika ,   Jerusalem   (08.02.13)
Hey Dan, I was just wondering if you have the same attitude toward Arabs. Can you tolerate the troublemakers among them, do you want to investigate their culture, question their attitudes, etc. Do you want to make them change too? I hope you realize that your statement, "This cannot be tolerated in a democratic society," is a total contradiction. Do you even know what democracy means?
47. #11 Arielush
HH ,   usa   (08.02.13)
Wow, so if they come and spend some money at the various "tzimmers," hostels, and recreation spots in the Golan, that's no good either. Check with your nearest economist if consumer spending helps drive the economy. Whatever the hareidim do -- they're wrong! Right?
