31. #27 How about this?
Samuel ,   Melbourne   (10.08.13)
Yosef was a very hateful man who derailed the Annapolis peace conference. He urged his cult followers to pray for the destruction of Iran and called the women of the wall stupid for seeking equality. The world is a better place without such extremists. The fact that 850,000 Israelis attended his funeral tells me something very worrying indeed about Israel.
32. Not the best ambassador ever to...

us nonJews.
33. to 20
Jennie ,   Israel/US   (10.08.13)
You hear "bells", wringing in your ears, mr/ms "secular"... Just because I respected and would always chose my Rabbi over an Ayatola, should not make me a preacher...But then again, I admit to be quite proud to stand up for my Nation, my sovereign ancient land and my Chief Rabbi, elected by a forum of Rabbies ,intrusted by our Rabinat...If this is preaching, then be it. I can proudly live with such a heavy "sin"...
34. 18 @ Jennie
Birdi ,   Israel   (10.08.13)
Thank you, Jennie. I value your support & opinions for Israel. Dont allow the nutters here to get to you. We, you & I, are one of a kind.
35. #31 Samuel - 100 %
Haim ,   TA   (10.08.13)
How correct you are. The man was a total lunatic and dangerous at that. I suggest his cult followers go get a job and start contributing to this country. The world is a better place without him. He brought missery and suffering to so many with his hate sermons and deserves no sympathy.
36. Even though he had slips of the toungue
RIP Ovadia Yossef   (10.08.13)
He also did good things, no other rabbi had the guts to do. Interesting to note that one of the religious figures said out loud: ELOHIM and Adonai and not EloKim or HaShem. I find that fascinating...
37. Ashkenazim and Yosef
JewishHeart ,   Israel   (10.08.13)
He said Ashkenazim deserved to die in Holocaust. RIP Yosef.
38. #31 Amen to that Sammy!!!!!

40. why?
bz cook ,   tallahassee, fl, usa   (10.08.13)
I am sorry if I offend anyone but I must ask why so many people call this mean hearted man Moses after his repeated comments aout women, his ignorant comment about the people of New Orleans, usa during the hurricane Katrina - help me understand please - thank you
41. I will never understand...
Chaya ,   Hareidi in Jerusalem   (10.08.13)
peoples' need to speak hatefully about people with whom they disagree ideologically. I have never said a negative word about Yair Lapid or his father or any secular, atheist Israeli or Jew that I can remember. I am happy for people to have their ideologies, follow their hearts and live their lives as meaningfully as they know how irrespective of whether I share their value system. Seriously - probably the single most difficult thing about life in Israel for me has been this vicious nastiness and the mocking that goes on of each others' choices. Why is it that the supposed proponents of "live and let live" can't let live. I do not agree that one must only be accepting of people who are themselves accepting. To #3: You do not yet know if we all go the same place. To those who accuse R' Ovadia of creating divide between Ashkenazim and Sephardim: I am Ashkenazi and from what I saw it seemed like a large percentage of the funeral attendees were Ashkenazi. As my grandmother would say when we would fight: "OK let's all be friends now"
42. Power Brokerages Alarmed? They Should Be!
Ariel ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim   (10.08.13)
B"H - The fact that Peres is one of his admirers should raise eyebrows. Nevertheless, the numbers were absolutely staggering and I'm sure alarms were sounding loud in the HQs of secular power-brokerages. After all, these "850.000" were the politically defranchised on show yesterday (earlier today).
43. Chaya #41
Ex-orthodox Jew ,   Europe/Israel   (10.08.13)
Many Sephardim appear as Ashkenazim because of the dress code consensus that follows European style guidelines. I would appreciate that the Sephardi tradition would be held in the same position as the European one. Furthermore several comments of Rav Yosef are very controversial and they have brought bad name and reputation on us. I have several non-Jewish relatives and friends whom I love and appreciate; because of the denigratory things he has expressed about the nations (let alone the Shoah victims or women!) I will not mark the day of his passing as other than Mon 6th of October.
44. #42 Ariel - 850.000 brainless sheep more like it
Keren ,   Haifa   (10.08.13)
Bah bah bah bah Oh dont worry the next cult leader will come along as they obviously have long lost the ability to think for themselves. Well not all is lost , only today Arie Deri said " we shall carry on his legacy". Thing is he already did that by serving 3 years in jail for corruption and fraud. It must be a comfort to know that the future of the Shas cult is in the hands of an ex con i guess this is what they mean by moral guidance.
45. Re # 44 Keren
Ariel ben Yochanan ,   Kfar Tapuah, Efraim   (10.08.13)
B"H - I'm no fan of the deceased, have a post on it at http://thetorahrevolution.blogspot.co.il/2013/10/bh-famous-liar-passed-away-celebrate.html yet numbers, 1/6th of the population is impressive, see http://thetorahrevolution.blogspot.co.il/2013/10/power-brokerages-alarmed-they-should-be.html
46. 43 Ex.There is nothing controversial
J.K. ,   Brooklyn USA   (10.08.13)
