Hillary Clinton and her husband both loathe Netanyahu and the only fans Netanyahu has in America are the evangelicals and far right Republicans. Without AIPAC money few Republicans would even support Israel. If you read the polls and understand where America is headed the Republicans are not going to win the Presidency in 2016. Jews, Blacks, Gays, Hispanics, and Women are voting for Democrats and this trend will only accelerate. The bomb Iran bomb Gaza right wing Americans that Netanyahu and Lieberman love so much are becoming fewer and fewer and do not represent where most Americans want to go. For that matter, few people in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East support Netanyahu either.

Also, the Aswan Dam comment, which he made prior to being FM, was taken out of context and was meant in the context of a hypotheitcal war with Egypt. Europe is out, as they become more and more outraged over settlement expansion. Russia and China are unlikely partners. Most of Africa is Muslim, and even if they were friendly towards Israel they don't have any real influence. South America, ditto. So who exactly is left? Lieberman says "We have to think on how we restore our reputation in the international arena." That will be tough, however, if he continues to insult everybody in sight. Meron concluded that civilian settlements would be a direct violation of the Geneva Convention. I prefer not to waste more time in a pointless debate with someone who believes that U.S., EU and other opposition to the settlements' legality is based purely on antisemitism.
