You are right in some things and wrong in others. 1. Circumcision is not an ancient custom, it is an ancient law. It is written in the "Old" Testament. It has been practiced for so many centuries that yes, it can be called ancient, not modern. 2. Most mohels are rigorously trained in the profession. A great many mohels will circumcise better than a doctor as a doctor is not specifically trained in circumcision. 3. Sorry that your tunnel vision has nothing to do with reality.
