.... is that Turkey just got a big, embarrassing public smackdown from the United States. The United States does not withhold weapons from its NATO allies. The message being sent to Turkey is a strong one, but Erdogan is far too much of a megalomaniac to appreciate that he's been put on notice. Without NATO, Turkey sinks back into complete oblivion. They were never really a full member of NATO, and this simply seals the deal. Erdogan has long been in need of a serious reality check. This should help.

They have already bought drones off Israel and they are in the process of developing one of their own which they intend to export so they don't need the American ones. Only ones that punishment hurts is the US arms companies who will now not get the contract. Maybe its for the best because I wouldn't put it past Erdogan becoming more of a hardline islamist it wouldn't put it past him to sell US technology to China or Iran for revers engineering.
