I support you.

All of you folks criticizing Eisner for losing his temper have just played right into the hands of those who manipulate the press to further their political agenda. You saw a 10-second clip and you think you know what happened there. You have no idea what occurred prior to the clip. If you did, and you thought for just a second about how you would have reacted, you would realize that Eisner behaved with relative restraint and that the protester got off easy.
34. Only Praise for Col. Eisner

Free speech and demonstrations meant to provoke soldiers maintaining the peace are not an absolute right. Protesters who insert themselves as advocates for the Palestinians are simply trying to destroy the Jewish state by creating incidents meant to portray the IDF in a negative light. Left wing political correctness does not afford these trespassers any special rights or privileges. Foreign Palestinian advocates should be rounded up and expelled. Their conduct would not be tolerated in any other country. There is a big difference between being on the front line where these confrontations occur and sitting in a sterile courtroom analyzing the Eisner incident as an academic exercise. Kudos to Lt. Col. Eisner. He protected the state while the establishment puts its head under the pillow.

The anti-war protesters in or going to Syria are protesting against the West and therefore get a free pass from Syria. Why weren't they protesting against Syria and the rebels while 100,000 people were being killed? Most likely because they would have been dead within minutes of the start of their protests, if not before.

Thank you for your post. You wrote exactly what I was thinking. Lt. Col. Eisner: THANK YOU FOR DEFENDING ISRAEL. Your punishment is harsher than your deed. Those so called "peace activist" should all be deported to Gaza, Lybia, Jordan, Syria, Egypt, Iran and anywhere else they will find a sympatetic ear. I hope G-d will strike hard each and everyone of them soon. Not good to say that between Rosh Hashana & Yom Kippour but these morons (the activists) push my buttons to no end!

38. video in older article shows activist stepping towards...
מקס פדרמן ,   Texas   (09.09.13)
look at the video posted with the first article of this story. You will see that the Dane steps toward Eisner in a threatening manner. There was no reason or "protest" value in stepping towards the soldiers other than to act threateningly to provoke a response. And they got their response on film to use against us. I see why they post this version instead; because it does not include the graphics added by the arab propagandists that use words like "occupation forces brutally attack..." from what I can see Eisner's only fault was striking him with the magazine rather than the butt of the rifle; which could have damaged the mechanism.

Benny ,   Iran   (09.09.13)
The Danish idiot & his terrorist supporters deserve jail time & monetary penalty . They were taunting & purposely approaching the IDF with their sick bodies to taunt the IDF & make Israel look like fools. These evil roaches should be kicked out & these types of demonstrations should be outlawed.
42. a failure, but not a serious one
bernard ,   munich   (09.09.13)
OK, officer Eisner made a mistake, unfortunately, someone took this by his camera und served the media. What Mr. Eisner did wasn't according to ZAHAL's standard, but this man must not punished so hard for this. I don't understand why those useful foreign idiots, eg. the activists, can get so easily into the country. Well, after their stay they will be eventually be grilled a Ben Gurion (too late), but those people a personae non grata. Don't let them in und put them in custody prior to deportation with the next flight to where they have come. They have absolutely no right being in Eretz Israel. Hey, immigration grill the people right before. It appears not to be intelligent to close the barn door after the horse as escaped.

#33,I saw what happen at the time it happen not a ten second clip and the soldier did not act with "relative restrain" he went full force in the face, so he needs to learn control, otherwise he should not be in the front lines, it was bad for Israel.
44. If it happened in Syria. Protestor would have been faceshot

45. #34 Ross: So you would have given a medal to the US Soldier
Dee Bee ,   Israel   (09.09.13)
who murdered 16 Afghan civilians, including children or Lieut. Calley of the Mai Lai massacre? They were also "provoked"! This man, a Lieutenant Colonel in the IDF brought shame on Israel and played right into the hands of Israel's enemies! You might not know because you are in the USA that NOT ONE of Eisner's troops came forward and said he was provoked and there is NO evidence of provocation on any of the videos! The IDF videos each incident and with our present government's right wing position, which I support, if there had been provocation we would have seen it! So, you want expel pro-Palestinian demonstrators but what would YOU say about expelling anti-government protestors in your country! Maybe you want to expel all those Americans who don't want the USA to bomb Syria too?

then so is Marouane Barghouti
47. Deportation

Any foreigner taking part in an antigoverment event is immediately deported from Peru ! In this regards the Israelis are very lenient.
48. Our Enemies Won
A Really Simple Jew ,   Ramat Gan   (09.09.13)
The Arabs and the EU are engaged in total war against Israel. The enemy has used psychological war to take out a high ranking IDF commander. They succeeded by provoking him into making a mistake, and then by manipulating Israel into removing him and disgracing him, through international pressure. Israel should have given him a medal, not fired him.

52. IDF officer who stuck activist: my trial is unjust #45.
Elsie. ,   Gush Halav.   (09.09.13)
#45 Dee Bee, great post, I agree 100%Barbara and Michael too. Guys its not rocket science, if a soldier loses control so easily he/she should not even be holding a gun,the posts clearly show that people are not against the IDF per say, but against a soldier who showed no remorse about his actions, I think the IDF deserves better than this man.
53. Number 45
Ross Gallen ,   Henderson, USA   (09.09.13)
Your emotional outburst about Lt. Calley and the American trooper in Afghanistan do not equate to the Eisner case. They are factually inapposite. Your premise is not correct. Those were cases of homicide where the victims were not involved in an immediate activity against Calley or the American trooper. This was a clear case of provocation by a foreign provocateur to goad the soldiers into action. The Danish photographer had no legitimate business in Israel. His business was to provoke anti Israel feeling in Europe, simply that. There is a difference between being present to promote damage and provocation and legitimate protest. Your man should go back to Denmark!
54. That's right ginette who needs snakes?

Stay where you are....
55. Lt. Col. Eisner... a sacrifice.
Stephen Hutchings. ,   Cheadle England   (09.10.13)
He should be promoted.......................... not punished. Israel is sending out the wrong message on this one. Appeasement will come back to bite you, it gives your enemies a bigger stick to beat you with.
